The music was loud, not that Chloe really cared. It was loud enough that any time Rachel wanted to say something to her, she had to lean in until her lips were almost touching Chloe's ear. Judging by the way Rachel would linger there even after she was done speaking, she knew exactly how it sent a thrill down Chloe's spine.
This wasn't Chloe's type of place - lights too bright with some dubstep shit was blaring. She had no idea how people enjoyed this scene. Maybe if she was drinking, it would be more tolerable, but she wasn't in the mood to wreck her truck tonight. But Rachel was certainly enjoying herself, and Chloe certainly enjoyed watching Rachel dance, so the night wasn't an entire waste of her time.
Or at least, Rachel was attempting to dance. She had had enough to drink at this point that what Rachel was doing was less "dancing" and more "flailing". She still seemed to be having the time of her life, though, and Chloe didn't feel like ruining the night by telling her she looked like an idiot.
Rachel suddenly lurched towards her, eyes bright and giggling as she stumbled into Chloe, throwing her arms around her chest. "Hey there, hot stuff," Rachel yelled, breath warm against the side of Chloe's neck as she planted a sloppy kiss there.
"Rach, I think you're about done," she laughed, trying to get an arm free so she could help keep Rachel upright.
"Done with this place?" Rachel's eyebrow raised suggestively as she pulled just far enough away to looking Chloe over, as if seeing her for the first time. "I like the way you think."
Chloe threw an arm around Rachel's shoulders to help steer her, knowing she was prone to wander off. "Alright, let's get out of here," she said, more to herself than Rachel, who had an arm of her own wrapped around Chloe's waist.
As they approached the truck, Rachel pulled away from her, grabbing her hand instead and walking backwards until her back was pressed against the door, trying to pull Chloe into her. Goddamn tease, Chloe thought to herself as Rachel smiled up at her, eyes half-lidded and alluring.
Chloe pulled Rachel away from the door just enough to be able to reach the handle and pull it open. She was careful to make sure Rachel was leaning into her and not the door, just to be sure she didn't tumble over. The blonde took the sudden closeness as an opportunity to press herself closer, arms slipping around Chloe's neck and trying to pull her head down to her level.
"Rach, not in the parking lot, okay?" Chloe muttered, gently peeling Rachel off of her and gesturing towards the now open door. Rachel, to her credit, let herself be pushed away, climbing up into the truck on her own. Chloe was quick to close the door and walk around the front of the truck, crossing her fingers that Rachel wouldn't decide to get out of the vehicle.
Fortunately, Rachel stayed in her seat, and a few moments later, Chloe was carefully pulling out of their parking spot. "Your place?" Rachel asked, voice noticeably slurring now that they were away from the loud music. Yeah, she's definitely going to crash hard once her head hits a pillow.
"Nah, step-douche will be there," Chloe muttered, a sour taste in the back of her throat at the thought. She couldn't stand the thought of seeing him in the first place, but bringing Rachel to the house - and especially a drunk Rachel - was a recipe for disaster if he happened to still be awake. "Let's get you back to Blackwell."
Rachel giggled, her head leaning against Chloe's shoulder as one of her hands rested just above Chloe's knee, fingers tracing patterns into the denim covering her inner thigh. "Oh, so you want an audience," Rachel murmured, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Rachel, I'm driving," Chloe reminded her, trying to ignore that hand creeping on her thigh.
"You could pull over," Rachel responded, breath warm against Chloe's ear. Goddamn it, she's gonna kill me one of these days.
Chloe shook her head quickly, shifting slightly as her desire protested what she was about to say next. "We're not doing anything while you're this wasted," she said firmly.
Rachel finally pulled her head back, and even if it was what Chloe wanted, she couldn't deny she felt disappointed. The hand on her thigh hadn't gone anywhere, though, a very warm reminder of Rachel's intentions. "I'm not wasted," Rachel pouted, using her free hand to flip her hair back.
Chloe snorted, risking a glance over at her. "Oh yeah?"
"'Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind,'" Rachel recited flawlessly, voice clear as she focused on her quote.
"That's impressive," Chloe commented, smirking. "Now say the alphabet backwards."
Rachel groaned as they pulled into the parking lot, finally sliding away as she fell backwards to rest dramatically against the door. Chloe's thigh was suddenly chilly from the lack of contact. "Why are you playing so hard to get?" Rachel complained, a foot lifting to poke at Chloe's knee.
Chloe sighed, shaking her head. "Do I have to say it again? You're drunk." She climbed out of her side of the truck, opening Rachel's door carefully to make sure she didn't fall out. "C'mon, let's get up to your room." It was a long walk back to the dorms, especially with Rachel hanging off of her, but she'd done it before.
She had barely gotten the dorm room door closed before Rachel was on her, hand threading up into Chloe's blue locks and knocking her beanie off her head. Not that Chloe cared about the hat - she was more preoccupied with Rachel's lips against hers, still tasting like Fireball, and her other hand tantalizingly trailing down Chloe's stomach, on a very definite path towards her belt buckle.
Before that hand could creep anywhere further, Chloe shoved her own between the two of them, grabbing Rachel's wrist. "Rachel, I'm serious, not tonight."
"C'mon, please?" Rachel was batting her eyes, a little pout growing on her face. Any other time, that would have probably been enough for Chloe to give in.
Chloe sighed, glancing around the room to avoid making eye contact. Rachel normally had a one track mind, but this was getting ridiculous. "How 'bout this - we get snuggled up, and if you're still awake in fifteen minutes, we can do something."
Rachel started grinning, confidently unbuttoning her shorts and wiggling out of them before yanking her shirt off as well, climbing under the sheets quickly. Chloe was momentarily dumbfounded before automatically stripping down to her underwear as well, slipping under the covers. Rachel was quick to slide herself close, grabbing one of Chloe's arms to use as a pillow before burying her face into Chloe's neck, casually leaving a trail of kisses that did not make Chloe sleepy in the slightest.
Chloe, of course, knew Rachel all too well - it was maybe five minutes later that Rachel was fast asleep, lips pressed against Chloe's collarbone. Chloe bit back a snicker, shifting slightly to get more comfortable before slipping off to sleep herself.
When she next opened her eyes, the sun was peeking lazily through the curtains. Rachel hadn't moved much during the night, still trapping Chloe's arm underneath her. She always enjoyed waking before Rachel; there was something oddly satisfying in watching her with no filter, with her guard down.
Rachel's nose crinkled as her eyes fluttered open, looking back at Chloe with a little surprise. "Well, hello there," she said quietly, voice cracking a little. "Always nice to wake up to a pretty face."
"I know the feeling," Chloe remarked, pleased when she saw the slightest flush of red across Rachel's cheeks. "How much do you remember from last night?"
"Enough." Her lips were curled in an amused smile, one hand lifting up to start playing with Chloe's hair. "Thanks, by the way. I probably should start laying off the drinks when we go out."
"But you have so much fun," Chloe teased, using her foot to gently whack at Rachel's shin.
Rachel slowly pushed herself up onto her elbow before sliding one leg over Chloe's lap, straddling her. It was a sudden realization on Chloe's behalf that they were still in their underwear. "But then I don't get to do things like this," Rachel said conversationally, leaning down to graze her lips against Chloe's neck.
Chloe couldn't help but gulp as an immediate response, heartbeat pounding in her ears and drowning out most logical thought. "You have a fair point," she eventually replied, aware of how high-pitched her voice was.
Rachel pushed herself back up, staring down at Chloe with a smug grin on her face. "Do I?"
"I mean, you can keep selling it to me. I'm okay with that."
Rachel laughed, shaking her head. "That's what I thought." Rachel's eyes drifted from Chloe to her bedside clock, shoulders slumping when she noticed the time. "Crap, I need to start getting ready. Didn't realize we slept that long."
Chloe groaned as Rachel rolled off of her and made her way around the room. "Oh, sure, wind me up and then leave me hanging, I get it," she muttered darkly.
Rachel snorted, giving Chloe a once over. "I said I need to get ready. You do you."
Chloe frowned for a minute, propping a pillow up so she could sit and lean against the headboard comfortably. "Is that an invitation?" she asked coyly.
Rachel shrugged, a smile pulling at the corners of her mouth as she grabbed a shirt off the back of her desk chair. "However you want to take it."
"Is that an invitation?"
Rachel laughed, pulling her shirt over her head and leaning over the bed to give Chloe a quick peck on the lips. "You're a dork, Chloe Price."
"And you're beautiful, Rachel Amber." Rachel's cheeks turned a little red again before she turned towards her closet to search for pants.
