I don't own anything.

I have just discovered the amazing show "Luther" and I was watching the second series and realized how much I ship John Luther and Justin Ripley, so I wrote this little fanfic.

Set during episode 2 of series 2. A/U slightly.

John Luther hoped that his hunch that Justin Ripley could look after himself was right.

If he was wrong, then...he couldn't even think about that.

It wasn't that long ago that he had lost Zoe; first to another man and and then to murder; and even though Alice tried to win his heart, John knew that was a dangerous road to go down.

But he had his friendship with Justin and, even when he was at his lowest, Justin was there to support him and just be his friend.

Was that all he was? A friend? John had never felt this way about another man before, but Justin wasn't just another man.

And that was why he couldn't be wrong. Justin had been kidnapped by a killer that Luther and the team were tracking and when the killer called the office, Luther had put Justin in danger.

Only he knew (more like hoped) that he had made the right choice when he ignored the killer.

So, when Luther was driving around later, he was relieved when he got a call; Justin had escaped.

Luther drove to where Justin was and he practically jumped out of the car, and ran to Justin.

"Are you okay?", John asked. He looked at the younger man, and, apart from blood on his face and shirt collar, he looked okay.

Justin nodded, "I'm good, boss", he smiled.

John couldn't help himself, he hugged Justin, just relieved and glad that he was back.

It felt good to hold him. Justin was his one constant that was always there and wanted nothing from him in return.

Luther withdrew from the embrace but didn't let go of Justin. He looked into his eyes.

"I don't know what I would have done if I lost you", John told him.

Justin smiled, "But you didn't".

"I know but.." John didn't get to finish his sentence, as Justin slammed his lips against John's lips.

John, surprised but pleased, responded, and deepened the kiss.

The police radio beeped, bringing the two men back into the moment.

"Sorry if I over-stepped the mark", Justin said, as John pulled away.

John smiled at him, "You really didn't", he told the younger man. "I wanted to kiss you for so long".

Justin nodded, "Lets go and get this guy and then we can, um, talk?"

John knew that sounded like the best idea he had ever heard.

"I cant think of anything better", John replied.
