Sokkla Month Day 20: Babies
Azula certainly had her hands full. And it was all Sokka's fault, she decided as she had to make sure Miska didn't freeze the pond over or let Risa toast the turtleducks to a crisp. Then again, she never looked too fondly on the said fowl, thinking of them as mere freeloaders who profited off her brother's bleeding heart. Still, even if she were to casually not notice her daughter ignite some form of PTSD among the more older turtleducks, it was her tendency to sample (or attempt to) just about anything within her grasp, a trait that if nothing else, marked her as definitely of Sokka's, for he too would gladly do the same to any and all manner of edible items, with only his age and standing as a confident to the current Fire Lord restraining his worst impulses.
At least their son had some of her qualities, namely the ability to:
Sit still when told to
Look completely innocent in the midst of a mess of his own creation,
of which, the last point would have been rather amusing had she and her beloved weren't the ones picking up the mess afterwards.
"Still sure you don't need any help?" a familiar voice asked in an overly sweet voice that Azula knew, just knew would not lead to good and happy outcomes.
"I can take care of my kids just fine, thank you very much Kiyi."
"That gaggle of angry turtleducks says otherwise."
"Fuck the turtleducks."
"Language sis, don't go corrupting young minds at such a tender age."
"You're one to talk."
Suddenly, a childlike voice uttered the four lettered words, before giggling. At this, Kiyi tried her best to stifle her laugh as Risa began pointing at objects near her while repeating said word.
"Never would I have imagined this would be your kid's first word."
"Just don't tell this to Sokka okay!" she hissed.
"I could, but why not?"
"Damn it Kiyi, just-just name your price!"
"Ah, just the words I was waiting for." Kiyi grinned, before whispering something in her ear.
"Your choice."
"Fine." she gritted her teeth and wished Sokka would come back from his conference sooner rather than later.
Later that night…
When Sokka got back, he found his wife clad in a neon pink dress and bright yellow ribbons.
"Are the kids….?"
"Yes, I put them to bed a half hour ago."
"So then…"
"Don't. Ask."
"It was Kiyi, wasn't it?"
"Just be thankful your little babies didn't make another mess, or get into trouble. Or the fact that I willingly decided to make babies with you."
"A fact that I am very thankful to the Spirits for."
"As you should be. In fact, I think you should take care of them tomorrow."
"But-" he started to protest, before noticing a familiar smell of ozone and small crackles forming at her fingertips.
"Yes ma'am!"
"As you were. Now, I suppose with the little babies out of the way, I should take care of this big one standing in front of me."
"Hey!"
