Sans lead the Gravity Falls explorers and their guardians through the snowy woods of Snowdin.
"Hey bonehead, should we be worried about the locals trying to attack us humans and taking our souls?" Asked Stan.
"No need to worry. Most of the locals don't care about humans and as long as you're with me they won't bother you. The Royal Guard might be a bit of a issue, but I think we can probably reason with them." Said Sans.
"What would happen if we did a ton of good friendly deeds for the monsters?" Asked Mabel.
"What you talking about?" Asked Sans.
"I mean what if we go around the Underground and help the monsters out with any tasks they have. Let's show them that not all humans are bad and that we can all get along and live together in peace." Said Mabel.
"You sound like a optimist. I suppose that could work though, you're probably going to have to put in a great deal of work to make it work." Said Sans.
"No big deal, working hard is my specialty and I always come to work with a smile on my face." Said Mabel with a grin.
"Well I wish you the best of luck with that." Said Sans.
"So is there anything important we should know about Snowdin?" Asked Dipper.
"Well Snowdin is the coldest place in the Underground, though it's home to some of the warmest people you'll ever meet. There's a nice town with good shopping and food. Most of the folks around here are pretty swell, we have a few bad eggs, but they usually keep to themselves." Said Sans.
"Sounds like a pretty cool place." Said Soos.
"There is one bad place you should absolutely avoid in Snowdin." Said Sans getting serious.
"What's that?" Asked Wendy.
"Subcon Forest. It's a bad place ruled by a nasty ghost creature called Snatcher. Few monsters have gone into the Subcon Forest and fewer have returned babbling mad things about shadows and crazy queens." Said Sans.
"You don't think they were talking about the Shadow Queen, do you?" Asked Finn.
"Very unlikely. The Shadow Queen is locked up tight and hidden. If she was loose or fixing to be loose, the entire Underground would know." Said Sans.
"So what do you think is there?" Asked Dipper.
"Don't know, but it stays in Subcon Forest and leaves the rest of the Underground alone. We leave it alone and it leaves us alone." Said Sans.
"Smart move." Said Stan.
The group continued on through the woods.
A dozen miles away a large group of X-Nauts were digging in a rocky area. The X-Nauts were an odd looking race of humanoids. They all wore strange uniforms that covered their entire bodies. The uniform consisted of a light red outfit with a dark red X on the front, with large white collars that covered the bottom parts of their faces, white boots with red bottoms, white gloves, blue goggles with yellow rims, and white hats with little points on them. The X-Nauts made up the bulk of Spirit and her sisters's forces.
The X-Nauts were currently searching for a Crystal Star they believed to be in the area somewhere. Standing on a rock nearby overseeing the search was the second in command of the X-Nauts, Lord Crump. Crump was taller then the other X-Nauts and wore a black shirt with a white X on it, with a large red collar with a short red cape, purple pants, black pointy shoes, white gloves, blue goggles with yellow rims, and a purple helmet with purple horns.
Crump was currently in a bad mood. He had recently suffered a string of bad luck, which consisted of a series of defeats at the hands of the Royal Guard, the Legion of Light, and a few of the Doctor's underlings. Crump had also repeatedly failed to find and retrieve any the Crystal Stars. His blunders were really stacking and his boss Sir Grodus was considering firing Crump and giving someone else his job.
(Author's Note: Grodus is from Mario.)
Crump looked away from his workers to a trio of beings sitting around drinking some soda. One of these beings was a green bean-like creature named Fawful. Fawful wore eye glasses, had a single strand of hair and a big grin. His outfit consisted of a black suit with black gloves and grey sandals, beneath a red and grey coat. Sitting next to Fawful was a strange piece of headgear called the Vacuum Helmet. The device consisted of a glass dome with a metal bottom, two red pipes sticking out of the side with grey rockets on them, and at the very top was a rectangular piece of metal that appeared to have eyes.
Fawful looked over at Crump and waved at him, which only put Crump in a worse mood. The green being had joined Spirit's forces a few months ago and had already proven himself to a valuable asset by creating a device that could detect and locate the Crystal Stars. Spirit currently had one the stars in her possession and had allowed Fawful to study it, which allowed him to create his tracking device. Now a team of X-Nauts were out searching for a Crystal Star.
Crump was both angry and jealous at Fawful. There was a rumor going around the X-Nauts that Grodus was going to fire Crump and give his job to Fawful. Crump was furious about this and had tried to intimidate Fawful into being a terrible worker, only to get soundly beaten by Fawful's friend/bodyguard Midbus.
Midbus resembled a pink boar with armadillo-esque armor and a snout-like tattoo on each shoulder. He had black horns and wore black metal armbands. Midbus was currently sitting next to Fawful eating a donut.
Next to Fawful and Midbus was Spirit's youngest sister Samantha, though she preferred to be called Sammy. Sammy was a short humanoid with pale white skin and long blonde hair that went down her back and stuck out like two curved horns on the side. She had yellow eyes with purple irises. Sammy wore a pink dress with blue buttons, brown boots with white fluff at the top, green armbands, and a pointy pink and green stripped princess hat. She carried a toy blue and yellow fish on a red chain, which she used as a weapon.
Crump glared at the three before turning back to surveying the diggers.
Unbeknownst to the diggers, four thieves were watching them dig from some bushes a few hundred yards away. Two of the thieves were Resourceful Rat and Pluto. The other two were called Popple and Croco. Popple was a green being with yellow eyes that wore a purple mask, a grey beret with a little green stalk on top, a shirt with purple and periwinkle stripes, white gloves, black pants, and black shoes. Croco was a purple crocodile with green spikes running across his back, who wore a red top hat, white gloves, and red shoes with his toes sticking out.
(Author's Note: Popple and Croco are from Mario.)
Resourceful Rat had been the first one to spot the X-Nauts start digging and figured they must be digging for something valuable, so he summoned three criminal associates to check it out. Whatever the X-Nauts were digging for the four thieves wanted it. Pluto wondered how the little group was going to accomplish such a task with so many X-Nauts around. Resourceful Rat answered that question by pulling out a phone and making a quick call.
"Hi Legion of Light, I'm just a local that lives in the far north of Snowdin and I've spotted several X-Nauts digging and making all kinds of ruckus. I don't know what they're up to, but I'm very concerned." Said Resourceful Rat into the phone.
There was a pause and Resourceful Rat spoke agin.
"You're sending a strike force that should arrive soon. That's great! Thank you."
Resourceful Rat hung up the phone and gave his cohorts a thumbs up. Once the Legion of Light forces arrived on the scene fighting would breakout between them and the X-Nauts and in the confusion the thieves would go in and steal the treasure. It would be a great heist.
Back over at Toriel's house, Mom had returned armed with a new knife and the potions she stole from Klungo's shop. Mom opened the bottle of invisibility potion and drank it. A few seconds later Mom became invisible. Mom readied her knife as she entered the house looking for Isaac and Toriel, unaware that Flowey was watching her from afar.
The Gravity Falls group was walking through the woods, when someone suddenly a voice called out to them.
"Hello strangers and welcome to Snowdin. I am the Great Papyrus and I'm glad to meet you!"
A tall, skeleton, with a thin skull, and goofy friendly grin stepped out from some trees before the group. The newcomer wore a outfit that consisted of a white chest plate with gold trim, coquelicot gloves with a golden trim, blue briefs with a golden belt, and knee-high coquelicot boots. He also wore a short, orange-red cape.
"Whose that?" Asked Dipper.
"That is my younger brother Papyrus and he is quit a character." Said Sans.
To be continued.
