The Defenders of the Earth deal with soul stealing bat creatures known as Reapers and it becomes a race against time when Rick has his spirit stolen protecting Jedda as the Defenders must retrieve the stolen spirits by sunrise or the victims will be gone forever.

Pressure becomes too much for Rick and he becomes stricken with illness from the stress, and Flash feels guilty on how he had pushed him.
