Hello, everyone. Centurion Maximo here with a brand-new story to share with you. This is my very first Sonic fiction: Sonic: Invasion! Now, this was kind of inspired by the fan game: Sonic Omens which is not complete yet. Yet, the game is great compared to the Sonic games post Sonic Unleashed, especially Sonic: Forces.

I'm sorry, but Sonic: Forces really let me down. We were promised a darker Sonic Game since Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog and we got completely lighthearted lackluster. Sonic has gone dark before! I don't know why Sega is soo afraid of taking that step.

Anyway, I will be bringing in characters not seen in any of the games, but in the comics and cartoons as well as OCs.

Now, this doesn't really follow any specific Sonic continuity, but if I were to guess, I'd say it would follow after Sonic Comics after Chip sealed himself and Dark Gaia back into the planet's core and Eggman being defeated yet again. For some reason, post Sonic Unleashed Sonic games have forgotten that humans do exist on Mobius.

Without further ado, let us begin Sonic: Invasion!

*Green Hill Zone. Sonic. 8:01 am*

It was a new day in the world which was put back together. Sonic was enjoying a morning run, but he wasn't as joyous as he was since he was missing Chip. He looked at the bracelet Chip left him. He sighed as he came to a stop to look at the sunrise. "I wish you were here, buddy."

"There you are, Sonic." Sally said softly walking up to him.

"Thought we'd find you here." Tails was close behind along with Rotor, Amy, Bunnie, and Antoine.

"Hey, guys." Sonic smiled softly at his friends.

"You doin okay, sugah?" Bunnie asked.

"Yeah." Sonic answered simply.

"You're thinking about Chip, aren't you?" Rotor correctly guessed.

"You guys know me well." Sonic didn't bother to refute Rotor. "I miss him."

"Zat much is evident." Antoine commented. "Zit is hard to lose a friend."

"Yeah, but at least we saved the world two years ago from Eggman and Dark Gaia." Sonic said.

"Speaking of Eggman, we haven't heard from him in two years. What could he be planning?" Tails asked no one in particular.

"He's always scheming, Tails." Sonic ruffled Tails's head. "I'm just surprised it's taking this long."

"In the meantime, we can take some time off." Rotor smirked.

"Now that you mention it, I'm gonna visit Uncle Chuck. I feel like I have to give him an apology for not listening to him."

"We all have places to get back to." Sally smiled. "There's still lots of repairs to be done, of course. In and out of our homes, families to get back to."

"Count me out on that." Rotor refuted on the last part.

"Rote..." Sonic started, but Rotor cut him off.

"I can't, Sonic. I-I just can't. I know it's only been two years, but my dad still joined Eggman all because of his belief that might makes right." Rotor hung his head a little low.

"Rotor, you can't avoid it forever." Sonic put his hand on Rotor's shoulder. Rotor didn't respond.

*Outer Space. Unknown Time.*

A large, strange looking meteor with holes was hurtling towards Mobius at high speed. Little did the Mobians, anthropomorphic and human know that this would only be the beginning of something.

Hello, everyone. I hope everyone liked the short prologue of Sonic: Invasion. We're shown that a couple years have passed since the whole Shattered World Crisis and Chip had to seal himself and Dark Gaia in Mobius's core. Sonic is shown to actually miss Chip, but he's still got his other friends to keep him company.
