INTRO:
W: The magic that is human imagination has absolutely no limits. We can form ideas in instants, dreams in seconds, and eventually, they can become reality.
Boomstick: But the greatest example of imagination is in video games, especially if you wanna create your very own character!
W: Avatar, the Rookie soldier of the Resistance.
Boomstick: And Sir Hoodington, Skylands' very first Imaginator. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
W: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
AVATAR:
(World Map - Sonic Forces)
W: It was a time of hopelessness, fear, and dark armies on the rise. Dr Ivo Robotnik, aka Eggman, had finally done the impossible.
B: He created a badass soldier who managed to kick the ass of Sonic the Hedgehog, finally defeating him once and for all.
W: Without Sonic, the world quickly fell before Eggman's brilliance. Finally, his dream of an Eggman Empire had become a reality.
B: But just because Sonic was gone didn't mean the fight was over. The Resistance was formed, consisting of Sonic's friends. But even by their numbers, you know it wouldn't be enough when you had to fight an entire ARMY of giant robots.
W: Without Sonic though, most who looked up to him began to become afraid. Except for one…
The Wolf Avatar grits his teeth and runs into the action.
(Park Avenue - Sonic Forces)
B: The Avatar is a loyal Resistance soldier, and even though he's a beginner, he's got a shit ton of wisp weapons called Wispons! The Lightning Wispon acts as an electric whip, the Cube Wispon is a powerful hammer, the Asteroid Wispon attacks with clones, the Drill Wispon can burrow through the ground, the Hover Wispon can blow enemies away and allows for flight, and the Void Wisp sucks in enemies in a powerful black hole. There's also a White Wispon, but that only shoots basic lasers.
W: However, there is one Wispon the Avatar mostly prefers to use: The Burst Wispon. It acts as both a flamethrower, with flames hot enough to make robots explode, and when imbued with Red Wisp Color Power, it can produce combustive fire bursts powerful enough to send its user flying into the air. And if he wants to get up close and personal, the Avatar can fire a wrist-mounted grappling hook to swing around and and even deal damage a la Homing Attack. Plus, we're only looking at the default Wolf Avatar for this one.
B: Now if only you could make the character a guy in a red spider spandex…
W: The Avatar also managed to swipe a prototype of an interdimensional gemstone called the Phantom Ruby, which could only be triggered by the person that activated it. It's strong enough to cancel out other illusions, and even erase a fake sun!
B: But since teamwork makes the dream work, the Avatar is even stronger when fighting alongside Sonic, who was NOT dead despite the popular belief, but locked up in the Death Egg. I mean, he's already died once before. Damn you, Mephiles!
W: This technique, known as the Double Boost, can amplify the speed of both Sonic and the Avatar. It is SO powerful that it can even breach interdimensional barriers, such as Null Space, so imagine what can be done when this is amplified with Triple Boost, where the speed of Classic Sonic is added into the mix. It was strong enough to blow through the final form of the Phantom Death Egg Robot.
B: WHAT?! There's TWO of them now?! How the hell is there another Sonic?!
W: Well, this Sonic USED to be his past self, but now he's an alternate version of him...it's complicated.
B: However, despite learning a few tricks from MODERN Sonic, like the Spin Attack, Boost, high agility, and even growing strong enough to take on an army of robots, Death Egg Robot Sentinels, a colossal Death Crab, and even the super soldier Infinite, the Avatar still had a few weaknesses. For starters, he's kind of a pussycat. But NOT a cat.
W: This fear and trauma may have started when the Avatar witnessed his entire squad get wiped out by Infinite himself. But over time, he managed to overcome it. Still, he's not as fast as Sonic himself, and since we don't allow outside help, that means no Double or Triple Boost.
B: Yeah, that's just bullshit overkill! I mean, it can break DIMENSIONS! I don't wanna see the mess it makes when it charges into a person.
W: The Avatar DOES possess some skill of fighting ever since he joined the Resistance, and eventually gained enough courage to match his power. Even after the Resistance disbanded after the war, the Avatar left to pursue his own adventures, much like the hero before him. But no matter what happens, the Avatar is sure to never give up.
Sonic: See you later, buddy.
(Sonic and the Avatar part ways)
B: (sniffs) Rest in peace, Roger. You will be missed.
W: Boomstick, he's not dead.
B: Oh…
IMAGINATOR:
(Cradle of Creation - Skylanders Imaginators)
W: Countless aeons ago, before the Arkeyans and the Giants, before even the Darkness itself, there were the Ancients. These mystical beings used the ancient power of Mind Magic to create a perfect world and an endless paradise. This...was Skylands.
B: What?! Come on, Wiz! Did you SEE the end of Dawn of the Dragon?! That's TOTALLY Skylands! There's no way a bunch of brain aliens thought all that to life!
W: No no no, that's just a different timeline. THIS is how Skylands was REALLY made! All Spyro did then was piece the world back together. Partly…
B: Well, whatever the true reason, the Ancients, being really smart beings, got a really bright idea and said "Hey, this Mind Magic stuff seems pretty dangerous. We should probably just hide it somewhere so that no one can use it for evil". And GUESS what happened?!
W: Yep. After the Darkness' defeat, Kaos still remained in his old evil ways. He ultimately discovered Ming Magic and used it to create his own Skylanders, which he called Doomlanders.
B: And these guys were ridiculously powerful! They could take Spyro's fireball like it was nothing, strike Stealth Elf after anticipating where she'd pop up next, and even outnumber the 200+ Skylanders! These weren't the classic boss minions of the first game, this was an ARMY!
W: But however, when something is created, it also leaves behind a powerful crystal called Imaginite, which is rarer than even Traptanium. And once the Skylanders and Portal Masters discovered these, it wasn't long until they created an army to FIGHT an army. Enter...the Imaginators!
(Main Theme - Skylanders Imaginators)
B: This next generation had more than just elements. They also had ten weapon skills called Battle Classes! The Brawlers are hard hitters and powerful punchers. And they act like boxers because they NEVER use their legs. The Sorcerers harness the very magic of Skylands and unleash it through powerful wands. The Smashers are downright beasts, because they always like to smash EVERYTHING IN SIGHT! The Bowslingers are Robin Hood wannabes, complete with skills in archery that would make even William Tell jealous. The Swashbucklers wield twin blades, but at the heavy cost of legs. The Quickshot are rootin tootin sharpshooters who are a little too trigger happy. The Sentinels are acrobatic warriors who fight with double-ended staff weapons. The Ninjas are small and agile, but they only throw ninja stars. Come on, guys! Where's the smoke bombs?! Where's the katanas?! And where the HELL is your stomach?! But then there's my favorite class, the Bazookers. Why? Because they specialize in the one thing I love most besides beer: BLOWING SHIT UP!
W: However, we'll be looking at the very first Imaginator, Sir Hoodington, who specializes in the heroic Knight Class.
(Knight Theme - Skylanders Imaginators)
B: The Knight Class uses badass swords, but Hoody here uses the all-powerful Laserblade, which I'm sure can cut through pretty much everything. Plus, just LISTEN to that choir! EPIC!
W: Through the training of powerful teacher Skylanders called Senseis, Sir Hoodington was able to master his combat skills. The Duelist Style allows for quick and precise strikes, and the Gladiator allows for slow but strong swings, both having a jump attack, Duelist creating a wind shear and Gladiator a suction field.
B: And that's far from it! Sir Hoods-a-lot's Uppercutting Sword can knock enemies into the air, his Spinning Slash does just what you think and DOESN'T make him dizzy, the Mighty Cleave lets him charge up a powerful slam, and the Ground Stab creates an expanding shockwave. And then there's his Soul Gem ability, Excalibur Execution, where he holds his sword up high and yells "I HAVE THE POWER!", causing lightning to strike his sword and give him an extra boost in speed and power. Okay, he doesn't yell anything, but the lightning DOES hurt him.
W: Sir Hoodington is also of the Fire Element since he was made from a Fire Creation Crystal, thus applying him the same weaknesses and strengths of Wildfire and Hot Head. He is strong against Undead and Air foes, but is weaker against Water and Tech opponents.
B: But man, he makes up for it in these awesome abilities! He can run at super speed with Burning Dash, crossing two trails to make them explode, leave explosions behind with his Meteor Shower, summon spinning Tri Flames that shoot fireballs, and even generate a powerful explosion that also increases his damage output.
W: Hoodington has proven himself as a worthy Skylander. He's defeated Doomlanders thanks to being stronger against them, helped defeat both Kaos and the rogue Ancient Brain, and even teamed up with Crash Bandicoot.
B: And even though he was born recently, he already knows how to drive.
W: And even though many believed that the franchise was over then and there, there are rumors of a seventh game coming out just for Skylanders' ten-year anniversary. Let's hope this next adventure Hoodington takes is just as awesome as always.
Sir Hoodington is summoned.
Sir Hoodington: Can't stop my sword!
THE FIGHT:
W: Alright, the combatants are set! And we've run the data through all possibilities! Let's end this debate once and for all!
B: It's time for a DEATH BATTLLLEEEEE!
…
(Official OCs - Brandon Yates)
Sir Hoodington wanders through Calamity City and hears a strange sound.
Sir Hoodington: Huh?
The Avatar appears from a Phantom Ruby portal and lands in Skylands. After noticing Sir Hoodington, he readies his Wispon and shows a courageous face.
Sir Hoodington: Good! I was hoping for a fight!
He readies his Laserblade, and both charge at full speed.
DB Announcer: FIGHT!
The two clash and trade blows, with Hoodington blocking flames from the Burst Wispon. The Avatar then uses his grappling hook to yank the weapon out of the Imaginator's grasp.
Sir Hoodington: Very well, then! Meteor Shower!
Seeing the meteors rain down, the Avatar grunts as he dodges them. He sees a massive one headed right for him and activates the Color Power in his Wispon.
Colors Announcer: BURST!
The Avatar rockets upwards from the propulsion of the downwards blast, avoiding the meteor. However, Sir Hoodington, having regained his sword, counters.
Sir Hoodington: Uppercut!
He slashes at the Avatar, making him yell and tumble back. Getting back up, the Avatar switches weapons to a Lightning Wispon.
Sir Hoodington: What's this?
Colors Announcer: LIGHTNING!
The Avatar activates his lightning whip and begins to strike Sir Hoodington, stunning him with fast strikes before switching to his Cube Wispon and delivering a heavy blow.
Sir Hoodington: A Smasher, huh? Alright, then!
Hoodington charges with Gladiator strikes, but the Avatar easily dodges them and knocks Hoodington back with a Hover Wispon, then creates close with the Asteroid Wispon. Switching to Duelist mode, Hoodington easily strikes down the clones and finishes them off with a jumping slam.
Sir Hoodington: Mighty Cleave!
The real Avatar switches to his Drill Wispon and charges forward, drill clashing against blade.
Sir Hoodington: I can't give up! I am a righteous hero!
Still, the Avatar knocks him back and performs several Wire Attacks before throwing Sir Hoodington into a nearby building, then swinging up to a higher elevation. When Hoodington recovers, the Avatar fires his Void Wispon, trapping Sir Hoodington in a black hole. The Avatar then uses the Void Wispon to teleport in close and switches to a White Wispon. He fires at Hoodington, who deflects them with his sword before casting Explosion to break free of the Black Hole. Sir Hoodington then uses all of his special Elemental Moves and Secret Techniques to damage the Avatar.
Sir Hoodington: Well fought, friend! But this is the strongest move I've got! (Raises his sword high) Excalibur!
Lightning strikes the Laserblade, but Hoodington flinches from the pain. Still, he fights through it.
Sir Hoodington: EXECUTION!
Hoodington gains matching speed and power to match the Avatar, and even manages to deal a few critical hits.
Sir Hoodington: This is the end, worthy opponent! But YOU are finished!
Before Hoodington can land a fatal blow, the Avatar whips out his trump card: The Phantom Ruby prototype. He activates it, and it creates an illusion of Doomlander Replicas.
Sir Hoodington: What?! What is this? I shall not fall for such petty illusions!
However, a Smasher Doomlander is able to land a solid hit. This prompts Sir Hoodington to strike back against the replicas. However, this ultimately serves as a distraction, as the Avatar also creates an illusion of a sun the size of a ball. He throws it at Sir Hoodington.
Avatar: HAAAA!
Hoodington lets out a cry of defeat when the sun hits him, and he explodes into Imaginite. One crystal rolls towards the Avatar, who picks it up.
Avatar: Hmph.
The Avatar takes the Imaginite crystal and runs off.
THE AFTERMATH:
DB Announcer: KO!
B: Don't worry, a new Portal Master will just imagine him back to life. At least, I think that's how it works.
W: Despite Sir Hoodington's incredible training from the Senseis, his immense level surpassing the normal 20, and his sheer power, he was still limited to just one of each element and battle class, while the Avatar could select from a massive variety of Wispons.
B: Yeah, both of them never give up, but the Avatar had something the Imaginator didn't: Illusion and Reality-Warping powers!
W: Ultimately, the Phantom Ruby prototype proved to be the endgame for Hoodington, as he could be physically hurt by the replicas, and ultimately, the small sun. He could also be hurt by his own ultimate attack, and the Avatar clearly outclassed him in speed.
B: Well, it looks like Sir Hoodington got Fire-d and was lost to the Knight.
W: The winner is the Avatar.
