(AU) Gotham City, 1981. A lonely man by the name of Arthur Fleck sees his life changed by his lovely and young neighbour, Harleen Quinzel. His meeting with this recently graduated psychologist will unleash new, intense feelings in him he cannot bring to properly understand while struggling with a history of abuse that will eventually lead him to insanity.

"Why are you laughing, Arthur ? - Even if I told you...you wouldn't get it." He was a killing joke. He was the Joker.

AU. Travis never goes to New York, but is still a taxi driver. Arthur quits his job as a party clown, but never becomes the Joker. Both of them meet in Gotham City when they are very young and meet up years later in a small town in Pennsylvania. Rated M for slash romance, language, and violence.

Travis finds himself in Arkham 5 years after the events in Taxi Driver. There he meets Arthur, a self-confessed killer. But nothing is what it appears.
