Odd Introduction
Walking down the dirt path of a forest is a young man wearing a dark blue cassock with white trimming on the collar, under a long white outer cassock that hides the arms. The cassock is held together with a loose belt and a large silver rectangular brooch emblazoned with the carving of a broken white sword. There is also a thick, orange leather belt around his shoulders.
His face is slightly tanned with blonde hair. His eyes are purplish and characterized by a ripple pattern that spreads over the eyeball. He also has whisker marks on both of his cheeks.
He felt an odd presence as he saw a wisp like serpentine appearance that is seen gathering lost souls and bringing it to their masters. 'Odd. I wonder who could be its master.' He mused as he smelled something of graveyard soil.
He tilted his head to the side as an arrow was going to hit him, hitting a tree bark instead. He tilted his head again to avoid yet another arrow.
His ears perked at the stringing sound of a bow being pulled back. He moved his head to the attacker's direction and analyzed its appearance.
He was surprised to see a beautiful pale-skinned woman with long black hair often hanging tied into a low loose ponytail by a white ribbon with bangs hanging above over her forehead and had big, brown, doll-like eyes. She is wearing the traditional dress of a priestess except for the lack of the slit-shoulder seam.
"To think that a Priestess is hunting me." He remarked.
"Who or what are you?" She interrogated, putting on a defensive stance as she observed him.
"You can sense my power priestess. I am not human or demon so your purification will not work on me." He smiled gently. "I shall introduce myself. My name is Naruto Uzumaki. Pleased to make your acquaintance."
The woman before him kept trying to use her words to purify him as if he were a demon. Not to mention the eyes he had were unnatural for a human. And also, her arrows had no effect on him. "May I ask what you are?" She wondered.
Naruto rubbed his eyes a bit then answered. "Well, I suppose I could just spill the beans here and there. I am the god named Inari. Praised one of fertility, rice, agriculture, foxes, industry, and worldly success."
This revelation caused the woman's eyes to widen in shock then she hastily bowed and sputtered. "Lord Inari, please forgive my haste! Had I known beforehand, I would not have attacked you! I will accept any form of punishment you will deliver on me! Even send my soul to Hell for my slight against you!" She fired apology after apology at him.
"I can easily forgive this minor mistake as I'm aware that you had no prior knowledge to my existence yet." The woman looked upon at him. "Then again, I don't take my godly duties as seriously as more of my contemptuous and strict gods and 'colleagues' are. By the way, may I know your name?"
"Kikyo, my Lord." She meekly answered, head still bowed.
"Please, stop bowing already." Naruto asked, exasperated as the woman quickly snapped back to attention. "And you don't need to call me Inari, just Naruto will do."
"As you wish, Lord Naruto."
Naruto groaned, seeing as this was going to be the best he's get out of the situation. He did notice that the woman before him was fidgeting nervously and he made a small smile at that. "Kikyo, is it? How is it that a priestess like you end up in your condition?"
She explained her love life with a demon named Inuyasha, betrayal and death, resurrection and her incarnation by a girl named Kagome and a villain named Naraku. All details. Nothing left out. Naruto took all this in and mused. "Yes, Indeed. I have ascertained that more demons have been spawning more than ever and many human villages are divided and clueless amongst themselves. Naraku has been expanding his dark presence through underhanded tactics and trickery."
He paced around and said. "I'd like to travel a bit. I don't know what the 'plan' to 'save' this era is but we'll figure out on the way." He pointed a finger at Kikyo outside of his cassock. "I'd like you to follow me."
"By your command, Lord Naruto. How can I refuse?" She smiled at him, Naruto blushed a bit but hid it.
Naruto walked outside of the forest and Kikyo followed behind him.
