"Lock the doors and call for backup!"
She locked the doors just as the agent said, but when she tried to use the radio, all she got was static. She watched helplessly from the tinted windows as her security detail was slowly killed off by gunfire. After a few seconds a large muscular man with blond hair ran up to the car and tore the passenger door off. Ashley screamed and tried to move to the door on the opposite side of the car but the blond man quickly grabbed her legs, preventing her escape. She was pulled out of the car, kicking and screaming frantically. Her attacker placed a rag covered in chloroform over her mouth, causing her to lose consciousness. She woke up in a old fashioned storeroom somewhere with a sore neck. During her time there she occasionally heard people talking in spanish and walking around on the other side of a heavy wooden door. After a couple of hours passed, Ashley heard the door opening and saw a man brandishing a handgun with a rifle slung over his shoulder coming through the door. She quickly darted between two barrels, instinctively making herself as small as possible.
"Ashley Graham?"
Ashley ran over to a corner and grabbed a log, waving it desperately to protect herself.
"NO! GET AWAY!"
The man holstered his firearm and began to talk to her.
"Calm down. Everything's going to be just fine. My name's Leon Kennedy. I'm under the President's order to rescue you."
Ashley began to lower the wooden log, hoping that this wasn't a trick.
"What? My father?"
Leon took out his wallet and tossed it to her, then moved back. She bent down and took the wallet with one hand while holding the log with the other, remaining cautious. As she opened the wallet, she saw the identification certificate that proved Leon was a government agent. She dropped the log and nodded, giving the agent his wallet back and took his hand. They climbed down a ladder into a small church and walked out the front door, only to find a large group of villagers headed toward the church. Leon pointed toward a nearby cabin which they quickly ran toward. Once inside, Ashley tells Leon that she thinks they injected her with something and pointed to her neck. A hidden trap door opens up and Luis offers to help them. Leon and Ashley decide to escape through the trap door with Luis. Luis leads them through a series of underground tunnels until they come out of another trap door hidden underneath a truck parked next to a building. Leon crawls out from under the truck first, making sure the area is secure.
"Clear."
Ashley and Luis crawled out from underneath the truck.
"This building was a mining facility that was recently been converted as a laboratory to research a parasite called 'Las plagas'. Lord Saddler employed me to do research on it, then ordered my death when he found out I knew too much. He has also injected you two with this parasite. You've been coughing up blood right?"
Ashley and Leon look at each other concerned, then turn to Luis and nod.
"Damn it, the eggs have hatched! We don't have much time. We have to go inside the laboratory to get a drug that will stop your convulsions and slow down the growth of the parasites."
They go inside, allowing Luis to lead them through the facility into the laboratory. Luis quickly ran to a supply cabinet and got a pill container.
"Here it is L…urrrk.
A tentacle with a sharp protuberance suddenly appeared from a air vent stabbing Luis. Luis dropped the container and kicked it over to Leon just as the tentacle began to lift him up into the air, slicing through his internal organs. The tentacle then dislodged itself from Luis, pulling itself back into the air vent. Leon quickly pointed his handgun at the air vent, only to fall to his feet, clutching his chest painfully. He looked up and saw a man in a purplish robe decorated with a strange keylike symbol come out of an adjoining room to the laboratory.
"I can feel them, growing ever so strongly inside you."
Lord Saddler held out his hand, commanding the parasite inside Leon to take control. He watched as Leon struggled to lift up the handgun while fighting the parasite's control over him.
"Perhaps you can resist, but you cannot disobey."
Saddler turned his attention toward Ashley.
"Now, come to me Ashley."
He took control of the parasite within Ashley and commanded her to follow him. Saddler became annoyed when he saw Leon throw a tracking device onto Ashley's back and ordered her to stop. He walked over to the laboratory table and gave Ashley a surgical scalpel, then walked back to the door, commanding Ashley to kill the government agent. Leon watched Ashley walk toward him and quickly rolled away as Ashley took a swipe at Leon. He swallowed some of the pills that Luis gave him while dodging Ashley's attacks at the same time.
Leon manoeuvred behind Ashley and kicked her thighs, causing her to topple onto the floor. He quickly turned her over and sat on top of her, pinning her arms down with his legs. Grabbing Ashley's jaw, he forced it open to give her some of the pills. He held her down, waiting until she stopped fighting him to make sure the pills worked. Leon turned to fire at Saddler but he was now gone. He felt something hitting his leg and looked down to see Ashley slapping his leg with her palm.
"Could you get up now please?"
Leon nodded and got up, helping Ashley up as well. They turned toward a loudspeaker when they heard Saddler's voice.
"I am going to introduce you to a test subject of mine that Luis helped me create. I call it a regenerator. It should keep you entertained. Writhe in my cage of torment my friend!"
The adjoining door of the laboratory area slid open, allowing a eight foot tall humanoid creature with greyish skin and red eyes to step out. The regenerator looked at them and seemed to grin, baring it's sharp teeth while breathing heavily. It started to move toward them, staggering like a drunk person. Leon took the handgun out of his holster and pointed it at the creature, telling Ashley to move back. He fired two rounds into the creature's head, causing it to stop. Leon paused momentarily, still pointing the handgun at the creature and noticed it's wounds already beginning to heal.
"ASHLEY RUN!"
Leon fired at the creature's kneecaps and it toppled to the floor, still alive. He ran out of the laboratory and closed the door, taking this opportunity to run after Ashley but she was nowhere to be seen.
"ASHLEY! ASHLEY WHERE ARE YOU?"
He heard the door to the laboratory being smashed open and had to find Ashley quickly. He moved into a nearby hallway that had a row of stone pillars in it's center and two balconies on either side.
"Been a long time comrade."
Leon looked up and saw Jack Krauser, a government agent that had previously been assigned to protect Ashley Graham, but was suspended and under investigation for the possible taking of a bribe.
"I kidnapped Ashley in order to gain Saddler's trust! Now prepare for your death Leon!"
Leon ducked behind the first stone pillar and was pinned down by machine gun fire. He heard heavy breathing to his right and turned to see the regenerator staggering into the hall after him.
"SHIT!"
A single gunshot came from the other balcony followed by Krauser swearing at someone who threw a paper covering something heavy down to him. Leon grabbed the paper covered object and darted to the next pillar, keeping out of reach of the regenerator. He looked up when he heard Krauser had engaged in a firefight with the unseen individual, then unfolded the paper, revealing a grenade. He started to read the paper, stopping to occasionally glance at both the slowly advancing regenerator and the firefight above him.
"This is a flash grenade. Throw it toward the regenerator and it will be blinded for at least an hour. MAKE SURE TO COVER YOUR EYES!"
Leon threw the grenade and covered his eyes. He heard the creature make a loud shriek of panic and looked up to see it was flailing it's arms frantically. Leon leaves through a nearby door to try to find Ashley again. After running through various rooms and constant doubling back to avoid the regenerator he found her in the laboratory area sedated and sealed in a glass chamber with air holes. Leon freed her from the chamber and administered adrenaline to counteract the sedative. While waiting for Ashley to wake up, he reads notes that were left behind by Luis to find out how to kill the parasites. Ashley wakes up and is informed on that the parasites cannot survive in a dead body and get rid of the parasites by electrocuting themselves. He grabs a defibrillator and lies down on a gurney.
"You'll have to use this to stop my heart, wait six minutes, then use the defibrillator again to restart my heart."
Ashley gave him an alarmed look.
"Are you sure about this?!"
Leon nodded and put a leather strap in his mouth to bite down on. Ashley used the defibrillator on Leon, bringing to a state of clinical death. She waited six minutes, then electrocuted him again, hoping for the best. After he survived Leon repeated the process on Ashley. As Leon used the defibrillator, she felt a painful but momentary jolt then everything went black. She felt a secondary jolt and immediately sat upright, then leaned over and threw up. She felt Leon's hand on her shoulder and turned around to face him.
"Ashley are you ok?"
Ashley looked at him for a few seconds then hugged him tightly. As soon as they leave the laboratory Leon heard a woman's voice shout.
"Here! Use this!"
A woman in a red dress threw Leon a map, telling Ashley and Leon to leave the island. Leon stares at the woman as she leaves.
"It can't be…"
He opened up the map, finding out that it points the way to a dock.
Ada ran to her pick up point carrying a stolen las plagas sample only to be stopped when a man partially covered in blood blocked her path and drew out a large combat knife.
"I'm going to bring your head back to Wesker, you treacherous bitch!"
Ada smiled at Jack sarcastically.
"Apparently I jumped the gun when I reported to Wesker that you dead. Think of the paperwork if you were to turn up…alive."
Jack charged toward Ada angrily as she smiled, eager to give her a slow painful death.
While Leon was piloting the waverunner toward a beach where he could set up a signal fire Ashley got knocked off when the watercraft hit a rock hidden underneath the water. He came to a stop and pulled Ashley out of the water, then continued toward the beach. He carefully drove onto the beach and came to a stop.
"You should take off your sweater before you catch cold."
He gives Ashley his bomber jacket and rifle just in case and went to collect firewood for a signal fire. After coming back with firewood and building a fire, he holds Ashley close to him to keep her warm while trying to stay professional, reminding himself she's the president's daughter. Leon was woken by Ashley later that night when a detail of agents showed up, led by Ingrid Hunnigan. Ingrid checked Ashley to see if she was ok. She and the other agents led Leon and Ashley to a small boat docked offshore. They all got on and the pilot steered the boat toward the USS Alabama. Once on board, Ingrid took Leon into an office to ask what happened while they were out of contact. He took a bunch of files stuffed into his jacket that he retrieved from the facility and told her about Jack Krauser's involvement, the Las Plagas influence in the US and the helicopters leaving the island for Spain. He also tells them about Umbrella's possible involvement.
Epilogue:
Ada was in a helicopter headed for an umbrella base headed for Spain talking to Wesker via a videophone.
"Do you have the Las plagas sample?"
Ada nodded and held up a vial containing a purplish liquid.
"Very good. It seems Leon doesn't die easily. We'll have to keep an eye on him."
Albert Wesker ended the conversation and sat in his chair, waiting patiently for the sample to be delivered.
