Everything L.M.M Montgomery wrote, until convocation in Anne of the Island, happened. The rest thereafter, did not. Gilbert never contracted typhoid.

I am 100% a fan of Anne and Gilbert, but I've always had a soft spot for Morgan Harris and have wondered if Anne could have loved him.
