Sirius returned to the room after saying goodbye to the others and sighed as he sank into a chair across from Remus. "So, what are you going to do now? Got anywhere to go?"

Remus looked up at the other and took a second before nodding. "I'll be fine, you don't have to worry about me." He told him before standing up and putting on his cloak. "I should probably get going now too, I'll see you around." He told him and left before the other had a chance to respond.

Sirius frowned as he watched his friend, he knew that Remus had never exactly had an easy time of things and although he was able to help him now the werewolf seemed to be pulling further away.

Even though he spent so many years thinking of the male as he spy he still found himself sometimes worrying about him during his time in Azkaban, and ever since they had reconnected his worry only continued to grow. The full moon was only a few days away and he offered to help him in any way but Remus just wouldn't accept it, having gotten used to being alone.

Ever since learning of the werewolfs secret as a teen Sirius found it hard to sleep during the full moons and this time wasn't any different, the storm outside only making it worse. He tried to calm himself down with tea or by reading but he was just too restless and eventually resorted to tidying up.

Just after dawn he heard a knock on the door and although he knew the chances of him coming here were slim he still found himself rushing to open it. Although Remus was soaked and bleeding as he stoon there in his ragged clothes Sirius visibly relaxed as he stepped aside to let him in.

"I didn't know where else to go." Remus said nervously as he fidgeted with the sleeve of his cloak, not looking at the male. "I can leave if I'm imposing on anything." He told him as he started to leave.

Sirius just laughed as he reached out to grab the other by the hand. "You idiot, get in here." He said gently as he pulled him inside and grabbed a towel, starting to dry off the males hair. "Maybe yo haven't changed as much as I thought.

Remus just stared up at him from under the towels, memories he once thought lost came back into focus of the other often doing this same thing during their school days, the werewolf had never been great at taking care of himself and rarely took the time to dry his hair properly.

He snapped out of his thoughts when he saw the others had waving in front of his face. "So you are still with me." Sirius grinned. "I was saying that we need to get you dried off, I have some pjs that you can borrow for now, go get changed while I make the tea." He told him before watching as Remus slowly made his way up the stairs.

When Remus finally returned half an hour later he had changed into something dry but Sirius sighed when he saw that his lips were blue. "All this time alone and you still haven't gotten the hang of taking care of yourself." He teased as he made the male sit by the fire before wrapping him in a blanket and checking his wounds. "At least it doesn't look like you hurt yourself too badly." He said before handing him the tea and dropping down onto the spare couch. "You can use a spare room for as long as you like."

"Is that really what you want?" Remus asked him, just holding the cup of tea to warm up. "I'll be fine once the storm is over, I don't want to be a bother."

Sirius rolled his eyes and crossed one leg over the other. "C'mon Moons, I have more room that I know what to do with, even after Molly and Arthur bring their brood with them this summer there will be more than enough space." He told him

Remus smiled a little reluctantly and nodded as he leaned back, suddenly feeling exhausted.

Sirius noticed and smiled. "One drink for old times and then you're going to bed." He told him before summoning a bottle of whisky and two glasses, pouring them each some.

"Bed sounds wonderful." He said before picking up his own glass and finishing it in one swallow. "I guess I'll see you in the morning." He said as he stood, keeping the blanket wrapped around his shoulders and heading back upstairs

Sirius went upstairs a little while later and smiled slightly when he saw that the other was already fast asleep. He slept little himself and went to check on his friend every time he got up, trying to think of anything that he could do to help him.

Sirius did what he could for the male while he was there, making sure that he at least slept and ate properly, and when it came time for Remus to leave Sirius made sure the male knew that he had a place to come back to.

Over the next few months Remus started to pop in more frequently during his down time and stay longer around the full moons as he learned to be comfortable around the male again. For the most part is was just nice to always. Have a warm meal and dry bed whenever he wanted one but the arrangement came in most handy early the next spring when instead of greeting Sirius like usual after the full moon he collapsed into his arms.

His face was paler than usual as he clung to his friend and his breaths were heavy as he used what little strength he had left just to stay conscious.

Sirius' eyes grew wide as he felt the warm liquid trickle onto his hands and he supported his friend before laying him down on the couch. "What the hell happened?" He demanded when he saw the large cut across the others chest but didn't receive an answer.

He summoned a bottle of dittany that he had acquired specifically for these times and started poring it over the wound, ignoring the tight grip on his arm as Remus tried not to scream out in pain.

The wound slowly start to heal and Sirius wiped away the blood to see the faint claw marks, frowning as he realized that this his friend had done this to himself during the transformation.

The werewolf calmed down considerable but still held onto the other and Sirius smiled, memories of their teen years coming back. "You really haven't changed as much as you might think." He said as he cleaned both of them up before covering him with a blanket. He brushed the bangs from the now sleeping males face and just leaned back, not wanting to leave his side after having seen him like that.

When Remus woke he knew that it must be late but could still feel Sirius by his side and smiled a little. He changed his grip to now hold the males hand before falling back asleep quietly.

After losing his friends and family so close together Remus wasn't sure that he could ever be anything more than just content with life but now that he had reconnected with Sirius the werewolf was started to believe that he could be happy once again.
