I Demand to See Life's Manager

Once I heard that phrase uttered in dozens of fanfics, I knew that this was going to be a struggle. Time to make the most of it. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade...make life take the lemons back. SI as Naruto in a !Neglect Fic. This was deleted almost a year ago. I found the docs on a USB. Marked as complete as I will not update. Details in first chapter.

1. Author Notes

It's back again. Only changes made to this from the original is the deletion of the A/N. Story will be marked as complete as I will not be updating it. I do have a Work In Progress outline for a rewrite of this fic so if you want me to take another stab at this concept. Some of the things that I liked about this story (mainly Karin/SI interactions and SI bringing things from the current world to the Naruto world) will be more emphasized while other things will be toned down.

I have a poll on my bio at the top that will be open from 5/20/21 to 6/03/21. Vote there if you want me to rewrite the fic.

But, a little back story as to why I deleted it. Just about a year ago during the height of the pandemic, I was stuck at work. I was required to go in for my job, but there was basically job preparation. My job doesn't have a lot of responsibilities. After about a week of prep, I was basically done. (Side note, my friends at similar jobs were told to work from home while I still had to go in.) So, while I was on the Naruto Fanfic subreddit, someone posted a fic request of a self insert in a neglect fic. I was bored out of my mind so I thought, why the hell not? Thought of, wrote, proofread, and published the first chapter during an 8 hour work day. Rinse and repeat for the next few chapters. It was then where I took it from just a "This is what I see in a lot of neglect fics" to actually trying to write a decent stand alone fic.

In my opinion, it completely failed. It really was a multitude of things. One of the first challenges was just working on how to format the story and learning how to publish using FFN. But, the challenges grew as the chapters came out. Work was starting again so my 8 hours of boredom was relieved by work, I was wanting to write things in the future that would require edits to earlier chapters, and then to top it all off, because I was basically writing as I went, negative reviews started coming in and people started PMing me of wanting characters to be "forcefully hugged." As I was just doing this for fun in my free time, I just didn't want the attention anymore so I deleted it.

Then, in my free time I began writing the fluff Calvin and Hobbes/Naruto fic which better suited the short chapters that I could write in an afternoon where I was stuck at work. I am honestly a little sad I haven't updated that fic in awhile.

The following chapters is the complete story minus the author notes at the end and beginning of the chapter. This story will stay up and I will be looking at reviews if you want to give me more feedback on the poll and/or the story if you want it to come back.
