Chapter 1

"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP"

The blue cat in his bed groaned at the sound of his alarm clock. He lazily reached over for the button. Once he pressed the snooze button, he rolled over facing the wall, falling back to sleep.

"GUMBALL WATTERSON."

The voice startled him awake, nearly hitting his head on the top bunk bed.

He looked over to see his blue cat mother, Nicole standing over him with crossed arms and a deadly stare.

"The bus is going to be here! What are you doing??" She growled at him in frustration.

"Um, sleeping?" He said nervously.

"Get out of bed right now and go get ready for school." She angrily commanded. "This is the 3rd time you did this in a week and a half."

"OK. OK. I'm getting up!" Gumball said panicky as he burst out of bed, grabbed his clothes, and quickly ran into the bath room.

Nicole looked out the window and saw a bus driving by. She shook her head.

Gumball arived at his classroom door, panting. He had missed the bus so he had to run all the way to school. Of course, his mom made him walk instead of driving him there as punishment.

He's only 3 minutes late, not too bad. But his teacher, Mrs. Simian, wasn't having it.

"WATTERSON, YOU ARE LATE AGAIN!"

Everyone in the classroom was looking at him. Some were enjoying the drama.

"Please, I-"

"DETENTION!"

It was finally lunch time and Gumball was poking at his spaghetti. A gold fish with legs named Darwin, also known as Gumball's step brother sat in front with him with a turkey sandwich in his fins. Darwin noticed his brother's mood and said, "Got detention again, eh?"

"Yep." Gumball replied sulkily

Darwin sighed.

"See what happens if you get too lazy to get out of bed?" A familiar voice came from behind.

Gumball scoffed, "I know, I know!" He said as his pink rabbit sister, Anias sat beside him. He then sighed sorrowful, placing his paws on his face. "Now I'm gonna have to cancel my date with Penny… There goes my Friday plans."

"Don't worry about that! There's always a new day, I'm sure she'll understand what happened." Darwin reassured him. "Just don't make the same mistake again for the 3rd time."

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna do it again. I'm going to stop being so lazy and get my life together." Gumball said with atheistically.

"That's the spirit!" Darwin said as he continued to eat his sandwich.

Anias rolled her eyes. "We'll see."

They made stupid comments and jokes and had a conversation about how dumb the teachers are and their sister talking about "boring" sciencey stuff that had to do with her sicence project until the bell rang for class.

"Welp, time to go." Said Darwin, cleaning his mess up and packing some stuff back into his beg. Gumball and Anais did the same too, then they headed to class

After the last class of the day, Gumball broke the news to Penny.

Penny sighed, not at all surprised. "It's ok Gumball. How about on the weekend?"

"Sounds great!" Gumball exclaimed. "Then we'll have the entire day together!"

"Yeah!" Penny cheerfully responded. "Well, see you later."

Gumball waved a paw. "See ya!"

"WATTERSON!" The school's principal, Principal Brown called for him down the hall way.

Startled and annoyed, he shouted "COMING!"

Gumball grabbed some note books he needed out of his locker and head to detention. Or what he likes to call it, "The Dungeon"

He passed by Darwin, who was drinking water out of a water fountain. Darwin noticed his brother's presence and stop drinking.

"Oh, hey Gumball! Good luck."

"Thanks buddy." Gumball said. "I'll see you when I get out, IF I survive."

"Alright! Don't let the principal bite ya." Darwin said teasingly.

Gumball shook his head and rolled his eyes, but with a smile.

Gumball took a seat in a desk in the middle of the dark gloomy room. On that desk, there were a bunch of worksheets Gumball didn't complete.

"I'm expecting all of those to get done for in the next 3 hours." Principal Brown said, who was seated in his own desk.

Without a word, Gumball sat down and began his work.

( This is going to be a LONG evening.) Gumball thought miserably.

He surprisingly got all his work done before 3 hours. He got it all done 10 minutes earlier. Principal Brown decide to let him go, hoping he would finally behave. But he never gotten his hopes up for that.

Gumball walked, half speed walked back home. He was hoping to play his new favourite video game him and his brother had bought last weekend ago.

When he arrived at the door to his home, he heard something… He pressed an ear against the door and listened. He heard his mother screaming through the other end.

( What is what she screaming about this time?) He thought, curiosity kicking in.

He cautiously opened the door and went inside.

What he saw was his mother pacing back and forth in front of the couch. Who was sitting on the couch was his farther, Richard, who was a rabbit like his daughter Anias. He looked very anxious by the look on his face and the way his paws were fiddling.

"Uhhhhh… Mom?"

Their son's voice made them stop what they were doing and looked towards the door where he was standing.

"Gumball!" Nicole shouted. She ran up to him and grabbed his shoulders. "Have you seen your siblings??" She asked, look of stress and worry in her eyes.

"Um, no?" Why?" Gumball answered , confused.

"They haven't showed up here after school. Darwin's not picking up our phone calls either."

"Maybe because… Darwin's phone is dead? That does happen before when he was out and you went freako about it."

"The point is" Nicole grabbed the bridge of her nose, "They always come home right after school. If they need to go somewhere, they always let us know!"

She's right. Gumball did find that odd indeed.

"Maybe we should just go out looking for them?" Richard suggested. "Surely Gumball will know where to find them… Right?"

"Y-yeah! I know the best places where Darwin likes to go. Anias should be with him too." Gumball confidently said. "Just follow me."

"I DON'T GET IT!" Gumball shouted in frustration, pounding his fists onto one of the old broken dump cars.

They were in a junkyard, full of trash and broken down cars. This was the last place Darwin would be in, especially with Anias with him.

They checked all the cars and trucks to see if he had gotten himself trapped inside again, but unfortunately they never found them.

"We've checked the whole town! Where could they be??" Nicole shouted.

"Maybe they're partying in someone's house?" Asked the clueless Rabbit.

"Yeah, I doubt that." Nicole said.

Gumball was pacing back and forth. He knew something was seriously up at the beginning, but convinced himself that nothing was wrong. That his siblings are safe somewhere doing their own thing. But the more he thinks about to, the more the time flies by, making him THINK that something had bad happen to them. Thinking about that was driving Gumball to a mental breakdown.

"That's it, I'm phoning the police." Nicole shakily grabbed her cell phone out of her pocket and dield 911.
