The Pilot: Part 1: The Job
.
In the orbit of a desert planet were a fleet of warships, all of these wore the symbol of the Empire. The Galactic Empire's vessels had also a noticeable difference to their common comrades: a wreath was around this mark. A golden wreath of pride and nobility.
Fourteen, formerly Republic utilized, yet renovated Arquitens-Class Light Cruisers, these were around four, larger ships. Those were the Immobilizer 418 cruisers, otherwise known as Drag Ships, or as Interdictor-class Heavy Cruisers.
Eighteen Carrack-Class frigates, ten in gunship configuration and eight in light cruiser configuration, these starships were around the flagship: the Victory I-Class star destroyer, the Lemillion.
This fleet was a total of 37 vessels, all led by its admiral-deputy: a young, blond man. Ready to prove his worth, he blockaded the planet with his force to make sure no one will leave without their word.
As the proving youth stood at his ship's bridge, which is the flagship in the fleet, his superior called him through hologram.
"Do they detected your forces?" asked him the man.
"No, they aren't. However, we'll get our reinforcements." replied surely the youth.
"Reinforcements?" the superior was puzzled.
"To tell the truth, I sent a hire call to some bounty hunter guilds." revealed the blue eyed officer.
"Seriously? Hopefully they'll gather proper bounty hunters." sighed the man wearing his glasses through the hologram. "You know this is a difficult action." reminded him the stern adult.
"Of course. They won't go after my head after all." replied the less experienced commander, this earned a smile from his boss.
.
In a wretched town from the salt desert planet called Naci, a group of four marched to the bondsman in the local guild's hub.
They were one of the most infamous, yet most seasoned bounty hunter team in the Outer Rim, Tungsten Four is a feared band led by Wolfram, their stout, yet strong muscle was Daigo, vibroswords wielded by Swordkil, who was known to kill a few Jedi in close combat, Nobu was their supply manager and skilled enough to fool even the best eyes with his pickpocketing skills.
"Hey bondsman! Any job for us?" asked the metal masked man, Wolfram from the bondsman.
"Of course." the called Devaronian man was also one among the unfortunates to mediate with the feared four. "There is one from an Imperial group." he replied.
"Good." now, the leader was really intrigued.
.
On planet Gahmot was the infamous bounty hunting group led by Nine, this mysterious masked man was a known Force-sensitive and wielded very well, Chimera, a failed super-soldier, he is very strong physically, Mummy, this man was Force-sensitive too, as well Slice, however, this masked man manipulated his extra bandages with it and the redhead woman preferred to manipulate her own, long hair.
"Hey Nine!" called the Twi'lek bondsman the team leader on his known name.
"Yes? What would you like?" asked him the called out person.
"There is a job your team can handle." started the blue-skinned broker.
.
Team Innsmouth was on the water filled planet Lantis, when their leader was approached by the local bounty hunter bondsman.
"Innsmouth. Your group might be interested in this." started the dark-skinned human.
"Is it a job for us? Good." exclaimed the octopoid man.
Team Reservoir Dogs were close too, they joined forces with the Team Innsmouth, and they'll share the earned money with each other.
.
The L.A. duo was looking for a well earning job and the Trandoshan bondsman from the local hub of bounty hunters had one which included a desert planet and an Imperial client to the boot.
.
Planet Themis was one of the several Outer Rim planets with a bounty hunter hub, although there were some problems to those, who would use this area. First, the planet's dominant species were strongly matriarchal and female oriented. Second, the air is unbreathable, ergo you must bring your air support with you here. And last they hated those who weren't hiding themselves.
Unlike a person in green armor, this fellow always wore their equipment and never showed their face either. It was simple for a Mandalorian, who was a bounty hunter. Over the worn jetpack was a poncho-like cape, in their left hand was a rifle, this could either fire blaster bolts or slug projectiles.
The natives practically loved them, because no one knew their real identity, maybe only a few Mando. This person did every work without complications, their favorite was helping children or taking down criminals. They're also respected the female, although they turned down their advances politely.
"Hi Mando!" greeted them a cheerful child, she liked to be around the bondsman mother of hers.
"Hi. How are you?" greeted back the hunter, they just barely entered the hub, their mask distorted their voice.
"Thanks, I'm fine. How are you?" replied the girl, she knew, which Mando is this one.
"I'm fine too." told her the stoic person.
"Green Hunter." called them the woman handling the bounties, she was among the few here to call this Mandalorian as the Green Hunter, although there were others calling them this way.
"What can I help?" asked her the visitor.
"Have you heard about the planet Sakai?" she continued.
"Sakai? That's a crime syndicate's home. What is it about them?"
"An Imperial Remnant's officer sent a bounty on a group of theirs, either dead or alive."
"Anything else to be known?" asked the hunter.
"There might be others going there and a taskforce from that Remnant is there, they won't let them leave."
"Rivals and a backup. Unless they want to capture some bounty hunters."
"Is it a problem?"
"Not to me." told her the viridian fighter. "I'm ready to visit them."
"They'll pay you well if you're fast enough." said the woman.
"No ship or starfighter is faster than my vehicle." replied the Mando.
"You're the fastest and the best!" exclaimed the child.
"I'll bring a souvenir to you." promised the helmeted fellow to the girl as they turned to her, turned back to the female bondsman and said. "I'll be back."
"Have a good time. See you soon Green Hunter. I wish you luck on your hunt." wished the woman as the hired gun left.
Outside of the hub and nearby was a starship, this resembled of a Fury-Class Interceptor, but it was much larger than that. This is the Green Hunter's craft: the Ashcrest.
Door opened as they walked in and closed when they were in, entering the cockpit the systems activated to the flight. Putting down the rifle they sat into the primary pilot seat and started the engines.
"Alright madman. I'm coming for you." said the Mandalorian as he made the starship fly, the people outside witnessed with the rapid departure and the girl, who liked them waved to the leaving hunter.
Escaping the orbit the pilot inputted the coordinates and jumped into the hyperspace. The job. Nobody could do a succeed a job like this better than them.
