A bad day at Rampart gets even worse for Dixie and then Johnny. An angry patient takes out their frustration on the kind nurse once she's let her guard down, and Johnny manages to get caught up in the middle. After the damage is done it's up to Roy, Dr. Brackett, Dr. Morton and Dr. Early to save their friends and figure out what had happened.

Johnny panted, resting for a moment. While he paused his climb up the mountain face, he chanced a look down. The ground was far beneath him, but the last ridge he had come across was twenty feet down, with the next closest ridge still ten feet above.

He heard another crack from the rifle a second before he felt an agonizing, deep burn in the back of his leg. He cried out in pain as his leg gave out beneath him and he tumbled hard to the ground. Blinking back the tears of pain, he cast a quick furtive glance behind him, and saw his tormentor moving closer, getting into position for the kill.

Sometimes life doesn't turn out like you planned it to. What happens when the rescuer becomes the victim?

1975. When an angry criminal seeks revenge on the paramedics of Station 51, lives are on the line and the bond of brotherhood between Johnny and Roy is put to the test. No slash.

Gage misses an important day and by doing so, badly hurts the feelings of someone important to him. Roy picks up the slake, but fixing the damage later and preventing future issues present problems of their own. The Spiritual side of John's Native Heritage gets explored a bit as well. If you read something you know you don't like, then whinge, I WILL mock you.

We have come as far as we can go and now Johnny and I are balancing on the lip of a storage tank with no way to climb up, and no way to climb down and we both realize that our only escape from the heat and flames that want to consume us is by jumping. Roy's thoughts before he was forced to jumped in the fourth season episode - 'Details'.

However, what if he decided to do some work behind the scenes so that that decision wasn't in play down the road? We shall see…This starts the day after Johnny and Roy were hurt.
