Yellow Candlelight

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh GX.
Chazz would love to say it had been a trick of the crappy dorm electric system, but since their only light source was a tiny flickering candle, he couldn't be sure. With the power outage due to Crowler's latest attempt to get rid of the Slifers, he accepted Jaden's challenge for a tabletop duel.
He scowled. "I still say you cheated."
Jaden laughed, and struck his favorite end-of-game pose. " And that's game!"
"Hey, boss!" Ojama Yellow interrupted. "Is Jaden's deck supposed to be doing that?"
Chazz's eyes widened. "Your deck is glowing!"
Jaden shrugged."It happens once in a while."
Chazz stood and leaned across the table. Whatever he had been about to say, fell by the wayside when he saw the other boy's once-amber eyes. "Your eyes, Jaden!"
"What about them?"
"They're the color of molten gold or shining brass."
Jaden sighed, and touched his deck gently, pulling out one card in particular. Her light was so bright, it lit up the whole room. "Come out, please."
Chazz started when Burstinatrix materialized. How was Jaden doing this?! They weren't connected to the school's power grid, and the dueling disks weren't working as they should have been.
"She's beautiful, isn't she, huh boss?"
Burstinatrix reached out, cupped Jaden's face and leaned in for a closer look. She noticed the color of his eyes. "Finally," she whispered. Jaden's eyes widened, as she vanished.
Chazz's POV
My mouth must have been hanging open, because of what I saw. Jaden's eyes were half-closed.
"Well?!" I demanded.
Jaden just smiled.
