Welcome everyone to My Other Sam:Season 2. This Season, I'm going to attempt to give full on chapters out to our various parties and see what can be done moving forward. On that note, Season 3 of Totally Spies had some cool sceneries to play with. Anyways, I hope this story turns out at least as good as season one. Enjoy!
Amity Park: Apartment…
A young man, who looked strikingly like Danny Phantom, had entered his apartment after having just finished basketball practice. This young man was a little taller, had orange instead of white hair, and his green eyes certainly didn't glow. He also wore a basketball uniform.
Still didn't stop people from assuming he was Danny Phantom. If you asked him, this young man would have gladly told you who Danny Phantom was. He was none other than Danny Fenton, but no one believed him. If anything, they thought it was his way of hiding his 'secret'.
These days, his supposed secret sucked worse than ever before. Danny was labeled a villain by most of Amity Park because of that Nasty Burger explosion, but this young man knew better. Sure, he tried to expose Danny, but that was to stop people from claiming he was Phantom.
He knew Danny was a hero and any event that contradicted the multitude of positive he did could easily be explained as any number of his enemies using their ghostly abilities to make Fenton out to be the bad guy.
Sure, the young man could blame Danny for this misfortune, but an explosion made no sense. This was besides the fact that Danny was a hero. After all, what good is an explosion when you're literally a ghost. You don't need explosions when you had power.
The young man sighed and walked to his room. Still, that explosion is what led to Danny leaving, and the young man admittedly felt lost. He had spent a whole year trying to expose him to no avail. Now, he had stopped out of respect for what the guy lost.
The young man entered his room. "I know stopping my attempts to expose you is for the best, but without it, my life feels like it's hit a rut." It probably didn't help that his walls were still decorated with clues, connected by string, pertaining to Danny. "I'm going on a run."
Streets of Amity Park
This wasn't supposed to happen. Not to her. Valerie was supposed to be true protector of Amity Park ever since that fraudulent Danny Phantom left. It had been a routine battle with Lunch Lady Ghost, and it had been going the same as any other.
Realistically, she wasn't much of a threat, and Valerie had been good about getting their destruction to a minimum. It helped to have this new white with red accented suit the GIW gave her. Still, no one had ever gotten hurt like this before.
Valerie had captured the ghost and touched down to do patrol of the immediate area, just in case, when she heard something. It was like wet, shallow bubbling. Something about it made her gut wrench. The Huntress followed the source of the sound and reached a fallen tree.
The noise was originating from beneath it. When Valerie looked, she spotted someone familiar underneath the tree. Fighting the urge to panic, she dug her fingers under the splintered trunk and lifted with all her might.
The second the tree moved, a boy from school, Wes Weston, cried out in pain, but it sounded hollow. Somehow, this was worse than if he had screamed. Growing more frantic by the second, Valerie circled around the branches. She was trying to get a better look but wished she hadn't.
Even the cover provided by the leaves couldn't hide the fact that Wes had been impaled by a particularly sturdy branch which had entered through his back and came out the front. There was no way the branch hadn't pierced something vital.
"Don't worry, Wes." Valerie was frantic. "I'm going to get you out of there."
The problem was, how did one free somebody who had gotten impaled by a tree? If she pulled it up, Wes would bleed out long before she could get him medical attention. That said, she couldn't just leave him. Sure, he could be Danny Phantom, but Valerie had no certainties on that.
Was there even anything anyone could do? Valerie didn't have any medical training, but even she knew you couldn't just patch something like this easy. Not soon enough, at least. Well, she did know someone that might be able to help, but it was a long shot.
"Wes, listen to me." Valerie stated firmly. "I'm going to pull the tree up, and it's going to hurt. Brace yourself."
She waited a couple seconds but got no response besides garbled panting. Grimacing, Valerie grabbed the trunk and lifted yet again. In a matter of seconds, the branch was out, making a horrifying squelching noise as it went.
Valerie immediately tossed the tree aside before kneeling and putting one of her weapons on the wound. She shot out a coating of sticky ectoplasm that should stop the guy from bleeding out. Once the injury was sealed shut, she carefully rolled Wes over and did the same to his front.
Even with the wound now sealed, there was nothing she could do about the blood escaping his lips, and her effort would hardly matter unless she acted quickly. Wes was already far too pale. The Huntress scooped up the tiny jock and cradled him close to her chest.
She then summoned out her board and took to the skies. Wes was barely conscious. His eyelids fluttered as he struggled to take in air, and he was shivering. Valerie had to get him help and she was starting to realize her idea may be his only salvation.
GIW HQ
The roof over Tim Scam's office opened and Valerie immediately descended within.
"Ah, hello Val…" Tim had been staring at his computer, but his voice had caught in throat upon seeing the boy in her arms. "What happened?"
"It was a standard fight that resulted in a classmate of mine getting injured." Valerie held him out. "Please, you got to help him Tim."
"I understand." Tim immediately took the boy. "I know how to treat an injury like this so leave it to me." He walked to his bookcase and Valerie followed. "Stay here agent Val."
"But sir…" Valerie tried.
"That's an order." Tim looked back at her while feigning concern. "I don't want you to see what could happen with failure. I will not expose you to that, so wait here."
Valerie sighed. "Understood sir."
The bookcase opened to reveal an elevator and Tim entered it with Wes. The doors closed, and they were heading down. He then smirked once Valerie could no longer see him. Truth be told, this was unplanned, but he could work with this.
Ever since his run in with Phantom, Tim had taken the approach of there never being too much preparation. Since this boy seemed on death's door anyways, now seemed like the perfect time to recreate a little something he managed to see in the Fenton's old security system.
Sure, there was some protection in place, but Tucker's fire walls were nothing to Tim. When he saw that fateful day, the spy knew he had to create a halfa of his own. The elevator opened to a single room with a portal to the ghost zone.
Tim deactivated it before setting the dials to the right configurations. He then set Wes inside before approaching a nearby wall and placing his palm on it. His hand was scanned, and the wall opened revealing two cores, dark and light, contained in cases that kept them from deteriorating.
The agent looked back at Wes who was far too still. The faint bubbles near his nose were the only real indicator that he was still alive. The boy only had minutes. Tim had to act fast, so he took the cases containing the cores and sat one on each side of the jock.
"Time to see if this works." Tim thought as he walked over to the main console.
He slammed his hand down on the ON button. The whole room lit up with bright, swirling green light. When Wes cried out, it was a piercing scream that carried even over the roar of the portal. Distantly, Tim wondered if that's what Danny sounded like. He certainly hoped so.
After a few seconds, there was a spark followed by an explosion which knocked Tim off his feet. The portal powered down on its own as sparks flew from the chasm. It wouldn't be turning on again any time soon. Once the last dregs of the portal had faded away, Tim approached.
He couldn't see into it very well, but he was sure that the heap at the edge of the darkness was Wes. He was very still and quiet. The agent knelt next to Wes. At least, Tim was certain it was the jock he was looking at.
His hair, previously a deep red, had lightened to a fiery orange. His jersey colors had inverted, which was to be expected, with a black top and neon green accents throughout. The wound didn't look as bad, but he wasn't breathing.
"So, was this a failure after all." Tim contemplated.
He was certainly disappointed since having a halfa on his side would have been an advantage. Now, he not only lost a potential asset, but two rare cores that had coast a pretty penny to get from Skulker. Not to mention, Valerie would be distraught.
"I'll need a good lie for this one." Tim thought.
Suddenly, Wes sat upright and sucked in an enormous breath. A light blue glow sparked to life beneath his skin. The jock hissed in pain as his quick movement tugged at his wounds, and he clutched at his chest.
Then, Wes gasped and began patting himself clearly baffled. "I'm... I'm alive? But I... how?" He only then seemed to realize that he wasn't in the park. "Where…"
"Mr. Weston?" Tim inquired drawing the jock's attention. "Did it actually work?"
"Did what work?" Wes demanded. "Where am I? Where did you take me? What did you do?"
Tim stood up with a faked, kind smile. "Wes Weston, take my hand, and I promise to explain everything." He held out a hand. "There is much you need to understand, and I have all the answers you seek."
Wes looked from the offered hand to himself. His clothes were the wrong color, and he was glowing. The jock had no idea what happened to him, but from what he could tell, this man seemed to be the only one with answers. Wes took the offered hand.
Beverly Hills:David's Greenhouse, End of Summer…
Danny was currently dressed in a red parka and shaking as he helped David tend to his plants. Ever since coming back from Amity Park, his friends had been trying to help him get a handle on his wrath by showing him calming activities.
Of course, meditation was the first thing he tried. Thanks to his uncle and Dean, he knew how do it correctly. His friends had some other activities in mind. Alex showed him Tai Chi, Sam recommended some soothing jazz, and Clover took him shopping.
Martin and he played video games whenever he came to visit, Arnold recommended some complicated books, and David showed him his gardening. He even welcomed Danny in his greenhouse any time.
Really, the only things that didn't help were those books and shopping. Everything else he did with his amulet tucked away only to put it back immediately after. Honestly, Danny was terrified to ever have that thing off for long.
"Hey Danny." David had put a hand on his friend's shoulder only to remove it. "Man, I didn't realize you were that cold. Are you sure you shouldn't be at home resting? You haven't stopped shivering since I saw you."
"I think I'm fine." Danny replied. "At least, that's what Uncle Jerry told me after he had some doctors look at me. They determined I'm healthy and couldn't explain the cold at all."
"As long as you're healthy I guess." David touched some of his plants and frowned. "I'm sorry man, but I don't think I can have you in here today. You're cold is really impacting the temperature of my plants."
Danny sighed. "Sorry about that."
"Come on Danny, I think I still got a can of Chicken Noddle soup from when my parents visited." David stated. "Maybe once I heat that up, you'll be in a better condition to see the girls at their new place."
"That might be for the best." Danny stated.
David led Danny out of the greenhouse with neither of them noticing a wave of blue mist washing over a nearby carrot completely freezing it.
Beverly Hills Villa
Sam, Alex, and Clover had arrived at a villa via taxi and managed to avoid looking at it as they counted. "1. 2. 3!"
The girls all turned to see their luxury villa and they squealed in delight.
"Huh, you three sure sound happy." David stated as he and Danny, who continued to shake, arrived.
"How could we not be?" Clover smiled. "This place is so rad!"
Sam approached Danny concerned. "Danny, you don't seem any better from this morning." She touched his forehead only to immediately retract her hand. "You're still so cold. Are you sure you're okay?"
David looked at Danny and rubbed the back of his head. "That's what I asked him."
"I'll give practically the same answer." Danny replied. "I'm perfectly healthy. Just a little cold is all. I'll live." He managed a smile. "Now come on, let's see this place already. It's not every day your parents let you live together while they're in Europe."
"Well, he has a point." Alex stated. "Maybe Danny will fare better inside."
"I suppose." Sam stated uncertainly.
The five of them entered the girl's villa, and they were clearly happy with the place.
"This neighborhood totally rocks." Clover stated.
"It's a little to aquatic themed for my liking." Danny shrugged. "It's not like I'm living here."
Sam approached her boyfriend. "You will come over a lot, right?"
"I wouldn't live here, but I'll certainly come over often." Danny smiled. "After all, I got friends and a wonderful girl here."
"Aw, how sweet." Alex thought. "I wonder if Martin will still be able to visit us. Not as much as the summer, but still often enough."
Clover approached David and batted her eye lashes. "You'll come visit us to, right David?"
"Of course, I will." David smiled. "You three are good friends, and I like spending time with all of you."
Clover deflated. She had tried all summer to get David to notice her like Sam noticed Danny and Martin seemed to notice Alex. Those last two spent a lot of time together, but nothing was confirmed. Suddenly, the ground began to shake.
Danny's ghost sense went off. "This isn't good." He immediately went ghost. "I'm going to check it out."
The Phantom spy then phased outside.
"Come on, let's follow him." Sam declared.
The rest of the spies ran for the front door.
Outside
Danny looked down the street only to see a giant, vaguely humanoid ghost composed of plant-matter appear from the ground. He has red eyes, darker green hands, shoulder pads, a green cape, and four spikes on his head. His mouth resembled a spiky bird beak.
"Flesh Dwellers. I can feel it. This city has caused pain to my children, so you to shall feel pain. The pain of Undergrowth!" Undergrowth declared.
He shot out vines into the driveways to pick up and destroy cars. Up until this point, practically everyone who came to see what happen had watched Undergrowth in shock. After that display, they ran.
"Pitfall humanity. This whole city had to destroy acres upon acres of my children, so now I shall destroy you." Undergrowth declared.
"Hey, you don't have to do that." Danny called out. "You can do things peacefully." Undergrowth didn't like that answer, so he flung cars into the city. "Well, I tried." He flew at the ghost and prepared to blast it. "Looks like my green thumbs going black."
Danny blasted off Undergrowth's left arm. At that moment, the girls and David exited the villa only for a plant to try ensnaring them.
Sam noticed this. "Look out!"
She managed to push the other three spies out of the way while getting ensnared herself.
Clover, Alex, and David all worriedly shouted, "Sam!"
Danny immediately flew over and managed to get Sam free while Undergrowth reforged his arm. "Go get Jerry because I don't think martial arts are going to cut it here."
Danny flew off to continue confronting Undergrowth.
"Just out luck." Clover stated. "Jerry took our compowders, so now we can only contact him one way."
"Then, you three get to WOOHP." David declared before running back towards his home. "I think I got one of the ghost gadgets Danny was working on back at my house."
"Should we stop him or…" Alex began.
"Girls, dodge!" Sam shouted as more vines came at them, and they dodged. "We're going to need to trust that David can handle himself."
The girls took off as Danny attacked the plant ghost. "So, your name is Undergrowth, huh?" He blasted an arm off before flying around and coming through its chest. "Looks to me like you're actually overgrown."
Danny blasted his head off, but Undergrowth reattached it with some vines. "You can't destroy a being who's able to regenerate himself!"
The ghost sent a whole swarm of venus flytraps after Danny who flew away, but those flytraps tore through everything to get at him.
David ran down the street with a Fenton Foamer in hand. "Hey, leave him alone!"
David fired at Undergrowth tearing through his chest, but it regenerated. Still, this drew the ghost's attention for a second allowing Danny to get above his flytraps.
The halfa then formed a huge ball of ectoplasm. "Can't regenerate if you're a pile of ashes."
Danny began to shiver and lost the ectoplasm resulting in him being snatched up. David tried to fire on Undergrowth, but he was captured alongside Danny.
They were brought before Undergrowth. "Peh, such limited life forms. Although instant destruction is an option, I feel that replanting would be more productive."
Undergrowth opened his head releasing spores into the air.
"Sleep spores." Danny stated.
"Sorry Danny." David closed his eyes. "I tried."
Danny was able to resist a bit longer than David, so Undergrowth spoke to him. "Rejoice for a new era is to take root."
Danny then lost consciousness as vines wrapped around him.
Streets of Beverly Hills
The girls were currently running through the streets, but it wasn't easy considering the panic setting in by the rapid spread of Undergrowth's plants taking over Beverly Hills. On the flip side, it was probably for the best that they were running.
Not that they could drive considering they didn't have a ride, but if they had driven, they'd have to run anyways considering the mess of cars on the road. Honestly, Beverly Hills lack of ghostly interaction wasn't helping things either.
"This is so uncool." Clover complained. "This much green just looks tacky."
"Do you think Danny and David are alright back there?" Alex asked concerned.
"They should be." Sam tried to be confident, but she was worried. "Danny's a hero and if David has ghost tec, he's just as qualified as we would be with it."
That said, the cold Danny was feeling seemed to negatively impact him. It made him prone to staying still, and that wasn't good in any fight. Fortunately for the girls, they wouldn't have to run all that way as a nearby door opened sucking the girls in.
Jerry's Office
The girls crashed down on a sofa within an office which was seriously upgraded well beyond what it had been. They quickly recovered as now wasn't the time to be disoriented.
"Normally, I think we'd be amazed by the office, but…" Sam began.
"We are already well aware spies." Jerry stood. "A malicious ghost has decided to attack Beverly Hills, and C.W won't stand for that." The girls were pulled along on a conveyer belt. "Aside from your upgraded jetpacks, x-powders, and bungee belts…"
Arms had come from all sides causing the girls to attack them.
This caused a robotic voice to speak up. "Release me, immediately."
"Who said that?" Clover questioned.
"It's what. Not who." Jerry joined the girls. "Gadget Lending And Distribution Interactive System. Also known as G.L.A.D.I.S."
"Oh yes, my computerized assistant." Jerry stated. "I created it myself."
"So, he believes." GLADIS retorted.
"This is cool, but we do have a ghost out there." Alex stated.
"Ah yes, moving right along." Jerry stated. "On this mission, Alex you will have the Fenton Creep Stick V2, Sam you will have the Fenton Wrist Rays, Clover shall have Fenton Lipstick Blaster, and I shall take the Fenton Double Bladed Beam Sword.
In addition, each of us will be outfitted with Spector Deflectors." They had reached the end of the belt. "We shall be taking the Fenton Assault Vehicle. Other agents have already been dispatched, so let's join them."
"Wait, what about our spy suits?" Alex asked.
"It's one of the new features of your x-powders." Jerry stated.
The girls opened them and pressed a button causing their normal outfits to be replaced by their suits. While this was cool, they'd have more time to marvel at their new feature later. The ground opened beneath the group and they were off.
Streets of Beverly Hills
While Danny and David were unconscious, and the girls and Jerry were on their way, Dean and Britney had been among some of the first agents dispatched. Like David, Britney had become Dean's teammate rounding out their trio.
Dean was a vegetarian, but this sight didn't appeal to him as he went about cutting through the vines with a double-bladed beam sword. "I like vegetation as much as the next guy, but this is going overboard."
"We just have to keep going." Britney stated. "We should arrive at Undergrowth soon." She smiled. "If Danny hasn't already taken care of him that is."
Yeah, over the last three months Danny felt comfortable adding Britney to the growing list of people that knew who he was.
"Soon enough, we'll need to secure another route because these vines are growing over faster than we can tear through…" Dean suddenly screamed drawing Brittney's attention.
The guy's Spector Deflector was sparking as a vine had managed to ensnare the super spy and drag him away.
"Dean!" Brittney shouted.
She was swarmed by vines preventing her from rescuing the guy.
Yakuza2010(M.O.S-S1): I would agree that Dash should know right from wrong; however, that idea becomes diluted when dealing with Tim Scam... in my opinion. I mean, we always hear how great of a spy, not just tech guy, Tim was. Of course, we see examples of this, so I figured one heck of a silver tongue wouldn't be out of the question. Not to mention, a silver tongue that is only further solidified by his other skills.
That's not to say certain people won't ever wise up to him, but I can't make it to easy. I figured that Danny and Sam declaring their love here worked considering how much Danny has been through and how vocal Sam has been about staying by his side, so glad you liked it. Yeah, those other stories were great as was Galactik Football. I used to watch Jetix, but I never saw this show until you recommended it.
Matt(M.O.S-S1): It was indeed the same ghost.
Jebest4781(M.O.S-S1: I have plans moving forward.
