This comes in response from my readers that discovered a major flaw in Thirty Days that had nothing to do with a typo. I didn't write a reunion for Jess and Traveler. Wanting to mend the mistake, I could've added a couple of lines at the end of the story, but that would've been too easy. So I turned it into its own story. Please read Thirty Days first, as this is set where it ends.

"A Sound of Bells" begins on Christmas Eve, with the army locked in an ugly and dangerous struggle with the Sioux. Slim wonders if the presents they sent to Andy got there in time; Jess says he's glad Andy isn't on the incoming stage. This story is about the correspondence between Daisy Cooper and Mort Cory during the time of Jess Harper's disappearance. In order to understand this story, you'll need to read The Reluctant Imposter and Slim's Journal first as the characters and plot lines intertwine. Inspired by a reviewer, the story has multiple chapters each containing a letter and POV of the writer.

Slim is riding shotgun on a stage that will never make it to Laramie. (Fanfiction's site gave me repeated error messages while posting this story, so hopefully you will have more success reading it than I had publishing it!)
