Here's the one-shot I'd promised!

I don't own any of the Kaichou wa Maid sama! characters.

Fluffy clouds overhead.

The breeze making the leaves rustle and sway, hypnotizing in its own way.

The shade from the evening sun, paired with the soft wind, had a soothing effect.

And the feel of grass underneath her back, gently brushing against her form that lay spread-eagled on the ground.

.

.

.

"So I see that Misa-chan escaped her husband of three hours to make snow angels on the grass. Hmm, I wonder what I can call that….grass angels…?"

Misaki had jerked off her relaxed position into a stiff sitting position as she heard his voice, stiffening even more as she heard 'escape'.

"I'm not escaping! I just wanted to cool off!" she said, her ever-present blush on her face.

"Is that why you're still wearing your jacket?"

"I…that….that is none of your business!" she replied, turning away from him.

"Yosh, yosh, calm down now. I think it is my business since I'm your husband now, though."

"Hmph!"

"Seriously though, the first thing you wanted to do after our marriage was lie under a tree and look at the clouds, alone?"

She grimaced slightly, and retorted, "Not necessarily alone."

"So Misa-chan doesn't mind if my humble presence accompanied hers?"

"I-idiot! You don't have to talk that way…"

His voice turned into a whine, "But Misa-chan is the powerful queen, and I am but an ever-helpful servant."

"B-baka! Stop spouting nonsense! And yes, you can join me, as a normal human being!"

"Haha, Misa-chan is so funny."

He plopped down on the grass next to her, where she was still sitting.

Lying down, he said, "Now, why don't we get back to where Misa-chan left off?"

"Sure."

The wind whistled over their forms, both of them one foot across from each other.

They lay like that for a long time, only a few birds' occasional chirping breaking the silence.

"Misaki."

"Yeah?" she lifted her head slightly to look at his eyes, which were staring up at the moving clouds.

"I love you, you know."

She slumped back on to the grass, her blush intensifying by the minute. It was embarrassing enough when he was teasing, but when he was being serious?

A few seconds of silence passed, until she finally replied, feeling rather out-of-breath.

"Yeah."

Takumi waited for a few more seconds to pass, till he finally lost any shred of self-control.

He shot up from the grass and said, "So?"

Misaki looked up at him, bending her chin upwards a bit, since she was looking at him upside-down.

"What?"

Takumi had been staring at her, eyeing the slight blush lingering on her cheeks, and looked up to make eye-contact at her stupid question.

Another pause, till he let out a long breath he didn't even know he had been holding, and flopped back down.

"Nothing."

"You know….."

He glanced sideways, and repeated her earlier question in the same light tone.

"What?"

"I might just love you too."

"Might?"

"I mean, yes, I think I do." She said, her voice getting softer and softer with each syllable she uttered.

"You think?" he said, the teasing tone back in his voice.

"Ugh! Yes, I love you! There, are you happy now?"

.

.

"I've never been happier. Thank you, Misaki."

The happiness she could hear in his voice before he kissed her made her feel ten times happier than she was during the wedding. Ah, slight correction.

She'd never been happier than this her whole life.
