Yo sup, heres another story while i get underway on my other story
Hopefully I hope that this story, short as it will be, will inspire other writers who are avid fans of the Death Korps of Krieg to write more stories.
I dont know own Warhammer sadly, and I don't own RWBY again sadly
Krieg,
Much of the early history of what was once the Hive World of Krieg in the Segmentum Tempestus is shrouded in rumor, allegory and dark myth. Its dreadful history of rebellion and treachery has been obscured and lost in the mists of time.
This once-thriving Hive World was a trading and manufacturing center that was populated by billions. Yet Krieg is now covered in a wilderness of ruined cities that span the poison-choked world. Bloated with wealth and corrupt with indolence, the former rulers of this world - the Council of Autocrats - was rife with petty vendetta and vice.
This ruling oligarchy became increasingly insular and debauched over time. Their paranoia over an outside threat that could shatter their dictatorial rule caused them to sink vast resources into strengthening the defenses of their hive cities, building private armies and further surrounding their world with an outward facing ring of steel.
It became worse as the Autocrats grew to resent the influence of the Imperial Administratum on 'their' world and in particular the heavy tithes levied on them by the Departmento Munitorum, taking resources they protested were vital to their own defense.
The lowly citizens of Krieg were sadly ignorant of these slowly spiraling events and the terrible ruin the misrule of their leaders was about to bring down upon them.
The 'end' of Krieg came in the form of a High Autocrat of Krieg's largest hive, the Chairman of the Council of Autocrats and the 'de facto' Planetary Governor; a man who was so hated his name was purged from all records. He declared a planetary-wide martial law and that Krieg was now independent of The Imperium of Man.
The High Autocrat; as he shall be known as from henceforth; further renounced the Emperor of Mankind as his divine master and political overlord. This news immediately led to Krieg being devoured in a civil war which erupted suddenly and violently, between the heretical rebels who supported the High Autocrat and the citizens of Krieg who remained firm and loyal to the Emperor and The Imperium of Man.
Much of Krieg fell to the heretics after the rebels' initial attacks, many died and nearly all of the Hive Cities on the planet fell to the heretics, however Hive City Ferrograd remained remained steadfast under Loyalist Control, commanded directly by a Colonel by the name of Jurten; No Surname was ever found regarding Colonel Jurten as such this man would forever be named as just Colonel Jurten.
Colonel Jurten, having been informed by the Segmentum Command that an Imperial Fleet on a scale the size of which was needed to invade Krieg would not be available, made the choice to descend into a secret Adeptus Mechanicus storage facility located deep underneath Ferrograd. Jurten alongside a loyal Adeptus Mechanicus Ally, Archmagos Greel, unlocked the facility made movements to unleash the forbidden and ancient weapons within.
With the Heretic Forces besieging Ferrograd, a siege that labored for days on end, Jurten and those of whom he trusted made ready the secret and deadly weapons found within the Storage Facility.
Nearing a week having passed since Jurten found his hidden weapons, a day known more widely as the Day of the Feast of the Emperor's Ascension, Jurten unleashed his long-planned counter attack. The weapons he found in that storage facility were of atomic make and his plan was to initiate a great cleansing of the planet's heretical population.
Many saw the Ballistic Missiles rise from Ferrograd and disappear into the sky, the initial salvo of missiles did not detonate immediately which filled the heretics with a false sense of hope, for those missiles were aimed for different parts of the planet; something that the heretical commanders did not once even consider possible; and it was with a final salvo of missiles being fired high above the general location of Ferrograd and detonating, did all know what was happening.
That day became known as The Purging.
In Blooms of blinding light, and with the unleashing of tonnes of lethal isotopes, Krieg was blanketed in a deadly Fallout.
For days Krieg was engulfed in a sea of nuclear fire, Krieg's already tainted and marginal ecosystem collapsed, and as a result, untold billions died due to the raging fires blocking out the sun and that nuclear winter that followed.
Jurtens plan, crude and unforgiving, was a complete success. Krieg had been transformed into a blasted wasteland.
The Purge had evened the odds against the heretics, for the Loyalists under Jurtens command had been well informed and very much ready before the bombs exploded. The Loyalists had struck a devastating blow against the Heretics.
But the Civil War dragged on, rarely would battle be fought above land for many now lived in underground bunkers or deep in the radioactive chem-wastes of the once thriving Hive World, Jurtens plan while successful and devastating to the Heretics, was a massive and devastating disaster to Krieg itself. To the Imperium of Man, Krieg was no longer a planet worth saving, its fate now a permanent red mark in the ledgers of the Administratum.
Krieg was now a Death World, trapped in a freezing grip of radioactive nuclear winter. A bloody war of attrition continued to rage between the surviving heretical Secessionists and the Loyalist Troops. Every inch of ground would eventually become littered with trenches, rusting razor wire and shell craters, in a deadly landscape where drifting fallout ash shrouded the numberless bones of the unburied dead.
For Centuries the Civil War would be waged, Jurten having died somewhere along the line, had allowed the descendants of those who once followed him to live on and eventually become as fearless as they were callous. War would become all that they would ever know, having been raised to fight from the cradle to the grave.
Trench by Trench, Tunnel by Tunnel - with Bayonets affixed, with brutality and sometime even more Atomic Fire, The Loyalists slowly retook Krieg; all in the name of The Emperor and The Imperium of Man.
After almost 500 standard years, Krieg would be returned fully to the Imperial Fold, all due to the sweat, blood and bodies of the Loyalist Troops of Krieg, becoming known all throughout The Imperium of Man as the Death Korps of Krieg.
Although Krieg had been returned to Imperial Rule with little fanfare or regard, the Departmento Munitorum took note, for Krieg was is disarray, Krieg would not be able to pay the regular tithe and so a new tithe was placed upon Krieg, this tithe being that of men for the Imperial Guard.
It came as a surprise to the Munitorum Adepts when Krieg authorities offered not one but over twenty regiments of troops for immediate deployment, all having been formed, trained and each commander requesting the most hazardous Imperial warzones available.
For during the near Five Centuries of warfare, the People of Krieg had not sat idle, for beneath the blasted exterior of their world, entire subterranean cities had been founded, tens of thousands of kilometers of bunkers and passageways dug and built, a vast underworld of industry and manufacture geared specifically to the production of arms and equipment, however most of all was to the production of soldiers, soldiers who proved to be implacable as the factory lines that armed them and as pitiless as their blasted radioactive world.
The deployment of the regiments from the Death Korps of Krieg were immediately successful, despite the misgivings of some of the regiments they served alongside. In war zones that mirrored the horrific state of their home world, the Death Korps regiments proved far superior to other Astra Militarum regiments. On worlds that were radioactive wastes, toxic zones and polluted ash-worlds, Imperial Guard generals quickly capitalized on deploying the Death Korps too such worlds. Stalemates were broken and advances were achieved that would have otherwise required the massive expenditure of Penal Legion Troops or the use of the far more valuable elite forces such as the Adeptus Astartes.
With Krieg now directly under the authority of the Departmento Munitorum, maximum tithe levels were enforced, and Kriegs sole purpose was to turn out Death Korps soldiers as another world would mine ore or sow wheat. It was by the direct orders of the High Lords of Terra that nothing was to be allowed to interfere with this purpose.
Many questioned and wondered how Krieg raised such an unusually large number of Imperial Guard regiments for such a devastated planet, this could be attributed to the enforced use of the 'Vitae Womb' birthing technique, which Krieg had been granted special dispensation to use as the result of their famous steel, determination and unwavering loyalty to The Emperor. The usage of this technique was largely unknown outside of the Adeptus Biologis and was seen as dangerous and abhorrent by many of the Adeptus Mechanicus Magos Biologis.
If one needed a comparison, you would need to look to that of another universe, that which held an army full of Clones, then you might get some form of understanding.
As it stands, Krieg is a true and proper War World; its tithes are the maximum for the planet's population, raising tens of regiments every year where a comparably-sized world would be expected to raise and tithe a single regiment every solar decade.
The Death Korps of Krieg had proven themselves as extremely effective troops, achieving victories against the odds by dint of bloody sacrifice, endurance, aggression and unbreakable loyalty. However despite their glorious service record, Krieger's were not well liked by Astra Militarum commanders who found the Death Korps to be too morose, taciturn, all too willing to accept high casualties(even amongst their own commanders) and difficult to deal with by non-Krieg natives.
Our story however doesn't focus primarily on the whole of the Death Korps, but on a single random solder, one Krieger of millions, chosen completely by random by the higher powers, powers far higher than that of the Emperor and the foul Chaos Gods.
This 'chosen' soldier, near exactly the same as all other Death Korps Guardsmen would change the fate of not Krieg or any planet under the Imperium of Mans rule but the fate of a single planet, not even in the same Galaxy that he was born in.
A planet with a broken moon and beset on all sides by creatures of darkness.
A world known as Remnant.
So here we are, mostly everything regarding Krieg was 'copied' from the warhammer40k fandom website, i tried to change some of the words, paragraphs and what not but there were some cases where if i made a change it just didnt sound/look right and so i had to leave it as it was. For those who know you'll definately see what i'm talking about and i apologize if i offend anyone by doing that but my knowledge of Kriegs history is ... well non-existent barring what i've learnt from writing this.
Anyway, as i said in my above author notes, this is mainly for inspiration for other writers to create their own version of a Warhammer/RWBY Crossover ... or well a Warhammer / anything crossover its up to them/you really.
I'm not the best story writer, i'll be hit with a thought while doing something or reading something or playing a game and my mind will make up a scenario of a possible fanfic story and i'll be all "Yeah that perfect and that totally gonna be awesome to read" ... only i'll either forget soon or immediately after or i just don't have the time to put anything to pen on paper ... or in word ...
aw well anyway i hope you enjoyed that and i must please ask that if you read this having received a notification as a follower from one of my previous stories i kindly ask that you please be patient as i try and write up a proper chapter ...
You'd be surprised how difficult it is to actually stick to writing a story ... its quite difficult i tell you
