Chapter 37 – Ewok Wedding
The morning came in the Sanctuary Moon of Endor, a little bit cloudy. Leia was heading towards Luke hut, still a little sleepy. Her left arm still hurt from the shot wound but it was getting better. She wish she was back to sleep, but they had to get earlier, if they want to reach Coruscant, before 1200 hours.
Reaching the entrance of the hut she called
"Luke! Ines" she picked inside and smiled when she saw her twin brother, laying on his back, with Ines on his right side, with her head resting on his chest, both still sleeping. She hated to wake them up, but she needed it.
Walking slowly inside, she tapped Luke's left arm and whispered
"Luke. Luke wake up"
Luke opened his eyes and looked to his sister.
"Leia? What time is it?"
"Early morning. Sorry to wake you up but we need to get ready"
Luke nod rubbing his eyes
"Thanks. We will be there in a minute"
Nodding she left, while Luke stretched in bed and looking down he started to shake Ines gently
"Hey sleepyhead, it is time to wake up" smiling when Ines whine
"5 more minutes" she pouted tighten her right arm around him
"I wish, but we need to get up. We need to eat something before we leave to Coruscant."
At the mention of food, she wince
"I don't think I can eat" she said rolling on her back and rest her hand on her stomach. Morning sickness were not fun.
Luke turn on his right and rest his hand on top of hers
"Morning sickness?" he asked making her nod and looked back at him.
"Your son is giving me a hard time in these first trimester, I'll tell you that" she smiled making him smile "But I wouldn't change for anything because it means he is here inside me growing"
"I would love to be here in bed but if we don't get up, Leia will come here or worst 3PO"
Ines laughed imagining poor 3PO coming in the hut to tell them to get up.
"Fine" she said and both got up, put their boots, while Ines undo the braid she had, deciding to leave the hair lose, knowing that Luke loved that, and after Luke put back his belt, they went outside and walked towards the others.
"Morning love birds" Han said "I was about this close to send 3PO to call you again"
Han was sitting with a plate on his hand eating something that Ines didn't want to know
"Ready to leave this place?" He asked
"Yes we are"
"Here, I don't know what it is but is like the drink. It is not bad" he handled a plate to Luke and a spoon. Being left handed, Luke adjusted the plate with his right hand and grabbing the spoon with his left, he started to eat.
"How is it?" Ines asked him
"Not bad. Want to try" he asked making Ines wince and turn her face away
"No thank you. I don't want to throw up please"
Luke smiled and started to eat.
"Where are the others?" he asked
"Many of the squad and the pilots already left. Beside us, Lando will go with us to Coruscant too." Leia replied finishing her breakfast.
"Where is he?"
"In the Falcon, get everything ready" Han informed.
Everyone finished their meal and stood up.
"Ines are you sure you don't want to eat anything. It will take time to reach Coruscant" Leia pat her friend on the shoulder
"Please, Leia don't talk about food in the morning with me, at least not today. Your nephew is giving me a difficult morning" Ines replied resting her hand on her stomach again.
Chief Chirpa appeared followed by the other Ewoks.
"3PO tell them to thank for their help and hospitality they gave us." Leia told, which 3PO informed them.
"Princess Leia, they said you are all welcome since we are part of the tribe. And because of that, they want to something before we leave"
"We don't have time" Han complained
"Han. Come on. They did help us" Luke looked at him who nod rolling his eyes. "3PO what they want to do?"
He got his answer when a Ewok grabbed his hand and started to pull him to the center of the village, while a female Ewok grabbed Ines and put her next to Luke, while the other Ewoks surrounded them.
Then she chief started to talk and after a while the two Ewoks who pulled Luke and Ines, now were make them bow as they put a flower necklace around their neck. Then the Ewoks started to clap and chant and clapping all happy.
Ines and Luke looked at each other
"What was that?" Ines asked him
"3PO what was this?" Luke asked him
"Master Luke, according to the Ewok tradition, since we are part of the tribe, we just witness your wedding. You are now officially husband and wife."
Ines looked at Luke who was smiling at her.
"Well if you are my wife, I think this is the part I can kiss the bride" he laughed and pulled Ines into a kiss, while the Ewoks all clap and pat Luke and Ines, making them pulled apart and laugh at their little friends.
"I still want to wear a wedding dress mister" she smirked at him
"Our public wedding will be in 2 and half months in Coruscant" he smiled "Mrs Skywalker"
"Are we really married?" she asked wrapping her arms around his neck
"I believe we are." he smiled kissing her cheek.
"Well that was lovely, you can have the wedding night later, but now we have to go if we want to reach Coruscant" Han informed them.
Saying goodbye to the Ewoks, they all reached the Falcon, who was waiting for them.
"I was wondering where you were?" he asked them
"Sorry but apparently we had a wedding all of the sudden" Han told looking at Luke and Ines who were examining their necklaces.
"A wedding?" Lando asked
"A Ewok Wedding at least. The public one will happen soon." Ines said
"Well congratulations. Shall we?" he said and everyone entered in the Falcon, and soon after the ship lift and left Endor.
Hours later:
As the Falcon was in light speed, they were at the back of the ship, talking, while waiting for the ship to reach Coruscant.
"So Lando, what will you do now?" Leia asked him
"Well I will stay in Coruscant until Luke and Ines public wedding, then I will return to Bespin. That is my city and that is where I belong." he said and smiled "But my offer is still standing, you two can come with me. I still think you belong with us in the clouds" he laughed making Han rolled his eyes and Leia couldn't help but laugh too.
"Well sorry Lando, but my wife stays with me in Coruscant" Luke smiled, making Chewie growled in approval.
"Was that ceremony really official?" Han asked
"Oh yes General Solo" 3PO responded "Since it was conducted by the Tribe Chief, it is official like you married in any other system. Master Luke and Mistress Ines are now official a married couple."
"But we still have the traditional wedding, with wedding rings, and the wedding party. Don't worry you guys?" Luke laughed.
"Good" Han pointing at Luke smiling but frown when he look at Ines "Hey kid, are you okay?"
Ines was in silence the whole trip, supporting her head on her hands, with her eyes closed while giving deep breaths. Today her morning sickness was hitting her hard, and she knew she was about to throw up. She was trying to hold back but didn't know how long.
"She is nauseous" Luke said while he kept rubbing her back
"Maybe because she didn't eat anything." Leia said "Ines maybe if you eat something"
Ines moan
"Please Leia, don't…" she started but couldn't stop the sentence "I'm going to throw up" and standing up she ran to the bathroom.
"Maybe I should go with her" Leia was about to stand up
"I'll go sis" Luke told and Leia looked at him smiling. She was happy that he was her brother and she knew Luke felt the same.
Standing up Luke head to the bathroom, seeing Ines, sitting on the floor, with her head on the toilet.
"Hey"
Looking at Luke she wince
"Please Luke, I don't want you to see me like this" she said, closing the toilet and pulling the flush toilet, she looked at Luke, who just entered the room and sat next to her
"Well too late. I already saw you throw up back in Tatooine, remember, when you didn't close your mind in time when I was in Jabba's Palace."
"You must think this is really disgusting" she told him, making Luke looked at her.
"Well, you are my wife. And as your husband I will always be here for you. I will always hold your hair when you throw up, going to get the weird food at the latest hours in the morning when you get your food cravings, I will help to put your shoes and pick everything from the floor, I will massage your feet when they get swollen and rub your back when it hurts and when it is time to put this little one into this world" he said rubbing her belly "I will be right by your side giving you my hand for you to squeeze as hard as you can"
Ines looked at him with tears rolling down her cheeks
"Damn it, now you are making me cry"
"And I'm here to wipe the tears from your face when you get your mood swings" he smiled and pulled into a hug. "Mrs Ines Talia Skywalker" he whispered to her making smile while she face him
"I'm a Skywalker"
"Yes you are" he pat her nose. "Come on, can you stand up?"
Ines nod and standing up she washed her mouth first, and then they both went met the others
"Feeling better kid?" Han asked
"Yes thank you. For now"
Chewie appeared growling and with a glass on his hand filled with a green liquid inside and talking he headed it to Ines, who grabbed it and look at Han
"What is it?"
"It is something for your nausea." Han informed her
Ines looked at it and smell it.
"It smells bad"
"Are you sure she can drink this. What about the baby?" Luke asked
"I'm sure Chewie wouldn't give anything to Ines that would harm the baby, Luke" Leia replied to her brother
"Sorry Chewie. I didn't mean that" Luke looked to the Wookie who nod but continue to growled and indicating to Ines to drink the liquid.
"Trust me kid, it will help you and it is safe"
"Well I trust you my friend" she looked at the Wookie and started to drink. "I don't know what it is worst: the smell or the taste" she talked but drank everything, giving the glass to Chewie, who pat her head gently and growl nodding.
"So how are you feeling?" Luke asked her
"Much better actually. Chewie, what would I do without you. I will need that until this morning sickness disappear, please" she smiled at him who laughed at her.
Then the Falcon started beeping indicating they had arrived in Coruscant.
Well Ines and Luke are now married, but the public ceremony will happen in 2 and a half months. Now they arrived to Coruscant.
