It was a quiet afternoon on a Sunday. She had sent the kids to the park with Spinelli. He had been enthusiastically willing to take them after she told him why she needed some privacy. Sam had asked Jason to come over. She wanted to tell him that she'd made a mistake ending their relationship.
His recent brush with death and escaping the hospital, it had all put things back into perspective for her. She had hated the fact that she was stuck at the station, shackled by Dante and the tests he put her through while Jason had been on the run without her.
Not just without her but with that Britt woman.
Sam was pacing back and forth in front of the sofa, wringing out her hands.
She knew that Britt wanted more than friendship from Jason. She saw the way she looked at Jason and it made her heart clench in her chest when she though she saw a similar look on the face of the man who would forever own her heart and soul.
A knock at the door kept her from diving down the rabbit hole and she knew who it was because she felt her heart flutter.
She practically ripped the door from its hinges in her overeagerness to open it and see Jason again.
He stood in front of her in all of his black leather clad glory, hands stuffed in his pockets, and an inquisitive furrow to his brow.
"What's up?" Jason started, "You said you wanted to talk, is it about the kids?"
Sam shook her head, "It's about us."
There was a spark in his eyes as he processed what she'd said and it was a spark that could only be ignited by her, for her, because of her.
It was one of a multitude of different looks that Jason reserved only for her. No one else could light up his eyes or make him smile slowly from one side of his face to the other in anticipation that something he's long wanted might finally be happening.
"Come in." Sam waved her arm toward the living.
Jason did. He stood near the living room and looked around before looking back at her. His eyes roamed up and down her body and under the scrutiny of his intense gaze with those beautiful blue eyes, Sam could feel heat spreading throughout her body.
"What did you want to talk about?" Jason asked, his voice a tad small, as if he were apprehensive about the answer.
Sam took a small step toward him, "Jason, this whole thing with Franco then you going on the run, it all made me realize how stupid I've been. I hated being on the outside of your life looking in and I want to be by your side no matter what. I know I said that I wanted stability for the kids but I wanted kids with you since before we fell in love. It was hypocritical of me to say that you are too dangerous to have kids. You're a wonderful. And so what if you're not conventional and we don't have normal, average lives. A life together, loving you and our kids, it's all I want if you will still have me."
Jason smiled, "Sam, I understood why you ended things especially with the way things went down with the explosion and then with your Dad. My work isn't going to change you know that—"
"I do. And I am sorry that I took my frustration over the situation out on you and our relationship. I came so close to losing you, forever, and I've lived through that before but barely, it was less living and more existing."
"But I wasn't the only one you nearly lost, was I?" Jason asked tentatively, "Danny was almost taken from you too."
Sam's eyes instantly filled with tears and they fell but Jason moved closer then he reached a hand up to catch her tears.
It made Sam smile as she looked up at the man that was her soulmate, her true love, and it baffled her now that she could have let him go for any reason because there was no reason good enough to walk away from him or them.
"Yeah, and it scared me. That's why I though we shouldn't be together. I thought that if we broke up and then something happened to you then it wouldn't feel like it did before, like I'd lost my whole world. But I've missed you everyday and especially at night when I want nothing more than curl up in your arms, put my head on your chest, and listen to the one sound that always soothes me, your heartbeat." Sam said as she put a hand on his chest, right over his heart which was pounding just as her own.
They stared up into each other's eyes. The love between them was as alive as it ever was and nothing would ever be able to kill it. No one else would ever be able to come between them.
Jason moved his other hand up and moved the hair out of her eyes, the same as he'd done since they'd first started to fall in love.
A love that was unlike any other.
A love that just is but it's always worth fighting for because they had been through hell yet nothing else made the two of them feel as they did in this moment. They were incomplete without each other.
"Sam, I need to know that you're sure about this because I can't take it if you were to change your mind the next time that I'm in danger."
Sam nodded, "I know that my place is with you and your place is here at home with us. I was wrong to think that taking their father from them was right just because I got scared they could lose you. Now I see that it's the exact opposite, we should spend as much time as possible as a family because we could lose you and the truth is that absolute safety is an illusion. Danny could get sick or I could get hit by a car… the only way we can guarantee safety is live in a bubble and if I remember correctly, that made Jake Gyllenhaal miserable. The same way we've been miserable. Jason, I'm sure. So sure that I think it's time we make this permanent."
Confusion covered his face. "What are you saying?"
"Jason, you've been back home for more than three years and just like we did before, we put ourselves on the back burner. We constantly prioritize other people and their problems over what we want and just like before, we're not where we should be… if you still want to, that is."
"Sam, are you asking me to marry you."
She nodded and grabbed his face with both hands, "Jason, I want to be your wife. I want us to be Mr. and Mrs. Morgan. I want us to be the Morgan Family, Jason, Sam, Danny, and Emily Scout Morgan."
Jason's face lit up again, "Emily Scout Morgan?"
She nodded, "We know now that Drew is dead and as sad as Scout will forever be about that, she's also considered you to be her Dad for a long, long time. You are her Dad and I think it's time that was made official. That is if you want us to be a family again."
Jason answered by kissing her. He drew her into his strong arms, held her so tight, and lifted her feet off the ground. She wrapped her arms around his neck, as they melded their mouths together in a perfect kiss.
They poured all of their love and longing into the kiss. It was a reintroduction after having been parted for far too long. Once they felt they'd said everything they'd need in that kiss, it turned more heated. Jason ran his tongue along her bottom lip, asking for entry which she instantly gave him.
Sam had lusted for the taste of him for too long. She had gone to bed far too many nights with heat in her belly and an aching between her legs that she knew only Jason could satisfy. The same thought was on his mind, it seemed, because the next thing Sam knew, he was bending down and swinging her up into his arms the way he always did before turning up the stairs, taking them two at at time.

After a few hours of sleep after having completely spent one another is an experience could only rival the firs time that were together after she's saved him from the harbor like she'd wanted to do so many years ago.
However this was equally special but in a different way, They had part ways because she had been too scared about losing Jason, for good this time, and losing they miracle baby. That is and would always be how she saw Danny.
The unexpected miracle that come as a total surprise then to to be told he was hers and Jason's sent her over the moon; she'd only wished she could share the life altering news she'd received from Steven with Jason, who'd gone into that cold, murky water of Port Charles Harbor not knowing that Danny was his in every way,
Although, she knew deep in his bones the moment that he wanted to come over to her to ask her to bring Danny and Sam back to their home, that he was sincere in saying he loved Danny as his own and wanted don't raise him.
Another thought popped into her head, it wasn't about Danny but Scout. Sam knew she would be too young to remember her biological father and he had been a good one,
However, Peter August or Heinrich Faison had protected his worthless ass by killing Drew.
Now, that was a couple of years ago, Scout viewed Jason as he father.
Even asking Sam when Daddy would be coming home to tuck her, read her bedtime stories, and loved Jason as he was own on Daddy, In fact, as far as she could remember he was her only father,
A few weeks before she ended things with him, Scout had taken to calling him Daddy,
Nothing warmed her heart more than to hear these anything.
Daddy was now what he was both to her children, and she had been scared and stupid to end things with him over the danger and the close call with Danny but she had known she'd want to have kids with him since they fell in love.
What had she been thinking?
At that moment. Jason stirred and his sleepy eyes found her face almost instantly.
Share started with him with love shining in her eyes but a few kind of resolve.
Jason couldn't stop himself from asking. "Is this for real. I'm not dreaming like so many I've had before."
Sam ran her hand down her face in the soothing gesture. "This is very real."
Jason smirked, "Than I suggest we continue what we started last night."

The sun was bright and high in the afternoon sky which was a serene blue with a few puffy white clouds dotting here and there. It put Jason in an even better mood than he already was since his life seemed to be getting back to the way it should be with the woman he wanted and the family they'd made and love together.
Jason was sitting in the courtyard outside General Hospital. He was still in the early stages of recovery but honestly, he didn't think he could feel any better right now even if he tried because of the way he and Sam had spent the morning. First under the covers of their bed, then again in the shower which meant neither of them were as clean as they should be after having showered.
The last few months without Sam had been hell. He'd tried to make the best of his worst nightmare and biggest fear but still, it had felt like his heart had been slowly dying especially whenever he saw Sam with Dante.
Jason didn't think anything would happen between them because of the fact they share a sibling which made a possible one night stand or god forbid, a relationship, very difficult and if Jason were honest, a tad bit creepy.
He was seated on the bench, enjoying the warm weather, and a bottle of water just watching the people whether they be patients, doctors, nurses, administrators etc. all walk by and going about their lives. It was a better way of killing time than sitting in his doctor's office reading all of those gossip magazines when they all had the same story about the same celebrity's drama.
What Jason hadn't anticipated was his own drama sitting down next to him. Jason turned his head and saw the face of Britt Westbourne. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail as it was usually while she worked, she wore a navy blue sheath dress, matching heels, and her face had just enough makeup to highlight her natural beauty.
She had a bright twinkle in her eyes and what he thinks is a flirtatious smile on her lips, that shined from the pink colored lip gloss that she must've applied recently, and she put her chin on her palm as she rested her elbow on the back of the bench.
"Jason! It's been a week since you were given the medical all clear signal. But we still have a lot of work to bring down Peter. Maybe we could get together tonight and work on some strategies. Maybe have some dinner?" She asked with a perfectly shaped eyebrow raised in question and he felt, suggestion.
Jason nodded, "Okay, well, we'll need to get a babysitter unless you and maybe Spinelli, too, could come over to the penthouse. That would be easiest for us."
Britt dropped her hand and sat up straighter, she closed her eyes then opened them only to blink unstoppably.
"The penthouse? You need a babysitter? Easier for us?" Britt repeated then looked him in the eye, "I don't understand, Jason, are you saying you—"
"Got back together with Sam, yeah. I am moving back home with the woman I love and our kids. So if you need to reach me, you want to talk business, strategy, plans, and how to execute them from now on, I am a part of a package deal, my partner in crime and life, Sam is going to be a part of this from now on, understand?"
Britt pursed her lips as if she hated what she was hearing but not having any real choice or any kind of recourse and knows she's lost him before she ever got a chance with him because Jason was still in love with Sam. He'd only given her distance because she asked for it but in truth, his heart had been broken and always broke even more each time he had to see his soulmate running around with another guy.
Britt nodded her head and resigned, "Okay, well, why don't you call me if you and Sam develop any plans and I'll do the same. We can set up a strategy meeting soon and I'm fine coming to you guys for your convenience plus it must be really nice to finally be back home, huh?"
Jason smiled from ear to ear, "I can't describe it."
Britt shook her head, "You don't have to because it's written all over your face."
She stood up at that moment and said goodbye to him, Jason was so wrapped up in his happiness that he failed to see the crestfallen look on Britt's face as she walked away.

Later that afternoon, Jason need a check up and was in seeing Epiphany who was to remove his stitches. As he sat on the table, his chest bare, he was all smiles at the other person in the room.
Sam stood in the corner, watching as Epiphany worked, and had a smile on her face that stretched from ear to ear.
It wasn't lost on the veteran nurse and finally she was finished, as Jason put his signature black shirt back on, she turned around to face Sam. "See, I knew it wouldn't last."
Sam furrowed her brow in confusion, "I'm sorry?"
Epiphany took her tray of supplies and walked to door, "That whole break up and we're over for good this time thing you guys were saying the last couple months. Eventually, you two always figure out the one thing that everyone else knows, the love you have for each other is never going to end and neither will your relationship. And Sam, don't think I don't see that lug nut around your neck. Congratulations, you two. I best be invited. You hear?"
Jason put his jacket back on and Sam went into his open arms, "You will. Thanks Epiphany."

Jason and Sam exited the room then walked the short distance to elevator where the pressed the button and waited, They had their arms wrapped around each other and Sam tilted her head up for Jason to steal a sweet kiss before the doors opened and they entered.
What they did see was Dr, Britt Westerbourne standing behind the nurses station with a pained expression on her face.
And what Britt didn't notice was that Elizabeth had witnessed the whole thing. With a file in her hand, she sauntered up to the woman she never liked and with immense pleasure said, "Welcome to the club, Britt."
The woman was shaken from her stupor and glared down at the woman, "What are you talking about, what club?"
Elizabeth pressed her lips together before saying, "I've seen that look before, I'm well acquainted with that look because I've worn it myself many times."
"And what look would that be."
Elizabeth smirked, "It is the look of a woman who just realized she never stood a chance of having Jason Morgan to herself because he's always been in love with Sam McCall and the longer you are around those two you'll realize something else, too."
Britt put her hand on hip, "What's is that?"
"They might break up but they never stay apart. Them getting back together is inevitable. I speak from ten years of experience."
Elizabeth walked away from Britt and the doctor was left staring after her with that pained expression back on her face but now, there was an air of sadness to it as well.
She never stood a chance.
