Thomas Lynell accidentally finds himself in Kilkenny in 1650 and must find a way back home while protecting his new family from harm.

When Robyn is kidnapped and taken away the others are worried. Especially when they find out that she is the grand prize in hunting competition. Determined to rescue her friend, Mebh infiltrates the competition, posing as a contestant. There she meets Paidrag, an old enemy of Robyn. However when another contestant, Jay becomes a wolf walker, he has a change of heart.
