Pre-Laramie, featuring a young, sometimes impulsive Jess; in this way, I take liberty with his beloved character. You will recognize themes similar to Saints & Sinners, like Jess angst by the bucket loads.

This is a story about human endurance, hope and redemption. Two men meet in a prison. One, faced with years of deep, dark despair found the resiliency he needed to survive. The other found his moral compass. I don't own the characters of Laramie, I just like to expand their universe. Warning: Emotions are going to leap off the pages at you. So beware!

Vincent comes to Laramie, Wyoming, drifting until he finds what he is looking for - love. He is tired of conflict and simply wants peace. Like a hummingbird, he searches for sweet nectars. But when pleasure mixes with poison - all hell breaks loose. What will Jess Harper and Slim Sherman do about this stranger? Many mature, heavy topics, therefore marked as mature rating.

Jess's strange behavior is worrying everyone. The reason for it, and the balm for it, are something the folks at Sherman Ranch didn't expect. (While I'm trying to overcome writer's block for a sequel to a previous story, this separate vignette suddenly formed in my imagination, and I had to write it right away. When you finish reading it, you'll see a note that explains why.)

A collection of short stories about saving the lives that make up Laramie. Each "chapter" is a COMPLETE story, with the saving theme in each. If you have something you would like to see, let me know and I'll do my best to put it into words. By the way, I intend to add on new chapters until I run out of ideas, which, you know, might be never!

Both Slim and Jess are attracted to the same beautiful woman, but her startling secret stuns everyone at Sherman Ranch. After a brutal attack leaves Jess courageously clinging to life, fears must be faced, promises tested, and difficult decisions made. Will things change in ways that are treasured or tragic? And unlikely meeting between Slim and Jess during the Civil war. Rated T for some roughness, mild cursing.

After Jess was injured by a falling tree during a storm, he wandered far from home and eventually wound up in a shootout with the Bannisters and former friend Christy. The next time we see Jess is in the tag scene, recuperating at home on the porch. But what might have happened in between the shootout and the porch? And what did Slim and Daisy do while Jess was missing for days?

Sheriff Cory's hostility towards a prisoner has everyone concerned, including Mort himself. I am reposting this story due to finding a glaring mistake in the original story.

"He put two and two together, added eight dollars, a solid gold watch, and that's the answer he come up with." But this time the one who keeps the books came up with the wrong answer. Lucky for them, he eventually gets it right.

Jess meets trouble and a pretty girl on the road to Cheyenne. You will recognize some elements of Trigger Point and The Eli Bancroft Story (Wagon Trian). Mose has a fair amount of screentime in this one. Story inspired by an episode of The Rebel, but the episode's name escapes me.

He had done the right thing, the only thing he could do to protect his family and his country. The Price of Honor takes place in my own version of Laramie. It takes place after season 4, episode 27 (The Last Battleground) and attempts to answer the unspoken question "what happened next?" I do not own the characters of this show, I just like to fill in the blanks.

Jess is severely wounded, but his healing remains far away. (I am going to put a short warning on this one. While all of my stories contain forms of violence, I have stretched the ouches a bit this time. No gruesome descriptions are included, but for the sensitive readers, I do want you to know that I was meaner to Jess in this story.)

How far will Jess go when Slim's life is on the line? (This was written as a personal challenge for me, writing two complete and separate stories at the same time, the other being Run Jess Run. It was difficult to keep my focus on both, but I made it to the end...twice!)

Jess Harper's violent past catches up with him, bringing dangerous consequences. When the Sherman family and the town discover a gunslinger lives among them, will Jess lose his chance for a home and family? (Complete two-part story. Part Two begins in Chapter 13.)

This is the same Saints and Sinners story. However, it is all six parts compiled into one piece. I intended to separate this into chapters as well (a daunting task), but I cannot figure out how to do that as I upload the story from a separate writing platform. At any rate, I hope you enjoy reading the story if you haven't already.

A year after Jess settles in at the ranch, a member of the Sherman household realizes some questions about the war may be better left unanswered. Inspired by the great episode "The Replacement," this story reimagines Captain Halleck's arrival happening while Andy and Jonesy are still home. This story can be understood without seeing the episode, but it may have a couple spoilers.

This is a continuation of the Missing Scenes for Return to Rock Springs. You will need to read Return to Rock Springs and the first three missing scenes first before this segment.
