It was a beautiful day in Station Square, the flowers were blooming, the birds were singing and the kids were running around in the liberty of summer time. Any normal family would be out today, enjoying the breeze in a barbeque or going to an amusement park. The McDuck Family however, weren't a normal family.

Today they were in the Station Central National Racecar Stadium, surrounded by sweaty fans, the loud sound of cars and the increasingly hot temperatures courtesy of the asphalt.

"Oh wow, racing is sooooo fun." said Louie Duck, the young man wearing a green hoodie, not taking his eyes off his phone as he ignored the race in front of him.

"You know, racing is actually a very interesting and engaging sport if you actually watch it." Huey Duck said as he used his red cap to fan himself from the heat as he took notes the cars as they quickly zoomed, making sure to know who was on the lead. Not because he actually liked but because it gave him something to do.

"Yeah, so much fun watching them go around in circles for two hours." Dewey said equally as bored as his green sibling.

Webby, the only girl in the group, turned towards the old man. "Why are even here in the first place, Uncle Scrooge? Are races even really that fun?"

"Oh I don't really care for the race, I'm just waiting for it to finish." The old Scottish duck said as he watched the cars zoom by disinterested. "I have some business with one of the racers."

"Wait, then why did we buy the ticket and watch the whole race!" Louie said exasperated.

"Because now I don't have to wait for his schedule to open up." Scrooge said as he stood up and walked away "Now come along children! I have a little chat I want to have."

"But the race!"

"Bah, I already know who gonna win, rumbustious rapscallion always does!"

Confused by that statement, the three boys and one girl followed their elderly uncle down the steps and into a racers trailer. With nothing to do and finally in someplace with air conditioners, they finally let themselves relax and have a little break from the heat and the loud noises from the stadium. At least 3 of them did, Webby Vanderquack-McDuck had other things in mind as she looked around the trailer, opening cabinets and lockers.

She knew it was a possible invasion of privacy but an acquaintance of Scrooge she didn't have any knowledge about? She just needed to know about what kind of person he was! Finally, she came across the thing that could give her those answers, a photo album.

While she read the album too enthralled to notice anything else, the doors to the trailer opened revealing a young male hedgehog in a racers outfit and bright blue quills in his back, who just stopped and stood there as he noticed who was there.

"Scrooge McDuck, you ol' sack of bills!" the young hedgehog said jovially and he shook hands with the old duck. "What brings you here? And who are these kids?"

"Oh sorry about the sudden visit Maurice, these are my nephews and my…let's say niece to make it simple, no they aren't Donald's." Scrooge said before the young hedgehog could ask the obvious question "As for what brings me here, well it's about that thing we did a few years back…"

"Wait ,wait ,wait, can we take a moment to at least explain what's going on?" Dewey said exasperated at the two adults "How does Uncle Scrooge know Ogilvie Maurice, the fastest racer this season?"

"How do you know that?" Huey asked.

"I know stuff, very specific and unrelated stuff but I know it."

"Oh that? I actually worked with your Uncle way back when I was your age!" Maurice said to the kids "Of course, those days I didn't go by Maurice, I went by- "

"SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!" Webby suddenly interrupted, jumping up from the spot from where she was reading the album.

"Wait, the same Sonic who defeated a mad scientist all by himself?" Louie asked.

"The same Sonic who saved the world multiple times 10 years ago?!" Huey asked.

"The same Sonic that's often described as the Fastest Thing Alive on foot?!" Dewey.

"Yep, yep and yeeeeep." Sonic said responding to each and every one of their questions. "Of course, these days I can't exactly run around at the speed of sound so I have to make due with fast cars…"

"That's actually why I'm here!" Scrooge said interrupting the boy's fanboy questions as he passed a file to Sonic. "It's about that night 20 years ago, in Angel Island."

Sonic went serious as he then began to read the file, becoming more and more interested on what the old Duck had just brought to him.

A few days later…

After making sure everything was in order and they had the right provisions, Scrooge McDuck and his family along with Sonic met up in his private airport, ready to take off into another adventure. The blue race car driver arrived fashionably late, just a few minutes before the arranged meeting. He looked around the place, still quite impressed by the McDuck's wealth even after all these years, when he felt something tackling him in a bear hug.

"Come here you, big needly jerk!" Della said as she hugged Sonic, careful to not touch his spikes.

"Wow, Della! Man, it's been a while!" Sonic said as he returned the hug. "How've you've been?"

"Oh you know, trapped in the moon for a decade, discovering aliens, coming back and dealing with the repercussions of not being in your kids' lives." Della said without breaking eye contact as she described her life. "You know, the usual."

"Never a dull moment with you huh?" Sonic said lightheartedly, making sure not to step into that landmine. "Where's Donald anyhow?"

"Oh he's with his girlfriend sailing the world and all that, big palooka almost left without saying goodbye." She said annoyed. "But hey, what's up with you! Big Time Race Car Driver? You are making it big now."

"Hehe, well you know me I never knew when to slow down." Sonic responded.

The two friends then began to catch up, getting more in depth about each of their adventures ever since the last time they saw each other. The other members of the family that were going on this adventure watched the two catch up with interest that had accumulated since yesterday.

"I still can't believe you guys met Sonic the Hedgehog!" Dewey to Scrooge as he helped move somethings on the plane. "I mean, I modeled my entire person around that guy!"

"Really?" Webby asked the other two brothers.

"He got really into him when he was young, zooming around the house and repeating the same catchphrases over and over and over and-" Huey said before Louie stopped him.

"It was a dark time for all of us."

"Be that as it may, there are…reasons why it never came up." Scrooge said towards the children before noticing something else. "Reasons I'll explain when the last member of our expedition arrives."

Just as he finished saying that, a blue sports car that looked very futuristic pulled up, barely making any sound. The driver's door opened up as a young yellow fox wearing a lab coat and soldering googles on his head.

"That's Miles Prower!" Huey said surprised. "He is one of the leading heads in the newest aerodynamic and robotic technologies."

"You finally planning on replacing Gyro?" Louie asked not noticing how the many cameras around the hangar suddenly turned towards the group.

"Of course not!" Scrooge said, the cameras slowly returning to place. "He's here for the same reason Sonic is here."

Sonic just now noticed the arriving fox, excusing himself from Della and walking over to him. Miles, also noticing Sonic, walked over his face in a noticeable serious mood. The two stood in front of each other, staring in silence for a few moments before smiling and hugging each other.

"I missed you Sonic!" Miles said cheerfully. "It's been so long!"

"Me too, Tails" Sonic said hugging his brother even tighter. "Me too..."

All the members finally arriving, they made the final arrangements and flew off in the Sunchaser towards their next destiny: Greenhill Islands.
