I do not own Royal Pains or any of it's characters.
I am SO excited to be writing a Royal Pains fanfic! Be prepared for a lot of Evan whumpage!!
Enjoy!(:
Evan woke up to raindrops falling on his head. He shivered as he opened his eyes to find the dark patio. He looked at his watch realizing he must have fallen asleep at the table a couple of hours before. He quickly gathered the files, papers and his laptop as he brought them into the house.
He put everything on the island so he could finish working as he put his coffee in the microwave. The fact that it was 3:09 am didn't cross his mind for a second as he opened his laptop taking a much needed sip from the caffeinated beverage.
After a few minutes the coffee kicked in and he was back to crunching the numbers on the client revenue.
"I love you coffee.", Evan said with a smile as he kissed the coffee mug.
As the hours of spreadsheets and financial charts rolled by, Evan barely noticed the golden sun coming in through glass patio doors. With a yawn he looked at his watch to see it was 6:13 am. He stood up to put on another pot of coffee as he went upstairs for a new shirt. Evan wasn't much fazed by the time as he was used to pulling all-nighters.
In a couple minutes he was back downstairs pooring another cup of coffee and looking around for his laptop charger. As he looked for it in the living room he heard Hank come down the stairs.
"Evan? You're up early.", said Hank as he went for the hot pot of coffee still on the counter.
"Yeah. Hey do you know where my laptop charger went? I can't find it anywhere.", said Evan as he looked under the couch.
"No sorry Ev.", Hank replied.
"Oh man please don't let that be it on the table out there!", said Evan.
Hank just chuckled a little as Evan went and grabbed it from the wet patio.
"I don't think there's any chance of saving that Ev.", said Hank who barely looked up from his fruity puffs.
Evan just huffed a little as he threw it in the trash.
"Okay I'm gonna go pick up a new one. I'll be back for the staff meeting at 8:00.", said Evan grabbing his coat.
"Woah relax, you don't need to go right now. You worked all day yesterday after only a couple hours of sleep. Maybe you should just take a break, today is a slow work day anyway.", said Hank.
"Yeah maybe for you, I have two clients to meet with to sign on retainer and I have a bunch of calls to make and bills to send and finances to calculate, ventures to figure out and thats just the beginning. Plus I am an expert on working without sleep. I gotta go okay?", said Evan before Hank could respond.
Hank just sighed as Evan went out the door. Hank guessed Evan had probably not slept much last night either considering he was up before noon. When it came to work Evan was always pushing himself to hard. And though Hank always tried to slow him down Evan was pretty stubborn.
At the end of that hectic day, Evan found himself back where he had been that morning sitting at the table looking at his computer and paperwork.
