I don't own Highschool DxD.
I got this idea stuck in my head after playing Until Dawn. Check the game out, it's definitely worth it. On another note, I'm currently trying to improve my writing, but I feel as if I'm not getting any better, so don't expect much out of this story. If anyone has any tips or criticism, please let me know.
"This wasn't discussed!"
Our hero of the story, Blake, says to himself as he makes his way to shelter in the middle of an intense snowstorm. No matter where he looked all he could see was the large flakes of snow assaulting his body. He could barely even remember who he was, and the longer he walked, the more he seemed to forget.
He could remember one thing very clearly, the dark figure with red eyes that spoke to him.
At the time it was a dream come true, afterall how many people can say they've been given another chance at life.
"The more I look back on it, the more warning signs appear in the conversation I had." Blake said out loud with alarm.
The figure started off by talking in a deep warm tone. What was said was becoming hard to remember, but the longer the figure spoke to him, the more ominous they sounded.
'I can easily remember their dark, sarcastic laughter.' Blake thought with a shudder.
He could now hardly breath, something that isn't a good sign. Surely he wasn't isekai'd into a sure death situation... Was he?
Now that he mentioned it, the figure said he would get power as soon as he arrived.
"Wished I would've asked more questions." Blake says, trying to keep his mind running.
After a few minutes he noticed that he's now walking at an incline, meaning he was on a mountain.
'I'm going to have to make a decision to either go back the way I came, opposite of the mountain, or keep going up, and try to find a cave.' After debating it, he decided to keep climbing, seeing that the other option was way more likely for him to freeze to death.
After what seemed to be an eternity he finally found a cave sticking to the side of the mountain. Blake quickly goes into the opening and the effect of not having the wind carve into him, was blissful, even if it was still very cold. The cave was rather large and smelt odd. He disregarded the thought, just happy to find a place to lie low until the blizzard stopped. He now felt tired after such a stressful event.
"I'll try to sleep and regain some of my strength" Our hero says softly as his eyes close, with his back to one of the walls.
An unknown amount of time later.~
The whole cave shaking woke him up immediately.
"What in the world!?" Blake shouted as the whole cave trembled again. It then dawned on him what was about to happen.
"N-no!" He got to his feet as the cave-in started and right before he could run out, the ceiling fell down right in front of him, sealing Blake's fate. Blake quickly punched the thick ice in front of him in disbelief.
The cave was now pitch black, and he couldn't see even his fingers in front of him. He could only sit down and try to calm himself down. After counting down from one hundred for the seventh time he tried to rationalize the situation.
"That figure put me here for a reason, hopefully someone will come and rescue me and my journey can really start."
The more he thought about it, the better he felt.
One day later
"This is bad, I was already hungry when I was thrown here, but now it's starting to be unbearable. The smell hasn't gone away either, if anything it has gotten stronger."
Blake was bored and hungry. Atleast he wasn't thirsty, all he had to do was lick the wall, and use his tongues warmth to get the bare minimum amount of water he needed.
5 days later
His tongue is now completely numb and Blake couldn't tell if he was getting water from the wall anymore. The smell was also driving him crazy. Blake could feel how thin he had gotten, and could only hope that someone out there would help him. The thought of someone saving him was the only thing keeping him going at this point.
"Hope, the only thing keeping me going… what a joke."
3 days later
Blake regains his consciousness only for an hour or two at a time. The smell now has him looking for what it was. Like a banquet, with a five course meal…
As his thin fingers grabbed at something in the dark, he noticed that he was holding onto a skull and that was where the smell was coming from. In one of the few lucid moments he was aware, he noticed that he had half eaten a corpse that was frozen.
"This is disgusting, what is happening to me!?" And before he knew it, darkness overtook his vision and he knew no more.
5 days later
Blake could no longer control his body as he screamed out in horror and pain for days on end. The only salvation he had was feeling the icy energy coursing through his body.
The dark seductive power was the only thing he could notice.
1 day later
The human turned wendigo has stopped screaming and only stood still. An emaciated corpse with bright, glowing blue eyes was all that was left of Blake. It could only remember the dark laugh of the figure as he was teleported to this hell. The only thing that kept it occupied was fantasies of killing the being that put him here.
An unknown amount of time later
The entrance to the cave was getting melted. and Blake stirred. Something that smelled rotten was making its way into the area right outside of the cave. Blake immediately went towards the back of the cave and got into a pouncing position, hiding himself in where the shadows would be once the entrance was opened.
The stray devil Razor knew he was getting close to the cave where he had laid low before. He had gone on a killing spree in the small devil town of Demetri, right in the middle of the Sitri territory of Hell. Razor often frequented the Sitri territory, the cold landscape offered a natural advantage for his Ice Magic.
The devils here were peasants to the Sitri family. Which meant they were ripe for the picking. Doing so was a huge risk, but one he had done many times. Afterall, who would be bold enough to attack a town in a Maohs territory. They would without a doubt send a group to check the disappearances, but he would be long gone.
Shaking his head he started to climb up the cold mountain he had finally made it where the entrance should've been.
"Eh looks like it caved in, thankfully a little ice manipulation is easy enough" Razor let out with a chuckle
Razor got to work at breaking down the ice into water, not knowing the grim fate that awaits him. After an hour he had made a big enough hole that he could walk through. As he entered it he couldn't help but feel as if someone was watching him. After glancing around briefly, he sat down and closed his eyes.
Blake quickly and quietly went up to the odd looking human. He was indeed odd looking, with the lower body of a lion and the top half of an ugly looking human. Blake couldn't help but feel elated, he was finally getting some more food, this time, fresh. Blake lurched forward quickly and efficiently, and with a single clamp of his jaws, the skull of the odd human was turned to mush and gel in his mouth. Razor, the middle class stray devil was no more.
The more Blake the Wendigo ate the more he could finally think. With each delicious bite, Blake the human came back into the world. After savoring every bite Blake was now finally aware of what was happening.
"I-im a monster now." Blake said with tears in his eyes. He then surveyed his body for the first time from awakening. He looked down expecting to see a skinny, barely alive body, only to find himself as he was before the cave incident. Blake ran his hands over his body, not believing that he now looked normal. He could hardly believe what was happening. Not only that, he now had memories and information that he didn't have before.
That's right, our MC will be a wendigo. In legend, they are monsters formed from humans who resorted to cannibalism. The powers hell have so far is Cryomancy, Complete Shapeshifting, and the power to grow stronger by ingesting stronger creatures/people.
Not sure about the pairings, any ideas, please feel free to send them.
As for the chapter length, Ill be attempting to make them much longer than this chapter, around 2500 for now on. Didn't want to dump a whole lot of info in the first chapter.
