This is it, the time has come to enter the world known as the world of "Little Nightmares" but the whole scenario takes place in the sequel which is actually the prequel to the franchise, so get ready to venture and get ready to fight and then head to the damned Signal Tower and end the reign of that very disturbing mass of flesh and eye balls that lurks within. Chapter 603: From the City to the Tower.
Welcome fellow travelers, welcome to this bizarre and very depressing world that is filled with so much mystery and so many dangers.
The buildings look like they're leaning like plants and some are beginning to fall apart, there are some folks in the streets who are all looking at the static images of the TV's and they have no faces on them.
The city is raining and none of the clothes that were cast out are being brought in and are now soaking wet, there is tons of trash all over and many fissures that divide the streets and buildings from each other and what is the source of this dark and depressive energy?
The Signal Tower.
Also known as the Black Tower or Broadcast Tower of the Transmission. A dark Skyscraper with a mauve beacon at its top located in the center of the Pale City. The situation inside the tower is truly supernatural, as props and objects are floating around. There several doors leading to others that are the same area as the other.
Metal staircases are also seen within stretching out from floors to floors. However the concrete walls hide a secret, massive walls of flesh and eye balls lurk within, possibly the being itself is the tower and seeks to create the world of its own liking and consuming the souls of the inhabitants of this darkened world.
"The Black Tower calls, and it will never stop unless you stop it. Are you ready to go back?"
A door from somewhere opens and then a portal is made and someone yells and lands onto the wet bed nearby. "What the?" Boomer looks around and sees where he is and what he's sitting on and then he yells to the others.
"Guys, I landed on a bed and it's really, really…"He takes a look at the streets. "Wow this city looks sad." He gets up and takes a good look around and then he uses his binoculars.
The others pass through the doorway, but as Lucy steps in she hears this child calling out to her, but she can't understand what he's saying. "Guys, did you…" Then she covers her ears and goes down to her knees and she groans from the pain.
"Lucy!" They all go over and check on her, but she calms down.
"Guys, I think I found the source of this stuff." They see Boomer at the top of an old water tower, he then comes down. "Come on!" They all follow him.
Lori checks on Lucy. "Are you alright, Luce?"
Lucy slowly gets up and she looks around. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine. It has passed, but it knows we're here. He knows we're here." They both follow Boomer and they are now out in the open streets and they look to the horizon at what lurks at the distance.
"Dudes that must be it" said Sam. They all look onto the tower in the distance the dreaded Signal Tower that is making this nightmarish world and it's darkness from all around.
"Well, it appears we now have found the source of what we've been seeking." Shang Tsung looks onto Lucy. "Are you feeling alright child?"
Lucy nods. "Yeah, I am and I think that…" They then hear movement and look onto the ally nearby and they spot some people, with no faces and watching the static on the TV. "We may have found the locals."
"Dang, those guys are messed up" said Leon. "They say that too much TV will brainwash you and is very bad, but this is on a whole new god damn level of messed up."
Linka then looks around. "How come we're not affected by this?"
"That would be my doing" replied Gyro. He then shows them that there is this dark blue energy invisible around each of them. "I managed to find some spell to create a powerful barrier so we wouldn't be affected by these things and what they do, especially to whatever these blasted TV's show."
"But I doubt the channels would even attack us, due to the fact that we're not from this world and are capable of handling the situation, though Boomer doesn't need this protection aura."
Boomer is confused and looks to the guardian. "Wait what? Why?"
Carol then figured it out. "Boomer, you're a walking radiation bag. You pretty much are the very definition of an electronic brainwashing machine, and because there is not much of a soul to get from you."
Boomer realizes this. "Huh, well she's not wrong. Also, what the heck is going on now?"
They see the TV's show this image of a black figure and then the TV's all around them turn on and look onto them. Lucy sees this. "He knows we're here and he's watching us."
The beacon on the signal tower glows and all the TV's change channels and give off a Soundwave to the brainwashed viewers and then they turn off. The faceless soulless viewers then look to the group of heroes. "Why are they looking at us?" asked Dana.
Jack Cyber then blasts one that is about to attack. "Looks like the minions of the tower have been sent onto us. Well, time for a fight!"
They all have their weapons and powers ready and they engage these things, their static harming powers might not be harming the heroes, but they might still hurt with their hands and whatever they can do, heck one is carrying a wooden pole to attack them.
"We must head to the tower and shut it down, now!" said Gyro. "I have a plan: Shan Tsung, Bill Cipher and myself will go and search for the freak that maintains the tower, Lucy needs to find The Thin Man and I think the rest of you guys know what to do!"
"Keep em occupied!" Lincoln throws Mjolnir and he slashes one of the faceless people, he then calls back Mjolnir but lets it fly past him and hit another faceless viewer. "We got this!"
Bill Cipher then creates an army of screaming heads with little legs to attack the enemy. "Lucy, go to the tower now. These guys can hold em off, and the rest of us go to the… What the heck is that?!"
They see this long neck and this woman's head on it. Gyro and Lucy recall something about her. "The teacher!"
Leon jumps and he grabs the head and he tries to strike it down. "I got this bitch!" He's then slammed to the wall, but he holds on. "Still got this thing!"
Lori then blasts some lava onto an incoming viewer. "Lucy, go we can do this."
Luan uses a joy buzzer and it shocks one of the viewer's so she can use her hammer. "We can fend them off and keep them from stopping you. Go Luce, stop this thing."
Lucy nods, she then sees an ice road is made for her and the ice road makes a tunnel and she looks towards Luna. "Go Luce."
Lucy then goes down the icy tunnel which is slowly breaking from incoming faceless viewers who want her stopped, but the former people are struck down by bolts of fire and from above are Gyro making a magic platform with Shag Tsung and Bill Cipher riding.
The pathway is clear and Lucy makes a run for it to the signal tower, while Gyro and his two allies look to the structure. "So, you guys ready to fight some wall of flesh and eye balls?"
Shang Tsung has a green soul skull in his hand. "This is not as hard as the tournament I had to endure."
Bill Cipher chuckles. "We are so gonna beat the living crud out of that thing."
They then warp towards the tower and make it to the top, where they will begin their fight against the beast that lurks within the walls of the structure.
(With Lucy.)
The 10-year old Goth girl in the yellow raincoat makes it to the blasted front doors of the Signal Tower and she looks upon it.
Lucy looks back and sees that everyone is handling the situation with their powers and weapons, and she even sees one of the brainwashed viewers tossed into the air and turned to ice and shatter to the ground.
Lucy looks to the door of the tower. "There's no turning back. Time to end this little nightmare." She pushes the door open and she walks in, but the door closes behind her.
Lucy slowly walks down the large empty space and she sees this door with an eye, she opens it and walks on through this bluish hallway. She then sees no other doors, but she sees some stuff scattered around.
From an axe, a hammer, a ladle, a damaged music box, some hats and a floating paper bag and so she grabs the floating paper bag and she takes it with her.
Lucy can feel the air slowing down and she too is slowing down. She makes her way towards the door down the hall with an eye on it and she slowly grabs the doorknob and she opens it.
As the door opens, Lucy sees him. Right there, sitting on his chair in the pink room is: The Thin Man.
The Thin Man.
A tall, slender being adorned in a dark bluish-grey hat and suit, the former of which ominously steeps his eyes in shadow. Like his wardrobe, his wrinkled skin is similarly cool-toned and bleak, calling to mind black-and-white films of the 1940's - 50's. His stature is crooked and misaligned with cheekbones and closed eyes that appears shrunken and emaciated giving him a corpse-like appearance.
He has incredible powers to distort signal waves and move objects around, as well as slow down time and travel through the TV's, he can blink for short distances and is responsible for the brainwashing of everyone. A servant to the Black Tower, he takes souls and feeds the beast within the structure, forever being the minion to this darkened skyscraper.
"As the ever present hum of the transmission chokes the airwaves. The Thin Man continues his endless journey through the desolate place, haunting the shadows, searching for something, or someone."
But, who is The Thin man? Well, unless you have played Little Nightmares 2, then theories might be correct that this villain is trying to break the time loop, so he wouldn't let the past Mono become who he is now.
Lucy is a bit startled by his sight, but she holds her ground and slowly approaches the Thin Man. "Hello."
The Thin Man looks onto the girl and he slowly gets up from his chair and looks onto her, and then he makes this sound that sounds exactly how Mono does when calling out to the girl he helped.
But Lucy is unfazed. "I know who you are, you are said to be The Thin Man, but you are not truly him unless the whole loop continues."
The Thin Man tilts his head to the right as if confused at what she's getting at.
"Why not go back in time and stop Mono from being betrayed again? Why not go back and tell him the truth of the girl he would meet?"
The Thin Man doesn't respond and looks down, as if feeling so much pain and remorse.
Lucy now sees why. "I see now. You are scared that it would continue and never end? You've seen the past memories of The Thin Man before you and how it always plays to an end, and that is why you called onto me."
The Thin Man looks to her and then blinks and he's now in front of her and he looks down and breaths heavily as if he is angry.
Lucy then removes the raincoat and this shocks The Thin Man. "I am not her. I wore this, to get your attention, because you cannot let anyone in unless that said person is someone you seek. Let it be Mono, or the girl who left you for dead."
The Thin Man slowly backs away from her, while Lucy walks forward. "My name is Lucy Loud, and you are not The Thin Man. I know who you are, I have been getting dreams of what you and the girl have been through."
The Thin Man covers his ears, so he doesn't have to hear her. But Lucy's voice pierces through the static shroud of the place. "The girl who betrayed you, she is known as Six and like you, she is not human."
"You're name is Mono, you don't know how you got to the wilderness where you started and you don't know why you even came to rescue Six from her prison in the woods, because in truth, she has been through her own journey before you found her and you two met before so many times."
The Thin Man creates static around the room to keep her away, but Lucy pushes some of the small floating stuff aside. "You have been imprisoned within this place to do the bidding of this tower, and also to claim what you seek, to end the loop and get your revenge on Six for what she did to you."
The Thin Man throws the chair to her, but she steps to the side and it smashes onto the door. "She left you for dead and yet she knew she made a mistake, but she was consumed by something else that made her have the reason to why she did that to you."
The Thin Man stops and looks to her, confused. Lucy then walks up to him. "Mono, Six had a reason to do so. Maybe she saw this coming and didn't want to make the same mistake, or maybe she was afraid of what darkness lurks within her that might harm you."
"She is a very smart and cunning girl who has been using you as a way to survive, but deep down she is a living being with regrets and emotions, you're both just kids and even though you make look like a grownup, you're not. The tower made you into this, but the tower has no control over you."
The Thin Man is now on his knees and looks to his hands, in which Lucy holds them and he looks to her. "Mono, you thought the tower controls you, but it's using your pain, resentment and confused state to think you are its servant. But in truth, it fears you and wants to use you for what it desires."
"You have the power to stop this thing and you have the power to free yourself. So, let go of this pain and resentment and recall the moments you had when she was with you. Sure, they might not be much and it was a short journey as you went on through, but she never did leave your side when you both had each other."
"Six, she's not the bad kid you thought she was. Like you, she's scared, confused and lost, and even though you felt brave, you were still scared and so is she. Don't let this darkness get to you and free yourself from what the tower wants you to think, you are in control."
And just like that, Lucy no longer looks up, instead she looks down to this 9-year old boy.
Mono.
A short and scrawny pale-skinned boy with short, messy black hair that sticks out a little bit and dark eyes. He wears a buttoned olive-colored trench coat that reaches below his knees above a brownish-gray pants rolled up at the end.
"An uncommonly single-minded child. When he sets himself to a task, he rarely gives up before it's completed."
Lucy smiles seeing the boy. "Hello Mono."
Mono slowly looks up and sees the girl in front of him, he then looks to his hands and he sees the shattered mirror and his reflection shows that he is no longer The Thin Man who has been trying to take him, but he is back to normal.
Mono then sees Lucy hand something to him, a paper bag. "Here, I understand the issue when you need to hide your face from others and fearing of the fear and hate all around you."
Mono nods and he takes the paper bag and he puts it on. The paper bag is brown and has two eye holes for him to see.
Mono then goes over and hugs her and she responds with her own hug. "Glad to have you back to normal Mono."
But this small moment is interrupted when they feel the tower shaking, then the walls around them crack and show some blood and an eye ball rolls around the ground. "Wicked. Wait a minute…" She sees some flesh appearing, but it's wounded.
"They did it, they stopped the beast… Wait, that means this place is gonna collapse…"
Without a second thought Mono holds her hand and they both race out of the room.
They then venture down the halls and see the wall of flesh beginning to breach and it's bleeding and the eye balls are turning white and some are panicking and looking at the two kids running.
They then hear some clashing from above and some yelling. "You wanna go!? You wanna go you stupid blob of fleshy mass?!" That was Gyro yelling, then they hear him yelling and a window crash and some crashing from outside, followed by an incantation from Shang Tsung.
Mono and Lucy manage to jump, run, duck and slide underneath and past all the fleshy gaps and cracks in the wall, then they see the main door, but then it's blocked by some debris. "No!" Lucy looks around for a way out, but then Mono grabs her hand and he brings her to a working TV.
"Wait, we're gonna…." Mono then touches the screen and this makes some static and he holds Lucy's hand and they pass through the TV.
They pass by a tunnel of flesh within, that seem to be breaking and turning to static and they soon make it to another TV just sitting by the street near the Signal Tower.
Lucy takes in some air after she held her breath through what she saw, she then goes over and helps Mono to his feet, and the duo look onto the tower that's beginning to crumble.
The beacon above is beginning to flash and then turns black and then begins to fall, then the walls of the building begin to crack and show flesh and blood.
The rest of the heroes show up next to Lucy and Mono and they look onto the tower. "What the heck?" said Sergei. "Looks like they did it." They then see the kid next to Lucy.
"I guess you did your part and freed The Thin Man, nice one Luce." Leon also arrives and he removes the long neck that is tangled around him.
The tower then begins to rock back and forth and then it begins to slowly collapse onto itself and they all begin to back away. "We should get the heck out of here, now!" said Lincoln.
"On it!" They all look up and see Bill Cipher arrives. "This is gonna be close!" With him are Gyro and Shang Tsung and they are covered in flesh and blood, and they warp everyone out of the area.
And just in time as the Signal Tower begins to collapse and falls into the chasm that divides the two streets together, and then it's followed by a fiery explosion and a load roaring sound that stops and dies.
(Far from the Pale City.)
The group have warpped to the beach of the Pale City, and they all take a moment to catch their breath and look onto the smoke from the distance. Lucy goes over and helps Mono to his feet and he also looks at the distance.
"At least that damned tower will not be a threat anymore" said Shang Tsung. He then looks to his attire. "And this is very disgusting."
"That was not an easy fight and we had to use everything we had to take that thing down, and then I tossed more than 5 bombs onto it to take it down and literally make it bleed" said Gyro. He sees the amulet on the ground and he picks it up and it blinks. "How is this damned thing still blinking?"
"With that thing gone, this world can heal over time, but there's still so many darkness that lurks within" said Neil.
While all of them look onto the wreckage of what they have dealt with, Mono slowly walks away from them and sees something on the beach and he goes towards it.
"Yeah, even though I am into the whole gloomy and dark stuff. I know that this world will be able to fix itself from what it went through, what do you think Mono?" Lucy then looks around. "Mono?"
They all look for the boy, and they see him. Mono, is pushing this canoe near the water and it has two paddles on it and this small flier that says The Maw. They all slowly walk towards him.
Mono then looks to them, he then goes to Lucy and he shows her his hand, and through this Lucy shakes it. "Good luck Mono, I know you will find her."
Mono nods and so he hands her his paper bag, in which she accepts and smiles. "So long, kid."
Mon smiles and he walks towards the canoe and goes into it. Lucy and Lincoln go over and they give the canoe a push and they all watch and wave as the boat slowly drifts away from the mainland and the boy in the boat waves to them.
Soon, the boat is out of sight, which means Mono is off on his own journey to find the girl in the yellow raincoat, Six.
Lucy sheds a tear and she wipes it away. 'Mono, I know you and Six are gonna be okay in this messed up world.'

A/N: That ends the Little Nightmare for Mono and chances he will find Six and perhaps the duo can rekindle this bond of friendship they once had and betrayed and with the Signal Tower gone, now the world can heal and the nightmarish energy is no longer a threat, but who knows what else lurks throughout this world of darkness and despair.
