In a universe with an inexplicably accelerated heat death on the way, the Incubators are forced to become far more experimental with their contracts. This is a story about the lives of some of these experiments, and a reimagination of culture, language, epistemology, and fanfiction through their eyes.

When Homura realises she's gained new powers, her entire outlook on her situation flips on its head, and she manages to rekindle her friendship with Madoka and the rest back to what it once used to be. But as she struggles to control her abilities and understand the true nature of her power, it begins to dawn on her that not all is as it seems about her and the world they live in.

Sayaka Miki is a less than stellar student. You would consider her grades pretty average- if you intended to insult the student body of Mitakihara Middle. Homura Akemi, on the other hand, is standing at the top of all her classes, and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. After a day of begging both parties, one Madoka Kaname convinces Homura to tutor Sayaka.
