I love you but this is more important

Kakashi had recently arrived from a two week mission when he was summoned to the Hokage.

Puzzled, he headed straight for the village leader. He just hoped the meeting was short to go straight to his boyfriend's apartment. Iruka was a strange ninja, but he loved him.

Arriving at the office, he saw his Hokage dejected, thoughtful, while the air around him had a strange and oppressive muteness.

"Aaah, Kakashi. I see my message got to you quickly."

"Yes, Hokage-sama. I'm at your service."

"Very good. Kakashi, I have a very important mission for you. T & I discovered that there is a spy inside the village but they don't know who he is or for which affiliation or village this informant, secret agent, spy, traitor or whatever you decide to call him works."

"We don't know how deeply this spy is installed in our village, but it is imperative that you find him as soon as possible. It is a significant risk to our internal security and we cannot allow it. And one last thing, don't tell anyone about this mission, we don't want our spy to find out that we are investigating him."

"Understood, Hokage-sama. I will do my job to the best of my ability, and if you'll excuse me, I proceed to withdraw."

Kakashi, seeing the Hokage's acceptance of him with a slight nod, left the place with a few leaves scattered on the ground.

Iruka was humming as he tried to cook on his day off but he smiled when he felt Kakashi's chakra.

"Kakashi! You made it! How did your mission go?"

"Love, it was nothing interesting. I was only a guard because I was a rich man, nothing more. Even though I missed you."

And drawing the slightly younger man into a hug, he kissed him with all the love he had to give.

"I missed you, Kakashi, you don't know how much. And don't you have surprise missions? I would like to spend these rare days off that we both have together."

And the ninja he copied felt so much love, understanding and loyalty that he, obviating the direct orders of the Hokage and told the sensei of the academy about the mission.

Furthermore, since he knew that Iruka was a well-known man in the village, he assumed that telling Iruka would actually be an aid in finding the spy.

"The truth is that Hokage-sama entrusted me with a mission within the village. T & I discovered that there is a spy who is compromising the internal security of the village and I was tasked with finding the traitor."

And the silver-haired man, so blinded by his love was that he didn't see the dangerous gleam in Iruka's eyes.

"But Kakashi, you are here and now. I missed you so much these two weeks, you don't know how much."

He said, while his hand roamed the body of the other trying to remove the hindrance that prevented from touching skin to skin.

"Why don't we just go to my room and start enjoying our time together?"

And without further ado, they both went to Iruka's room to show their love and lust for each other.

For Kakashi, this was nothing more than making love. Feeling passion mixed with pleasure so deeply was a feeling he had never felt before. The sensation of slight tickling on his lips every time he kissed the other, the electricity between skin-to-skin contact or his constantly racing heart was something Kakashi always enjoyed and that surprised him each time.

However, he felt that this time it was different. There was a growing numbness that prevented him from moving his body.

Scared, he tried to warn Iruka about a possible enemy but when he saw what he thought was the love of his life, with a cruel smile on his face, he knew something was wrong.

"Oh Kakashi, I'm sorry this ended like this, but it was my duty."

"You see, I'm the traitor of this cursed village. It is I who is working for other people."

"Kakashi, you don't know how sorry I am. I know that Konoha treated you in the worst way possible, he hurt you worse than what they did to me, but I have no choice."

"I must take revenge for those who, promising my family protection, made them sacrifice themselves to leave me as one more bloody orphan and leave me with a cruel snake in my genin times."

"My bosses and I have a dream, a dream of no more wars and world peace, but for that to happen, the ninja villages must disappear."

"Kakashi, this is the only time I ask you. Will you join me and others' dream of long-awaited peace?

"N-no" Kakashi said, with an effort and a gnawing pain. "It's not the w-way. Many w-will die."

"Oh, Kakashi. I wish you hadn't said that. You know what, I was really falling in love, but I knew you had no intention of saving this cursed world anymore. I must kill you, but I will be compassionate, it won't hurt. Goodbye my love."

The next day, the ANBU found Kakashi dead hours ago in a bed that was not his and whose owner was missing.

End.
