A/N: I found this on an old thumb drive of mine. I completely forgot about it since I haven't watched anything since Zugzwang and fell away from the fandom. I've grown as a writer since I wrote this, but I think it still stand up. It's just a quick little oneshot based off my all time favorite episode Nameless Faceless. Just let me know what you think in the reviews. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this.

Spencer Reid laid on Dr. Barton's front yard, bleeding. He had just been shot. What a horrible realization for him. He started to reach for his gun but it was out of reach. Dr. Barton quickly handed it to him.

"Put the gun down now," Reid ordered the grief stricken Unsub who had just shot him.

"He killed my son," Myers cried, as he tightened his grip around a gun.

"He did not kill your son," Reid said, trying to keep his voice calm and steady. "Your son was killed by a car accident."

"Stand up," Myers ordered Barton.

"I'm going to ask you again, I do not want to shoot you, so please drop the gun," Reid ordered back.

"Stand up, you coward," Myers yelled.

"Mr. Meyers listen to me, it's over. Dr. Barton did not kill your son. Your son was killed by a car and this not what he would want. Ok? So drop the gun, please," Reid said as pain laced his voice.

Meyers wavered for a moment and lowered the gun in the process, but showed no intention of dropping it. Just then sirens filled the air from a distance and Meyers looked back at the young agent who was protecting the man who he had meant to shoot.

"Don't do it," Reid said with pure concern and pain.

Meyers once again raised his gun and aimed it at them and said, "I'm sorry."

Just then Reid pulled the trigger of his gun. Meyers fell. Reid tossed his gun to the side and placed his left hand over his right shoulder. Barton came out from behind Reid and started to try and help him.

"I'm fine," Reid stated, as he waved his hand in Meyers direction. "Go to him. Go to him."

Barton nodded before standing up and running over Meyers.

"Kick his gun away. Make sure his gun isn't near him," Reid said, as he saw Barton turn Meyers over and toss the gun to the side.

The sirens grew louder and louder. Reid slowed his breathing some to try and ease the pain. It wasn't working.

"The medics are almost here. Can you keep him stabilized?" Reid called out to Barton.

"Yes, I think so," Barton said.

Seconds later police cars and an ambulance pulled up. Barton looked over at the EMT's getting out and said, "We need a back board and a C-collar."

"Coming right up," an EMT replied, as he pulled a bag out of the side of the ambulance.

Barton quickly told them what to do before getting up and rushing back over to Reid. Barton bent down next to Reid to look at his wound and said, "Let me see."

Just as Reid was moving his hand away a black sedan pulled up with a black SUV right behind it.

Barton examined the wound and said, "It looks like it went clean through."

Reid looked at Barton and said, "You might have just saved his live."

"Keep pressure on this ok," Barton stated.

Reid looked past Barton and saw JJ, Morgan, Rossi and Barton's son, "I'm good. I'm fine. Go to your son. I'm good. I'm fine. Go."

Barton then got up and jogged over to his son and gave him a hug saying, "Jeffery."

Reid winced in pain as he started to apply pressure to the wound again.

JJ ran over Reid, "Are you ok?"

Morgan and Rossi were right behind her.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Reid replied, as JJ knelt down next to him.

Morgan bent down to pick up Reid's gun, looking at his young friend with concern and said, "We'll get you to a hospital."

"You need to find Emily," Reid stated with a wince as he tried to apply more pressure to his shoulder. "Call Emily."

"Where is she?" Rossi asked.

Reid looked up at the older profiler, "Something's happened to Hotch."

No sooner had the words left his mouth, another ambulance pulled up. Reid's vision started to blur. He was beginning to lose consciousness and he knew it.

"I need you guys to step back," one of the medics ordered the three agents as they approached the wounded young man.

The three of them stepped back. They watched as Reid was laid down on the grass. They watched as the medic applied pressure to the genius' shoulder. They listened to him groan in pain. They watched as they saw their best friend and youngest team member get placed on a stretcher. They watched as he was rushed into an ambulance. And they watched as the ambulance sped away taking him to the hospital. All they could do now was nothing.

In the ambulance Reid fought stay awake, but eventually he lost the fight and lost consciousness.

JJ, Morgan and Rossi sat in the waiting room of St. Sebastian Hospital and waited to hear the news about Reid's condition.

They had already talked to Hotch and gotten Haley and Jack safe. Now all they could do was wait to hear about Reid.

"Spencer Reid?" a doctor said, walking into the waiting room two hours later.

"Yes," the three answered in unison as they stood up.

"The bullet ripped all the way through his right shoulder tearing muscle and bone. He lost a lot of blood. We were eventually able to get the bleeding under control and repair the damages. Given time and a lot of physical therapy he should be just fine," the doctor told them.

Relief washed over the agents' face's.

"Is he awake yet?" JJ asked.

"He woke up long enough for us to tell him what I just told you, but then he fell right back to sleep. He will probably sleep through the night and wake up sometime tomorrow. You can see him when he wakes up," The doctor said, before walking away.

The three of them were silent for a few moments, then Rossi broke the silence.

"I'll inform Hotch and Emily," Rossi said, before walking out of the waiting room

Now only JJ and Morgan stood there in the waiting room. Morgan took out his phone and said "I'll call Garcia."

JJ just stood there alone now. There was no one on the team she could inform. She could inform Strauss, but that was not call she wanted to make. She had three choices: one, stay there, two, go home and sleep in an empty apartment, or three, beg the doctors to let her stay with Reid for awhile, so she could keep the team updated.

She went with choice number three. JJ left the waiting room and went to catch up with the doctor that just talked to them.

"Excuse me, doctor," JJ said, catching up to the doctor.

"Yes. What can I do for you, Agent?" The doctor replied, turning around to face the young blonde.

"Would it be possible if I could just stay in his room, that way I can keep tabs on him and update the team if anything happens?" JJ wondered.

"I would advise against it, but given the circumstances, I suppose, I could look the other way just this once," the doctor replied.

"Thank you. What room is he in?" JJ asked.

"He is in... room number... 718," the doctor said before walking away.

JJ walked down to his room, sat in a nearby chair, and waited for her best friend to wake up.
