This is a series of what could have happened. Alternative episode endings, scenes that should've been explored further, or in between episode scenarios we wished happened. This will be heavy on Booth and Bones storylines and very light on the crime plots.

My entry into Bonesology's 2020 Winter Holiday Challenge. 31 Chapters of Bones each featuring a word as a theme either in the title, story, or idea. A phone call awakens Sweets in the middle of the night. Booth is pissed that Sweets told him to go for Brennan when she clearly intended on rejecting him. "Silence echoes through the still room. Story is AU. Set right after Season 4. Brennan is devastated from the news that's delivered to her at the hospital. A month later, she receives a phone call with surprising news. Feeling brokenhearted and desperately wanting to be close in some way to the man she loved, she makes a decision that will shock everyone.

It's January 2005. Booth has just returned from a 4 year stint in Afghanistan to live with his wife and son in Chicago. Tempe Brennan is studying a postrgraduate degree in Forensics at Northwestern University, reluctantly moonlighting as a babysitter. Booth and Tempe have different goals, different priorities, and different lives, but what they both need most of all is a friend.

He told her not to make any rash decisions, that this case was bigger than a root canal, then suggested a vacation & something about fruity drinks. But she's Dr. Temperance Brennan & the best she can do is a working vacation, Title 18 section 1831 means she's dragging Booth with her all the way to Thailand. I've been re-watching Bones and I really didn't like how the writers showed us Sweets with a bit of spine and then took it away again after Gormogon. These are scenes where I felt that Sweets should have his spine back.

In an altered timeline, Hannah and Booth broke up in late summer or early fall. Christmastime has arrived, but Booth and Brennan's relationship is not where either of them want it to be. Will the magic of the season and a little interference from Angela take care of that? Written for the Bonesology 2020 Christmas Challenge. 31 words used in 31 chapters create one story.

Season 6. What would have happened if Brennan overheard Booth and Hannah at the bar in The Body in the Bag? "It's so much easier being shot at than dealing with things like this..." That light moment thrusts Brennan into an emotional tailspin that sends her off on a journey through her past. NOW COMPLETE.

Sometimes things in life seem random, but when taken all together they form a beautiful picture, much like pieces of a crazy quilt. These chapters are of various lengths and styles, some with a hint of fantasy. They may seem loosely linked, but things will come together in the end. Set in Season 6 after Hannah has left. Booth and Brennan are preparing for the holidays.

In this season 5 Booth and Brennan love story, Brennan uses the hallucinogenic peyote to explore her feelings for Booth. In a dreamlike-trance so palpable that Brennan is fooled into thinking it is reality, she and Booth begin a "friends with benefits" arrangement. When she wakes up, will she have the courage to act on what she discovers?

These stories are my contributions to the 2020 Winter Holiday Bones Story Challenge. May those who read them gain a little enjoyment and a momentary break from the horrid virus which has affected all our lives this year. Here's hoping the New Year sees it ending soon.

This is my stab at the Bonesology winter/holiday challenge 2020-21. The challenge runs December 1 2020 thru February 28 2021.

AU, set in season 3. Bones & Booth find two bodies in a cornfield who happen to be connected to a drug cartel (Calaveras) when investigating they find a neglected little girl who knows too much.
