Miguel POV

My name is Miguel Diaz, all my life I've been someone who's wanted to fight back, to show people that I'm not someone to be pushed over; but unfortunately, I've never really had the right body for that, I'm just that scrawny immigrant to most people. Originally, I'm from Ecuador, but we had to flee when I was a baby because my dad was in with some real shady business. Recently, I've just moved to Reseda, some shitty and ratty part of West Valley, California. Right now, I'm getting the mail out of the mail box, when I hear someone coming out of their home; turning around I see a rough and bearded man carrying a tool box. Deciding to be nice and introduce myself to him, I walk over and try and make some conversation, Miguel style of course.

"Hey, I'm Miguel" I say with a wide smile on my face, maybe I shouldn't smile like that, it shows off my braces.

"Great more immigrants" the man mutters, okay, so the guys a racist.

"Actually were from Riverside" I defend, I mean technically I am an immigrant, but sometimes it isn't something I'm proud of. "But anyways, I was just wondering if you were having trouble with your water pressure, 'cause I know our sink's being a little weird right now and, oh, bottles go in the blue bin". Damn, so the guy hates the environment, prick. The man turns towards me and looks me up and down.

"Listen, Menudo. L've lived in this shithole for over ten years. The pipe's don't work. The fountain's full of piss. And the only good thing about being here is I don't have to talk to anybody. So nice knowing you". Ouch.

"Okay, well... have a nice day, I guess I mutter; my Yaya always told me when was a kid that it was really important for me to be the better man, to be the more honourable person, no reason being mean to the guy if he doesn't even want to interact with me at all.

"Miggy!" My mother called me from inside our new home, causing me to grudgingly walk into the ratty place. My mother came bustling out of her bedroom and greeted me with a warm, but very fake smile.

"What is it mum?" I ask, I knew that smile, she wanted me to do something for her which she didn't want to do herself.

"Once you've finished unpacking honey, could you go and get some Pepto Bismol for your Yaya?" She asked, causing me to groan, diarrhoea medicine; really mum? Reluctantly I nod and head to my bedroom to begin unpacking. "Oh and Miggy! Don't have too late of a night honey, tomorrow you need to wake up early and go to LaRusso Auto Group to pick up our car". Recently, like two weeks ago when we were moving to Reseda, mum accidentally dented the car when we were driving from Riverside, so we had to postpone our move in date for two weeks; the car's going to be given back tomorrow, we had to take a bus to get from Riverside to Reseda, it was hell.

Eventually, when it was quite late at night, I headed the closest convince store to get my grandma some diarrhoea meds.

3rd POV

Daniel LaRusso's life was incredible, he had an incredible job, incredible children, an incredible wife, everything was perfect; well not everything. For you see, Daniel missed his father figure, his sensei, his mentor, Mr. Miyagi. Daniel never knew his father, he left or he died, Daniel's mum never elaborated because it was a sore subject for her; but it didn't matter anymore, Daniel was being bullied and in that situation one might go to their father for help, but his father wasn't there for him. Daniel suffered because of the lack of a paternal figure in his life, he was thrown off a cliff, and he was picked on non stop because he had a lot of spirit; life wasn't very good until he met Mr. Miyagi.

Mr. Miyagi filled the paternal void in Daniel's life, helped him with his bullies and gave him karate, something which Daniel decided he was eternally grateful for. Mr Miyagi stood through Daniel through thick and thin, he was Daniel's best man when Amanda became Mrs. LaRusso, and he was also declared Sam's godfather; but death finally claimed the old man, three weeks before Anthony was born, and Daniel's void was no longer filled. The karate champion was broken when Anthony was born, he grew more distant from Sam, only slightly, but deep down he knew that it was because he missed Mr. Miyagi. But none of that mattered right now, now Amanda wanted him to get some eggs, so Daniel decided to head to his old town of Reseda.

When Mr. LaRusso entered the convenience store, headed straight for the section which held the eggs, he saw a skinny latin American teenager looking through the medical section. Picking up a box of eggs, Daniel walked towards the till, with the hispanic teenager behind him; Daniel gave the shopkeeper the eggs in his hand and swiped his credit card, waiting for the transaction to go through. He turned around and looked at a nervous looking Miguel, who was very conscious that he was carry diarrhoea medicine.

"My grandma's not feeling very well, the medicine helps her with he diarrhoea, I'm Miguel by the way" Miguel stuttered, causing Daniel to smile in recognition, his mother used to send him on the same embarrassing errands as well.

"Oh believe me, I know all to well how annoying and embarrassing it can be sometimes; I remember this one time" Daniel said with a far away look in his eyes, but was cut off when hip hop music blasting on loud speakers, turning around Miguel and Daniel saw four teenagers coming out of the car.

"Hey, yo, Brucks, get the light beer this time, Kyler texted me and said that it was the best one for the occasion" a tall boy with brown hair demanded as he pushed past a fat blond boy who walked with overzealous swagger. Daniel was handed back his eggs because the transaction had finally gone through, giving a respecting nod towards Miguel, he headed off back towards his car. Daniel exited the store with the eggs in hand, walking to his car, he opened the passenger door and put the eggs on the seat; until he began to hear some worrying things.

"What the hell are you doing?" The boy with the brown hair demanded as he pushed Miguel, the lackeys who were surrounding him jeering, it reminded Daniel of his own childhood.

"Why you got to blow up our spot?"

"Man, he thought we were in college, dumb-ass."

"I didn't know you guys were trying to buy beer", Miguel responds, fear laced in his voice, Daniel cringed because he knew that voice all too well; the gang respond with a punch to the gut and to the head. Miguel weakly puts his fists up in an attempt to appear threatening and throws his fist, his gangly arms wildly travelled through the air, caught by one of the bullies; the fat blond boy kicked Miguel onto the gravel and began to kick his lungs.

"What do you got? Pepto. Oh, shit, someone has frickin' diarrhoea" the ringleader snickered, causing the others to brainlessly laugh along as well.

"Hey, we should call him 'Rhea."

Laughter.

"Give it back, dude. What are you ta... It's for my grandma" Miguel whimpered.

More laughter.

"Oh, it's for your grandma. Ah, shit, l'm sorry, man"
Even more laughter.

"Hey, you want it? Hey, you can take all that…" the boy with brown hair snarled as he poured the sticky liquid all over the Ecuadorian boy.

Images flashed through Daniel's head, images of when he first met Alli, images of when Johnny Lawrence and his gang bullied him at the beach, the football pitch, in school, at the Halloween dance, the All Valley tournament when his leg was hurt, when Mr. Miyagi healed it, and when he finally pulled off the Crane Kick. He wouldn't stand by and let Miguel be hurt, no, he had to do something.

"Hey! Leave him alone!" Daniel shouted to the teenagers, approaching them with determination in his stride, the teenagers looked up to see the car salesmen storming over to them.

"Hey man! Who do you think you are, we're just having a bit of fun, aren't we 'Rhea", the boy with brown hair said, looking down at Miguel menacingly, whilst Brook chortled ,"Get the hell out of here looser". The other two boys who were kicking Miguel stopped and walked over to LaRusso and tried to push him, only for the karate champion to evade both of the strikes.

The taller boy then rounded on Daniel with a furious assault of his large fists, but Daniel was prepared; using the moment of one of the punches, Mr. LaRusso pulled the arm with expert precision, causing the thug to trip over the car salesman's foot. Miguel, now sporting a bloodied nose and bruised eye, looked up in awe at the sight of Daniel LaRusso standing in a position way cooler than bruise lee could ever pull off.

The shortest boy in the group, seeing what happened to his friend yelled and moved to tackle the middle aged man, Daniel seeing this in the corner his eye rolled to the side and extended his leg; the teenager who tried to tackle him was probably a football player, Daniel mused, as he watched the boy fall over his leg. Bruck came charging at Daniel next, trying to club him with his meet fists, but to no avail, for the Karate Champion kept on dodging and jabbing until Bruck was too tired and hurt to continue his onslaught. Finally the brown haired boy joined the fight and threw punches at a furious rate, but still he was no match for Daniel LaRusso, for he was telegraphing all of his moves. Using the drum technique which Mr. Miyagi taught him, Daniel blocked and waited for an opening, and when it finally came he pulled on the arm of the teenager and flipped the boy over his shoulder.

All of the boys had a look of fear in their eyes as they got up and scrambled away, picking each other up, and whimpering.

"We'll tell Kyler about you 'Rhea!" The boy with brown hair shouted as he got into his car and drove off, Bruck in the passenger seat, and the other two boys in the passenger seats.

With his arms shaking, Miguel grunted as he began to get up, and accepted the hand which Daniel LaRusso offered him to pull him up.

"Dude, what was the Bruce Lee Kung Fu you just pulled off? Was it Tae Kwon Do or was it MMA or Jujitsu or Krav Maga?" Miguel asked, the awe still present in his eyes, as Daniel chuckled.

"It was Miyagi Do" Daniel replied with a content smile plastered onto his face, but after seeing Miguel's confused look, he elaborated. "Karate. Miyagi Do is my form of Karate", causing the teenager to look excited.

"Could you teach me?" Miguel questioned excitedly.

"I'm sorry but I don't really do Karate anymore" Daniel replied sympathetically, softly shaking his head as he walked towards.
"I mean have you ever taught anyone?" The hispanic teen questioned

"Someone yes, but she's stopped now"

"Oh, I mean, what if I had the right reasons to learn?"

"Like?"

"Well, when school starts, those guys are gonna make my life miserable. I gotta learn to defend myself"

"Fighting is usually the last answer to a problem" Daniel said sagely as he climbed into his car; to him this situation was reminding him eerily of when he first met Mr. Miyagi, and Daniel knew that he wasn't cut out to be a mentor, right?

"Could I at least have your name?" Miguel desperately asked.

"Daniel LaRusso"

"Woah my god! My mum's car got damaged and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow at your place. Your the guy who kicks the competition from the billboard. I thought that Karate thing was a gimmick." Miguel said excitedly, maybe he could try and ask Mr. LaRusso tomorrow and check with him again, he needed to learn how to defend himself.

"Well, it isn't a gimmick kid" Daniel replied, as he began to turn on the engine.

"Look, all my life I've been bullied, I've never known my father so I've never really learnt how to defend myself. Every time I try to fight back I come home with a black eye, my family and I just moved here and I was really hoping for a fresh start, but the popular kids at school have already picked me to be their victim and I haven't even started school yet! Please, just, please help" Miguel said, his voice slightly cracking, knowing that he had pulled a dirty move; Miguel didn't like to mention his father, and only mentioned his father when he truly, desperately wanted something. He called it pulling the lack of paternal spirit card.

To Daniel however, he was plunged into his memories of his own childhood; he to lacked a father, was bullied, tried to fight back. The kid had struck a chord with him. He was once the kid, and Mr. Miyagi was once in the same position that he was currently in; Mr. Miyagi saw an angry child who had potential, Miguel was just like him, he needed Miyagi Do. Maybe this was the way for Miyagi Do to finally be passed on to another generation, if Sam didn't want to learn anymore, than maybe he'll just have to find a different successor. Miguel then did something which would alter the course of fate completely, he switched off the engine, and spoke to Miguel instead of driving off; he looked Miguel dead centre in the eye.

"I'll teach you, but you have to promise me that you'll follow my rules, you won't question my teachings, you'll train hard, and you'll commit. You have a week until school starts again, tomorrow is a Monday, you come pick up your mum's car, and then I'll take you to training from 10 am - 6 pm; you'll train with me during the same time slots everyday until school. When school starts you train with me from 5pm till 7pm; you train religiously and vigorously. If you promise to follow this schedule and these rules, I'll train you" Daniel said, his voice taking on an authoritative tone, causing Miguel to nod weakly. Miguel extended his hand, smiling in relief; Daniel extended his own hand, smiling with a satisfied look on his face as he shook the hand of his new apprentice. This would be a pair which would make waves.

"Thanks so much Mr. L" Miguel said, relief coursing through his voice.

"Mr. L" Daniel said, confused as to why he was being called that.

"Yeah, um, I figured that Mr. LaRusso was a bit of a mouthful" Miguel said cheekily.

"Sensei, you should call me Sensei" Daniel said firmly.
"Yeah, nope, sorry but my facial muscles have already decided that Mr. L is the best name for you" Miguel responded, the cheeky grin ever present on his handsome face. Daniel let out an amused chuckle, turned on the engine, and reversed out of the parking lot.

Author Notes:

Hey guys, Potter tosser here, I decided to abandon my MCU fan fiction, because I think that reaction fictions are overdone (plus people didn't like the fact that I bashed Tony). I started a new fan fiction, something which is based off the brilliant, if a bit cringe at times, tv show Cobra Kai. I recommend that you watch it if you haven't. I'm actually quite proud of this fan fiction because it is the first one where it is my own fiction, with only a few bits of Cobra Kai script thrown in.

In this fiction, Miguel will stay good the entire time, and Robby will start off okay and will decline throughout. If you didn't guess already, Robby will be the heavy hitter for Cobra Kai for this fan fiction; I've always never really liked Robby as a character compared to Miguel, as I felt like the RobbyxSam didn't last that long and was really awkward. Robby was the peaceful person because he was taught Miyagi Do, but he threw all his training away in the final fight of season 2, and completely disregarded the peaceful Miyagi Do forms in season 3. Miguel's darkness was slow to overcome him and it took him a whole season and a half before he was fully on board with the No Mercy BS which Kreese spews; even after all of the No Mercy, he showed mercy and honour during the high school fight when he apologised to Robby. I will follow the original canon loosely because Season 4 hasn't come out yet and I'm not sure how that will really go down.

There will be a few timeline changes, like Johnny opens the dojo and immediately invites Robby, in an attempt to mend their relationship; also I will have Sam briefly date Robby after Kyler, just so I can find a way to make it justified for Robby to date Miguel (don't worry Robby and Sam will break up before the All Valley, and MiguelxSam will hopefully start before the end of season 2). I think one of the reasons why Sam causes so much conflict in the show is because she can't decide between Miguel and Robby, until the end of season 3; in my version, once she's done with Robby, she'll be done and it'll just be her and Miguel. Hope you enjoy what's to come, by the way, I'm not sure what my update schedule would be like, so just check once every week or fortnight.
