Chapter 1: Japan is illogical

Cybertron

Once, a wise Cybertronian stated a rather controversial opinion that resonated with some or was deemed false by others. This statement was: One cannot progress until one could fully master their control over their emotions.

In all of his years working as the Decepticon's leading scientist, Shockwave believed in this philosophy to a tee. He had manually stripped himself of all of his emotions in order to do the best work he could possibly do as a scientist. To him, emotions were illogical, and that was best seen in other Decepticons like Starscream.

He never cared much for the emotionally filled dribble that the Decepticon seeker spat out half of the time. Regardless of that, he did have to commend the second-in-command for one thing, and that was that he had a way with words that even he couldn't fully comprehend, in spite of his emotional failings.

However, in Starscream's infinite wisdom, he had accidentally led the Autobots to the only working and questionably stable space bridge on Cybertron by opening his big mouth during a battle with the Autobots. He had told his surrounding troops to 'head for the space bridge,' which was enough to make the Autobots follow.

He would need to make Starscream realize the errors of his ways after he dealt with the Autobots in question. After all, they were priority number one. He needed to make sure that the Autobots couldn't destroy or use the space bridge. If they did, it would set the Decepticons back for a sizable amount of time.

Therefore, his attention was solely focused on them.

It was only logical.

Taking aim with his hyperflux canon, he fired a shot at the Autobot named Arcee. The shot missed, as she had dodged to the right. In response, the Autobot scout fired several scatter shots at the Decepticon scientist.

If he had the capacity to respond with emotion, he would've chuckled a bit at the effort. His armour was strong enough to handle such tiny pea shots.

He fired another shot, it again missing Arcee but hitting another bot in the process. Out of the fifteen remaining Autobots, one down wasn't good enough. He fired multiple times into the crowd, making them scatter. He downed two more, which was effective.

However, he had forgotten about Arcee, who had now snuck up behind him. She jumped on his back and pointed her now transformed handgun into his face, firing several shots. The shots annoyed him, and they slightly damaged his optic, but it wasn't enough to stop him.

Grabbing onto her leg, Shockwave threw the Autobot scout off of him, but by then, he had already become too distracted to realize that the Autobot wrecker, Bulkhead, had closed in on him. His right hand had turned into a wrecking ball, and it punched him in the chest.

He was losing this fight, which was illogical.

Taking to his feet, he fired another blast from his hyperflux canon at the Autobots, but by then, it was too late. The Autobot wrecker beat him back again, knocking him closer to the space bridge.

It was time to escape. It was only logical.

His damaged optic made it hard for him to see, but that didn't mean he was deaf, nor did it mean that his sense of feeling was gone either. As he entered the space bridge, he could feel just how unstable it had gotten during the fight.

How this happened illuded Shockwave, which only served to confuse the scientist. He felt that the other Autobots had followed in his footsteps, all taking the space bridge to the planet that they were retreating to.

Foolish Autobots. He would follow them to where they were going, and after repairing himself, he would finish them off so that they would never bother the Decepticons again.

However, as he continued further into the space bridge, it became far more unstable than before. He hadn't realized just how unstable it was as he was passing through it.

To make matters even worse than they already were, he lost his footing somewhere along the way, and he had fallen. Once he had fallen, he found it increasingly difficult to get up. The damage to his optic must have done more damage than he had realized.

He slowly began to lose consciousness as the space bridge began to collapse further.

He only had one thought as his consciousness became sparse.

This was all illogical.

(X)(X)(X)(X)

Shockwave awoke.

Although, if there were a saying that he remembered, waking up on the wrong side of the stasis pod would be one that definitely fit here.

He took a moment to familiarize himself with his current surroundings, which seemed like that of a medical pavilion. There were pictures of red crosses and other medical-related symbols. A quick scan of the area resulted in him sensing that around him was organic life.

It wasn't just a small amount of organic life either. It was a massive amount. It was almost to the point that it was beginning to overload his sensors.

He decided that right now, finding out where he was would be more important than figuring out why he could not sense a single hint of cyber nucleic acid in the area.

But even before that, he needed to know of his current condition. Looking at his hand, he noticed that there was some sort of wire connected to it and that his arm looked… organic.

This was illogical.

He also noticed that on his arm was some sort of purple piece of fabric. His left arm was pale in complexion; the only thing metal about it was his hand. He assumed that the rest of his body was this same colour and that it was also organic. He looked over at his arm, and a part of him became relieved.

On his right, he had retained his hyperflux canon, which was switched into a hand for the current moment in time. Now, it was time to reveal what the rest of his body appeared to look like. Flipping off the covering that was on him, a white fabric of sorts, he realized that he was covered in a purple cloth that slightly reminded him of his armour.

The cloth covering his chest was light purple, with the upper chest having a slightly darker colour of purple on it. The lower cloth covering his legs and waist were the same, minus the darker purple. Essentially, he was covered head to toe in purple, just like he was before.

However, that wasn't his issue. His issue was the fact that he was organic, save for his right arm, left hand, and presumably his optic and brain.

"This is quite the predicament I find myself in," he stated calmly. Taking the wire out of his left arm, he stood up from the thing he was just on. He had no idea what to call this thing he saw before him. Whatever it was, he needed not care about it.

He did a simple walk-around test. Every joint in his legs seemed functional. His arms were most definitely functional. All he needed to see was his face.

He didn't have to walk far to find a reflective surface, in which he finally got to see his face. For the most part, his optic remained the same. A black surface with a single red dot in the center, but the rest confused him. His antennas were still there, leaving his hacking abilities still intact, but on his head were some sort of thin fibres.

Again, this was illogical.

It was now completely obvious to him that he was organic as of now, and until he could find a way to reverse this, he would have to do some research as to what his limits were. He knew that, unlike cybernetic bodies, organic bodies had limits, so he had to test his own.

But that could wait for now.

Now, he had to find out where he was and why he was in a medical pavilion. He was already within the limits of society, as once he took one good look out the window of the building he was in, he could see buildings and busy streets, all full of organics. This at least clued him into one thing. He was on a planet filled to the brim with organic life.

"This is all illogical," Shockwave spoke, his voice still seemingly slightly robotic but with a hint of a dialect more custom to that of an organic. Around this time, he heard a door open, and a small, frail-looking organic had walked into the room wearing a white fabric of sorts, along with using a big needle as a sort of cane to help it with walking.

"Oh, you're out of bed already? And you've detached yourself from the IV? I thought you were completely unconscious?" The old organic spoke softly as Shockwave narrowed his optic.

"I am in perfect functioning order. I am simply confused. Now tell me, organic, where am I?" Shockwave asked in a blunt tone, causing the old organic to furrow her eyebrows in response.

"Well, last time I checked, we are both organic, aside from your mechanical prosthetics. Treat this old nurse with some respect, will you?" The older organic said as Shockwave took a second to recollect himself.

"My apologies. I find myself in a rather precarious position. My lashing out only comes from my confusion. But do tell, what is your name, so that I may stop referring to you as 'organic,'" Shockwave stated as the older organic smiled lightly.

"Chiyo Shunzeji, but most people call me Recovery Girl," the now introduced Recovery Girl said as Shockwave nodded.

"Then please, call me by my alias, Shockwave, Recovery Girl," Shockwave spoke with finality in his tone of voice as the older organic hummed with acknowledgement.

"Well then, Shockwave, might I ask why you're currently not recovering? When we found you unconscious, I did a preliminary scan, and you seemed fairly unwell," Recovery Girl started as Shockwave listened closely. "You seem to be malnourished, and you're lacking rest. You also have experienced minor blood loss, but that is neither here nor there," Recovery Girl continued as Shockwave tuned her out, doing his own self-scan.

She was right. According to his scan, he would need nourishment and suitable rest. He quickly learned that being an Organic would be much more of a task than he had originally believed.

"I see. However, that can be dealt with at a later date," Shockwave interrupted the nurse as she looked up at him. "My only concern is figuring out where I am and how I got here. For now, those are my main objectives. I have what you might call, amnesia."

Shockwave knew that right now, lying would get him what he wanted. He couldn't just tell her that he was an alien from another planet. That would be highly illogical and also make her think that he was clinically insane.

"Ah, I see. Well, Mr. Shockwave, you are currently at U.A. Highschool. The top hero school in all of Japan," Recovery Girl stated as Shockwave narrowed his optic sharply at this.

"Tell me more about this 'Japan,' you speak of," Shockwave remarked as Recovery Girl pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Well, Japan is a country located on the eastern side of Earth's hemisphere, and is the eleventh most populated country. You're currently in Musutafu City. Is there anything else you want to know, or will that be all for now?" Recovery Girl stated sarcastically as Shockwave hummed.

"Yes, that is all I need to know for now. Thank you for your time," The Decepticon scientist said as the older organic grumbled.

"You still need to rest for a little while longer. Then you can be discharged from here," The older Organic said, walking out of the room as Shockwave silently nodded.

This was illogical. In fact, as far as he was concerned, when he heard the word 'hero' and 'school' mixed together in the same sentence, he questioned the validity of what the older woman was saying.

"This requires more research into the matter," Shockwave stated bluntly as he walked around the small medical pavilion. Almost immediately after taking a quick look around, he spotted a computer. The computer was small, flat, and only had a screen about the same size as the smallest screened computer on Cybertron. He would need to know all it is that he could about the surrounding world around him, now that he was on a different planet.

Due to his mechanical brain, he could quite easily hack into any electronic nearby by sending out invisible brainwaves via his antennas. He quickly got to work, hacking into the small computer in front of him, bypassing the firewalls and any sort of security with very little challenge.

After the hacking was complete, he walked up to the small computer and began typing away on the keyboard. While the language was something he was slowly adjusting to, it wasn't all that hard to understand. In this case, the symbols, or letters, looked remarkably similar to Cybertronian, so reading it and writing in it wasn't all that difficult. Listening to others talk would also net him an easy way to mimic and copy how the people talked.

He finally got what he was looking for, and after quickly reading about what heroes were, Shockwave also, in turn, learned about 'Quirks.' From what he was aware of, Quirks were owned by 80% of the whole world, and 20% of the world's population did not have a Quirk, and each year, that gap was shrinking.

Heroes were people who risked their lives to capture villains who broke the law and caused chaos and havoc. The government paid heroes to do so, and they had licenses to perform these actions. In the same breath, vigilantes, or illegal heroes, did this job for free and expected nothing out of it.

Yet, they were also labelled as villains for doing the same thing heroes did.

In conclusion, this was all illogical.

Heroes were illogical, and the government, in turn, was also illogical for making vigilantes criminals. However, villains were also illogical. In other words, Quirks were illogical.

The earliest known Quirk to exist was recorded around 150 years ago in this planet's time. Meaning, after all these years, the organics should have either figured out either to control the number of Quirks in the world's populous or made it so that Quirks were more strictly regulated.

However, clearly, this was not the case. Again making this illogical in the eyes of the Decepticon scientist. He would have to learn more about this at a later date. His next plan of action was to discretely hack into the government's list of people that exist as citizens.

Surely, the people at this medical pavilion would more than likely try and learn about this mystery patient that appeared in their care. He was able to hide himself completely as he hacked into the system, bypassing several firewalls and the admittedly weak security.

He allowed himself access to whatever it was that he needed. He found a template for a citizen submission slip and saw the things he needed. Name, job, original place of residence, the amount of money he made at his job, and his passport.

"This has suddenly become slightly more complicated than what I thought…." Shockwave muttered as he spotted the camera's in front of him. He hacked into it and the others in the surrounding area to play a constant 30-second loop of him hunched over the computer.

The inferior technology was laughable, he couldn't fathom what kind of tech this school used to protect its students, but if it was anything like this, anyone could possibly dismantle it within seconds. Then again, that was assuming, of course, if they even had a tenth of his intelligence.

He quickly made up a passport that seemed to be legitimate after comparing his fake one to similar real passports that he saw amongst the other 'immigrating' citizens. All he needed was a name, a job, and a relative income amount for said job.

For the job, he filled in 'scientist,' and for the income amount, he searched through the other documents for other scientists that allowed him to see what amount would sound believable. He found one that stated that a scientist made about 500k 'yen' a year. Filling in that statement, he was finally met with two more things.

Place of prior residence, and name…

Those would be hard to fill out. He couldn't put 'Cybertron' as his former place of residence since that was a different planet in general, so he had to think of a quick plan. If he remembered correctly, his copy of the passport he made was a digital U.S.A. passport. All he needed to do was find a dead name of a random U.S.A. citizen.

After a quick search, he found one that was of his liking. Shaun Watts. According to the statement, Shaun Watts was only presumed to be dead, not officially dead. So he could easily masquerade as Shaun Watts until the real Shaun Watts turned up dead or was found alive. He also set the age of himself as the same age as the supposedly missing Shaun Watts, that being of a 24 year old male organic.

With all the needed information filled out, he added himself to the database of legalized citizens of Japan and exited out of the program. He also set the cameras back to constant surveillance as he closed the computer.

Not only did he find the government illogical, but their defences, their system, and the way they run things was also completely illogical to the Decepticon scientist. Quirks were illogical, and the regulations on Quirks were too lenient. Heroes were illogical, as were villains. The entire situation was illogical to him.

Ultimately, Shockwave's opinion on the matter was this:

"Japan is illogical," Shockwave stated to himself.

This story is HEAVILY inspired by 'Professor Shockwave,' an RWBY x Transformers fanfic with the same premise. I highly recommend you go check it out. There are some grammatical errors, but the work is still amazing nonetheless.

This concept is one that I plan to carry out till its natural conclusion. This is more of a fun thing for me to do, so there is that. There will be semi-regular updates, but I can't promise even that.

If you have any thoughts and opinions on this (First?) chapter, then let me know in the reviews.

Until then, see you later.
