Chapter 1

It was supposed to be an easy mission. All I had to do was raid a warehouse, kill a few monsters, and steal their supplies. Simple? It should have been. Of course, I never expected a titan to be overseeing the shipment of weapon crates.

It was a stormy day. I suppose Zeus was just trying to irritate me (as if having a prophecy that states I might destroy Olympus isn't irritating enough). I had been preparing for this mission all week. I had sent sea creatures to watch the warehouse and had the Hermes cabin go in for reconnaissance during supply raids. I was totally ready, which was why something had to go wrong.

I was stunned. Of all the things that could go wrong on the mission, I did not expect this. Annabeth, my partner on this mission (who would be sneaking in to gain information while I attacked the warehouse), was furiously typing on her computer pulling up various battle plans that we had drawn up.

"We have nothing. We prepared so much but we don't have a plan in place for a Titan!? How could I have been so stupid?" Annabeth said furiously.

"To be fair I don't think any of us expected a Titan to show up," I muttered, trying to placate Annabeth. "I thought Chiron said that they would all be holed up building their forces or something."

"Well, obviously Chiron was wrong!" Annabeth snarled looking over at me.

"Hey, relax Wise Girl. We can think of something. We're good at that." I said in an attempt to calm her down.

She smirked a bit. "You mean I'm good at that, right Seaweed Brain?"

"Of course, you're the owl-head, not me," I reply with a smile.

I grab the binoculars that were hanging around my neck and look at the warehouse.

I think for a moment before saying, "There's a door around back. You can get in through there without being detected. I can head out to the water and come up from there. If I cause a big enough distraction, you can get in and out without being spotted."

"That's not a bad plan Percy," Annabeth starts to say.

"Thank you! I'm quite proud of it," I interject.

"But you're forgetting about the Titan. Can you distract him along with all the monsters?" Annabeth says, basically shutting down my plan.

"Give me a few minutes to think of something okay? Can you go IM Chiron with an update?" Annabeth asks with a thoughtful frown on her face.

I nod in acknowledgment and walk down the hill. I had a call to make.
