A long while ago before Kion's Lion Guard was made, Nala had a friend named Nirmala. After a forbidden romance, Nirmala was forced to leave her one true love. She became so embedded in grief that she decided to give up her only cub out of despair. Nala agreed to raise the cub and tell everyone -including the cub- that she was it's mother.
