Set five years before Pride and Prejudice. Women and maids from neighboring estates have been going missing for months. Fitz Darcy comes upon a mysterious lady on the edge of the Pemberley estate with no memory of who she is and where she came from. Darcy's father invites her to live at Pemberley when all manner of chaos ensues. Mystery/comedy/drama.

Why does Darcy stare out of windows? Inspired by elag's "Missing" and Colin Firth's performance in the 1995 BBC miniseries version.

The author's take on the 'Elizabeth saves Georgiana in Ramsgate' trope. Mr Darcy was not so keen on the idea of Georgiana spending time with an ill-mannered country girl. And Elizabeth could not figure out how two such different people - Darcy and Georgiana - could ever be related! AU. E/D. HEA.

Part 4b. Alternative to “A Grateful Couple or Perhaps Two”. If you would rather not have Mrs B showing her gratitude to Mr B, this is a safer sequel. “Ppppfffffttttt!” can be taken as Mr B’s expression of dry sarcasm or him trying not to laugh at his wife. Only the last section is different. Thank you.

What would happen if Mr. Darcy had an old family friend who's family was the Bennets? Would he be just as harsh? Would Elizabeth still think him a cold man? Would Wickham be the man that he is? Who really knows, but Colonel Fitzwilliam seems to be taken with her. *slowly working on*

Part 4a. I originally envisioned Mrs B showing her gratitude to Mr B by giving him a smooch or a tight hug or both, spontaneously, then Mr B is taken by surprise and sounds out “ppppffffttttt!”. But some might feel that is cringey. So I offer an alternative which will be in another post. Choose your own ending-type.
