My Hero Academia: Entreri Gaiden
Chapter twenty-five: Preemptive revenge
Fuyuki was in Mineta's office at the primary warehouse hideout, sitting off to the side as Mineta gave some instructions to a group of four thugs he was having go out to some location on the edge of town to carry out a job for him. Due to the location where said job would be, there was a minimal chance that any police or pro hero period would be showing up, and that's only if what few locals living in that area got suspicious. Playing things safe would allow them get through things without too much issue.
After the four thugs left, they closed the door behind them, leaving Mineta and Fuyuki be. The criminal gang lord let out a resigned sigh. "...The idiots in that remote location in town have been a total pain in the rear for the last time," Mineta said, "Hopefully the boys I just sent out will make sure it's a pain I won't have to deal with ever again."
The disguised, runaway teen nodded in understanding before getting up and walking over to stand in front of his boss's desk. However, after getting halfway to where he wanted to stand, Fuyuki spotted something on Mineta's desk that caught his eye. Curious, he pointed to it, giving Mineta the idea he was curious about it. Mineta picked up the item in question, a small framed photo sitting on his desk, and looked at it with a loving look in his eyes.
"Oh, it's just I picture I took with my wife and daughter," Mineta said, even showing his elite thug the photo, "A perfect family, wouldn't you agree, Entreri?" Fuyuki looked at the photo, got a good look at both persons in the photo. If Fuyuki remembered correctly, the wife is named Raphtalia and the daughter is named Ichigo. The daughter even had what looked like a strawberry-themed variation of Mineta's Pop Off, which has a distinct grape-theme on Mineta himself.
Fuyuki looked to Mineta and gave an agreeing nod while shooting his boss a thumbs up. Mineta smiled at this. "Yeah, my family is more than I ever could have asked for back when I was still a student at UA. But they are some of the very few people who I love and care for deeply. Heh, my daughter Ichigo even ended up developing some of my habits, although whereas I favored the ladies back when I was Ichigo's age, Ichigo herself is steadfast in trying to find Mr. Right."
The disguised teen figured on that, given the one entry in Nezu's journal that he had briefly mentioned that Komaru was harassed by a girl named Ichigo. A look of curiosity appeared in what little of Fuyuki's face was not covered, before he went over to get his dry erase board and wrote something on it that he wanted to ask his boss. When he finished, Fuyuki turned his board around to show Mineta what he wrote.
Does anyone else in the gang know about your family?
Letting out a troubled sigh, Mineta said, "A few men here know I have a family, but they don't have any details on it. Hell, you're the only living person who knows any specific details, given that all others who knew any specifics were killed in the siege on UA. I...don't exactly like having to share details about my family, as it puts them in danger. I only told you because you saw the photo and asked, plus I can trust you."
Fuyuki nodded in understanding before wiping his dry erase board. "Anyway Entreri, I got a job for you," Mineta began. Fuyuki perked up at that as he gave his boss his full attention. "As I'm sure you know, the pro hero Dynamight was restored to active duty. Given what he's capable of, as well as the fact that he's actually one of the few people I'm legitimately afraid of, it ought to go without saying what I want done about him."
The disguised teen got the message; Fine Wine was targeting Dynamight with the intent to put the fresh out of retirement pro hero six feet under. But this would be something of an emotional ordeal for Fuyuki, even though his ability to care all that much had been snuffed out. After all, he was being given the task of taking out Dynamight, aka Katsuki Bakugo, aka Fuyuki's uncle. It'll be the first time that Fuyuki is intentionally going to confront someone in his family ever since he had run away from home.
"I don't have it exactly where Dynamight will be heading off to quite yet," Mineta said, "All I know is that he'll have at least one intern with him who's a UA student currently attending classes over at Faerun High. It's just Dynamight who I want dead, so there's no exact need to kill the intern or interns. I'll leave things up to your judgement when it comes to the intern or interns that will be there with Dynamight."
Fuyuki nodded in understanding before he was dismissed until Mineta got the info needed to send the disguised, runaway teen off on his job. As he walked to his room at the warehouse hideout, Fuyuki thought about who all could be the intern or interns to his Uncle Katsuki, as well as how he'd deal with them. If it's one of the boys, he'll just beat them all up and knock them out, although his hand will be forced if one or two boys prove troublesome enough to warrant it.
If one of Uncle Katsuki' interns happens to be Fuyuki's cousin Inko? Oh, he's going to do to her what Mineta's having him do to Uncle Katsuki.
When Katsuki Bakugo, otherwise known as the pro hero Dynamight, showed up at Faerun High to pick up his interns, he saw that the Faerun High principal had three girl students waiting for him. Right away, Bakugo recognized his daughter Inko, but the other two girls had caught his curiosity a little bit. One was a slender, nerdy looking girl with a pair of white slender horns growing out of her head, and the other had rows of strawberries growing out of her head in corn rows, ending in little lengths growing off of the end of her head.
Pointing to the other two girls, Bakugo asked his daughter, "Hey Inko, who are these other girls?"
Jerking a thumb at the strawberry girl, Inko said, "Well Strawberry short-bitch there is that Ichigo harlot who was bothering Komaru a while ago. However I'm not sure what she's doing here, as she ain't a UA student period."
"Some older blonde man wearing a leather jacket had me take part in this whole thing," Ichigo explained, looking a bit confused.
Shrugging, Bakugo said, "Hmm, Hizashi-sensei must think that you can test into the hero course and transfer into UA." Looking at the UA hero student badge that Ichigo had on her shirt, Bakugo went on, "And you do have one of those badges. I suspect that Hizashi-sensei was the one who gave it to you." Pointing to the nerdy looking girl, Bakugo asked Inko, "What about her?"
"That's...my classmate Hikari," Inko said, a hint of troubled resignation in her tone, "She's not been feeling so well ever since shortly before the siege on UA, hence why she has gotten rather slender as of late. She used to be far heavier than I am right now, and I've always been on the thin side of things myself."
The pro hero Dynamight turned to look at the formerly fat Hikari with a concerned look on his face. "...There's a such thing as being too thin, young la-"
"I deserve to suffer."
Bakugo looked at Hikari with some surprised alarm in his expression. Yeah, he was totally going to have Hikari get some consoling after things were over here; there have been a lot of problems as of late that never would have been there if adults had seen the signs before things got too bad and acted to fix things. Bakugo intended to nip this problem in the bud before it got too out of hand and damage that can't be undone occurs.
"Anyway girls, we're only going to do a simple patrol around one area of the city. During said patrol, I'll probably lecture you on the importance of what those in the pro hero business mean to society. Forgive me in advance if I come off as some boring old fart while I drone on and on about all of that messy business."
"I bet you'll at least try to make it sound cool, dad," Inko said, "Unlike what Uncle Izuku would have done."
That got a chuckle out of Bakugo. "Yeah, he's always been a nerd, that uncle of yours." Gesturing for the girls to follow him, Bakugo said, "Well anyway girls, we ought to get going. The patrol is not going to do itself." Inko, Hikari and Ichigo all nodded in understanding as they all proceeded to follow the pro hero Dynamight off onto the patrol. This was not something that Bakugo's got to do in a while, leading interns.
It was good to be back in the saddle.
Meanwhile, a group of thugs working for Fine Wine were fighting a group of thugs from an enemy gang. Fine Wine's men were being led by Akio Takemoto, the villain Big Beef, so all of the enemy gang members were little challenge if any. After the last enemy gang member was knocked out by a female thug with red hair in a single long braided ponytail, Akio dropped the one enemy gang member that he was holding; the way that the person Akio dropped made it clear that Big Beef had killed him.
"Heh, easy pickin's," Akio remarked, "That bastard who had his crew come here into Fine Wine's territory with the aim to steal a piece of the pie will learn soon enough that the boss doesn't like to share his dessert."
"I agree," said a bald male thug, "Just because Fine Wine's gone and knocked out a lot of what had been supporting the heroes doesn't mean other gangs can try to get a piece of what the boss has managed to nab for himself."
As Akio and the others proceeded to clean things up, a black-haired female thug came running up to Akio. "Umm, I just heard of some troubling news, Beef," the black-haired female thug said, "That pro hero you crippled into retirement a few years ago is out walking the streets as an active pro hero again."
Some of the other thugs working for Fine Wine took steps back out of shocked surprise and worry. "Dynamight is back to active duty?" the bald thug said, "Oh fuck, that's bad news!" The bald thug turned to look at Akio. "Hey Beef, what should-"
The bald thug, as well as all of the other thugs working for Fine Wine that were there, took pause when they saw that Akio wore a teeth-barring, wild ecstatic grin of savage glee after he heard that Dynamight was back to active duty. "...Well I'll be damned. I get to go for round two against Dynamight." Turning to look at the black-haired female thug, Akio said, "Where is that explosive bastard now?"
"Umm, he's in the open market area near the water side warehouses," explained the black-haired female thug, "Why do-"
"If I'm late getting back, let the boss know I'm taking care of a problem for him!" Akio said as he ran off in the direction that he was just given, rushing off before anyone could stop him. It's been ages since Akio's had a good fight, and he was hoping that Dynamight could give one to him, given that he had to cripple him in their last encounter before Akio was defeated by Deku and sent off to the prison where he wallowed for a few years.
Big Beef wanted to get some exercise.
Over at open market area near the water side warehouses, Bakugo was talking to Inko, Hikari, and Ichigo about how pro heroes played an important part in maintaining the peace. "Believe you me, girls," Bakugo said, "Things would be a hell of a lot worse if heroes weren't around to get bastards like criminals and villains to back the hell off. Hell, I bet that Fine Wine would've done far more and greater damage by now if it weren't for pro heroes actively opposing him."
"And I bet that it's going to be a hero that will take that slippery bastard down for good," Inko remarked, drawing an agreeing nod out of her father.
As the group walked, they were met up by a kind older woman who came out from a stall that she was running at the open market. "Oh, it's good to see a pro hero like you around here, sir," said the kind older lady to Bakugo, "Makes me feel safer since thugs tend to act up in this area."
Bakugo nodded in thanks before saying, "Yeah, although I had literally just come out of retirement since I got some surgery that undid my crippling injury that I had. It actually feels pretty good to be back out on the streets."
"And I'm glad for it, sir," the kind older lady replied. Bakugo and the kind older lady were getting into talking a bit, but they were both cut off when a panicked cry sounded out, making Bakugo and his interns all turn to face the direction that the cry came from. A few civilians were running towards Bakugo's direction, with a slender early twenties man stopping in front of the fresh out of retirement pro hero.
Pointing in the direction he came from, the man said, "A large, muscular man is attacking some men at the warehouse that stores seafood! The warehouse is white and has a blue roof, and there are blue fish silhouettes painted on the outside walls!"
"Large muscular man?" Bakugo asked. The man nodded in the affirmative. Despite how most of the civilians are scared, the pro hero Dynamight was a bit excited. He turned around to face the three girls that were with him. "...Girls, you're coming along with me on this one."
"Are you sure that it's a good idea to bring us along when you confront a dangerous man, sir?" Hikari asked, looking mildly concerned.
Gesturing to the girls, Bakugo said, "Pro hero work is dangerous, no getting around that. Besides, it's just one man, and I'll do all the fighting. If anything, you girls will only go and get help if need be. That's also an important role when heroes confront dangerous persons that are causing a ruckus."
Inko nodded in agreement with her dad as she said, "We can also try backing you up if need be."
Shrugging, Bakugo said, "That's also a point, although I really hope that you girls don't have to fight whoever thought that it'd be a good idea to be my warm-up exercise for getting back into pro hero work." Following Bakugo's lead, the three girls ran after him as he rushed off to find the warehouse in question, intending to confront whoever it was that was causing a ruckus within.
A few moments later at the warehouse in question, Bakugo went right inside, with the three girls all following him. "...Just let me handle the lone bastard, girls," Bakugo said, "If it looks to be more than what I'm anticipating, then the first thing that I want for the three of you to do is to go get some backup."
All three of the girls nodded in agreement with the pro hero Dynamight. "Yes sir," Ichigo replied, "The last thing I wanna do is tango with a guy that a pro hero is required in order to take down."
Bakugo nodded approvingly. "Yeah, I'd rather not see any of you girls get injured or-" Suddenly, Bakugo jumped to push all three girls out of the way. Moments later, a large processing machine landed right where Bakugo and the girls were previously standing. Additionally, since the machine just so happened to have landed right in front of the one known doorway, Bakugo and the girls were effectively trapped.
After the noise made by the machine crashing down had faded, Bakugo looked to the girls. "Are all of you girls okay?" Bakugo asked in a concerned tone as he got up and proceeded to help the girls get back up as well.
"Yeah, I'll live," Inko replied as she dusted herself off. Brushing dust off of her shoulder, Inko went on, "What I would like to know is where in the hell that thing came from, and who in the hell thought that it would be a good idea to chuck it at us."
"That would be me, young lady!" a hardy, prideful male voice called out, making everyone turn to face the direction that the call came from. The three girls all froze upon seeing just who it was that had called out, and Bakugo himself even paled a little bit. Indeed, the person that had all of them trapped in the warehouse with them was one of the absolute last persons that anyone had an interest in tackling, not at least without backup from Deku.
Akio Takemoto, the villain Big Beef, held up a hand in a gesture of greeting, giving off a darkly amused grin. "...Yo, Dynamight," Akio greeted Bakugo, as if he were greeting an old friend, "It's been a while. How was the vacation?"
Right away, Bakugo got into a defensive stance for battle. "...Long," Bakugo replied wryly, "It's part of why I'm glad to be back to work." As Bakugo moved to stand right in front of the three girls, Akio gave off an amused laugh, clearly able to see that the pro hero was trying to protect the trio of interns.
"Relax, Dynamight," Akio said, "I'm only interested in a one-v-one with you. The little ladies there, if they are smart, will respect that."
"If it's just fighting me that you want," Bakugo began, "Then why not let the girls go? That way it'll just be you and me here."
Shrugging, Akio replied, "Now you see, normally I'd do that. However, if the girls go, then they'd undoubtedly bring someone back to spoil my fun." Akio then cracked his knuckles, offered the pro hero before him a savage, snarling smile. "...Besides which, they know that I was here and can give the police and pro heroes info to lead to my recapture, which I know would make Fine Wine upset since he went through so much to get me back."
"Yeah, because your boss's men were able to trick Komaru into letting them kidnap him, you bastard!" Inko snarled at the man before her, the man who had crippled her father into retiring from pro hero work a few years ago. Inko, although she didn't show it, was scared, scared that Big Beef will again do to her dad what he had done to him in the past.
Akio's eyes narrowed angrily a bit. "...Hey now, I don't take too kindly to being insulted, little lady," the large, strong man said in a warning tone, "But then again, my annoyance at that is moot as I'm planning to kill you, the other two girls and Dynamight anyway."
"Ha!" Ichigo laughed defiantly at Akio, "I'd like to see you try and do anything, you dumb-" Ichigo was cut off when Akio picked up a metal oil storing drum and throw it long ways right at Ichigo, who barely ducked to the ground in time to avoid the metal drum. Ichigo shrieked in fright at the metal drum flew over her head and went on to hit the wall behind her with so much force that it actually pierced the wall, getting stuck halfway through.
Pointing warningly at Ichigo, Akio said, "Just for that one, little lady, after I kill Dynamight and get to work on killing you three girls, you're the first that I will kill!" At the prompting of Akio's threat towards Ichigo, Bakugo cast a lot of explosions at the large, strong man, engulfing him in explosions as he rushed him. The explosive pro hero then began to rush at Akio, but when he got close enough, Akio's arm reached out through the smoke of the explosion.
Grabbing Bakugo as the dust settled, Akio spun with a smiling snarl on his face before throwing Bakugo away, sending him to a wall that he slammed into mostly with his left side. As Bakugo fell to the floor of the warehouse, moaning in pain but still clearly alive, Akio turned to face the three girls, all of them looking alarmed to see the villain Big Beef turn to regard them. He gave a smirk while the three girls cowered a bit.
"...Well now, he ought to stay down for a bit," Akio said, slowly walking to the girls who were all too scared to move, "He's not fighting with the fire I expected out of him. Maybe Dynamight will perk up a bit if I kill the three of you right now!" Akio then turned to face Ichigo, making her cry a bit as she trembled out of fright. "And like I had previously said, rude little girl," Akio said as he approached Ichigo first, "I'll start by killing you to-"
*KASHUNK*
Akio stopped. The girls all stopped. Bakugo even stopped after someone who had snuck up behind the large, powerful man, jumped up, and jabbed the blade of a hunting knife into the side of his neck, pushing on the handle to have the blade slice out and leave the throat savaged by cold, merciless steel. Akio, his fate sealed, fell to his knees and left hand as he futility covered his savaged throat with his right hand as rich, warm life-crimson gushed out.
The villain Big Beef then fell over onto his left side on the floor in the warehouse, going eerily still as he laid in an ever-growing pool of his own blood. The three girls and a winded and hurt Bakugo all looked to the person who stood over the now vanquished Big Beef, the one who had just taken large, powerful man's life.
Entreri.
The glare that the assassin-style thug gave to Bakugo and the girls made it clear that he was in no mood to deal with anything, especially since he had just killed one of his allies. The reason for why Entreri had killed Big Beef just now was beyond Bakugo and the girls. They were all just worried about what he would do next.
Without ceremony, Entreri turned around and ran out, his path directing Bakugo and the girls to a door that they didn't notice until they saw him run out of it. Entreri was long gone before Bakugo had regained his composure enough to help the girls regain theirs. Figuring out what exactly was Entreri's motivation to kill Big Beef would come later. For now, Bakugo was given the chance to show the girls how to call in a dead body to the police and pro heroes.
END, CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
Author's notes;
This chapter sees Bakugo confront the very villain who had crippled him in the first place. However, after Akio threw Bakugo around and proceeded to approach the girls while vocally declaring his intent to kill all of them, Fuyuki had to pull a sneak attack kill on him. The news is going to be all over Big Beef's death in the next chapter, while Fuyuki himself explains to Mineta why Akio had to be killed before he could do what he said he was going to do.
