Zarc carried Yuya into their new bedroom and laid him down on the bed. The bed was a circular mattress with many pillows and blankets on it, some blankets were heavy and some were light, all of them seemed too soft to exist. Zarc closed the curtain that surrounded the bed and laid down with Yuya and held him close. Yuya was still anxious and shaky from what he had gone through earlier that day.

"It's alright." Zarc said softly, "they can't get you here." Yuya flicked his tail and leaned closer into Zarc, he was too distressed to speak but Zarc's gentle tone was definitely helping. Zarc began to pet Yuya's head. "I've whisked you away from that cruel and unforgiving world, it's just going to be you, me and your brothers from now on. Ok?" he meant what he was saying, he had been betrayed by humans one too many times to let them anywhere near his children, the thought of siding with them for any reason made him sick.

Yuya was silent for a moment, "do you promise?" he whispered. It wasn't that he didn't believe Zarc, it was the memory of what they did that made him fear the idea of ever seeing their faces again. He remembered the feeling of losing his eyes, of losing his jaw.

Zarc just looked at him and smiled, "of course, and if they do try and come near you I'll lock them in the dungeon" "do we have a dungeon?" "obviously, every good castle has a dungeon. If it doesn't then it's not a castle" he chuckled a bit. Yuya had stopped shaking but he still had that distressed look in his eyes. The look as faded as they continued to talk, it faded slowly but it was fading.

"Are we going to cuddle often?" Yuya asked, "Everyday, during bed time, when it's rainy and when it's sunny, I will always make time for you" Zarc replied. Zarc never wanted to be away from his sons, they were all he wanted and needed. He would give up being king if it meant they would be safe. Yuya chuckled a little bit, he couldn't remember a time someone cared for him this much. It made him question how much his old parents like him, he could only think about how his mother would watch someone else's kid cook all day. She barely would acknowledge him.

Yuya shook the thoughts from his head and looked up at Zarc. he yawned as Zarc pulled blankets over them. "Thank you" Yuya muttered, he was a little embarrassed to say it. "You don't have to thank me." Zarc said, Zarc kissed Yuya on the head and told him good night. Yuya fell asleep in Zarc's arms.
