Everyone seeks to move forward. Manolito helps Ricardo and Maria find a new rancho. Blue adjusts to impending fatherhood. Everyone comes to grips with the new threats south of the border.

After coming north with the Cannons, Don Ricardo and Countess Maria seek to start their new life together. How will this work out? Can the Cannons and Montoyas help?

Worlds collide at Rancho Montoya. Two long lost family members accompany Don Ricardo back there. The Countess Maria returns from Europe. The Cannons drop in for their visit. Let the sparks fly...

Manolito and Blue ride around the rancho to survey the landscape. They discover the Apaches as well.

The Cannons and Montoyas celebrate Christmas. Meantime old friends in the clergy arrive in Tucson. Miguel opens the new church. There are more insights into Ricardo's crate and the trip to Old Los Angeles.

The Cannons and Montoyas receive wonderful news from San Francisco. Problem is will they be allowed to enjoy it?

This is just a little story about a not so excellent adventure John and Buck might have had when they were kids. The show is never says what they age gap between them is, so for my purposes, John is about 12/13 in this story and Buck is 4/5 years younger. I think Ten Little Indians is an interesting HC episode in a lot of different ways. Including the insight and wisdom shown by Choddi. But, of course, it is mostly about the children and their impact on those on the ranch. This seemed like it might be a nice coda. Not my characters/no copyright infringement intended.

Before heading south for the weddings, the Cannons have issues to deal with. Don Ricardo, Manolito and Mercedes go to see the new rancho.

I was very saddened to hear of the death of Linda Crystal, whose portrayal of Vitoria was such an integral part of The High Chaparral. The perhaps surprising on-screen chemistry she and Leif Ericson shared was very different from other westerns of the time. This story is not exactly a tribute, but I hope it does her justice. After returning from Rancho Montoya, changes occur on the High Chaparral. How will everyone respond? Can they work together and benefit?

During their latest visit to Rancho Montoya, the Cannons run into Don Ricardo and Donna Lupe. How will Manolito deal with his prospective in-laws even as seeks their approval to marry Mercedes?

A brief conversation before "A Modest Proposal" that MAY lead to interesting future events.
