A/N: Hello, this is my first time posting a Diakko fanfic. I finished watching "Little Witch Academia," which just reminded me of how much I loved Diana and Akko together, so I came up with this idea for a fanfic. It's similar to a Tokyo Mew Mew fanfic I wrote earlier this year, but as of now, I don't plan on this fic being as...sensual as that one.

We'll see where this takes me.

I hope you guys enjoy it!

Chapter 1: Summer Vacation Time!

"Well, here we are," Diana said, stepping out of her limo.

Akko stepped out right behind her. Akko yawned as she stretched out towards the sky. "Talk about a long car ride," she complained. "I know you said this place was really out-of-the-way, but I didn't think it was this out-of-the-way."

"Heaven forbid you come here in anything besides a fancy, comfortable limo," Diana replied. "My fancy limo."

The two had just been on a long drive to a beach resort that Diana had mentioned to Akko a few days ago.

A FEW DAYS AGO…

The bell tolled at Luna Nova Magical Academy. The first semester of the school year had just concluded and classes were out for the summer! The students roamed the halls, happily discussing with each other their plans for the upcoming summer holiday.

But there was one student in particular who was instead cooped up in her dorm room.

Akko lied face-down in her bed with her face buried deep in her pillow. She was resting after an incredibly long day of back-to-back exams. It was no secret to just about anyone at the school that Akko…wasn't exactly the greatest student at Luna Nova. Constantly struggling to perform even the most basic spells and failing to keep up with the other students, Akko had spent the past few weeks working herself to near-death, studying and practicing magic. She really hoped that her efforts had paid off.

She groaned as she felt absolutely exhausted. She lifted her head up slightly. "Whose bright idea was it to put the History of Magic exam and the Magic Linguistics exam and the Magic law exam on the same day?!" she complained, loudly.

She then plopped her head back down into her pillow and resumed her silent brooding. She was the only one in the room as her friends, Lotte and Sucy, had both left to take care of their own personal errands.

Akko then turned to face the ceiling. She took a deep breath. "Well, there's nothing else I can do now," she said to herself. "No use in getting worked up about it."

She jumped out of her bed and threw her hands up in the air. Just like that, Akko was back to her usual, energetic self. "Yeah, that's right!" she said, proudly. "It's all over now! Nothing left to do but relax and have some fun! Because it's summer vacation time!"

Akko then began thinking of all the fun things she, Sucy, and Lotte were going to do together.

Just then, she heard a knock at her door, interrupting her thoughts. "Who could that be?" she asked.

Akko quickly walked over to the door. When she opened the door, she was surprised to see that it was Diana on the other side. "Diana?" she asked.

"Ah good, you're here," replied Diana. "I was wondering why I couldn't find you anywhere."

"You were looking for me?" Akko asked, surprised.

"Yes. I…wanted to have a word with you."

"A word?" Akko asked. "About what? Did I do something wrong?"

"No, I just…want to talk to you about something."

"If this is about classes, I'm really not in the…"

Before Akko could finish, Diana barged right in and walked right past her. Akko was confused as to what was going on. It wasn't like Diana to track her down so that they could talk privately. She hadn't the faintest clue what Diana needed to talk about.

Akko closed the door behind them. "So, what did you want to talk about?" she asked, curiously.

Diana didn't respond. She was too distracted by the disheveled appearance of one of the beds. "Is this your bed?" she asked, indignantly.

"Y-yes?" answered Akko.

Diana sighed as she flicked her wand towards Akko's bed. Suddenly, the bedsheets began folding themselves neatly and the pillows were fluffed and put back in their proper places. "Couldn't even bother to straighten the place up a bit?" she scoffed.

"Excuse me, I didn't know you were coming!" Akko said, pouting. "Now do you have something to talk about, or are you just here to clean our room?"

Diana let out a small cough. "You're right," she said, "I do have something to discuss with you."

Diana then sat down in one of the three chairs that were lined up along the desk. She then invited Akko to sit down, which she did, sitting in the chair next to hers. "So…the summer holiday is upon us," she began.

"I know! Aren't you excited?!" Akko asked, happily.

"I'm guessing you have a few activities planned?" asked Diana.

"You bet!" Akko said, excitedly pumping her fists. "Me and my friends are going to do all sorts of fun stuff! We're going to do some shopping in town, go to the nightfall summer meetup, maybe we'll shoot off some fireworks, Sucy says she wanted to go to this one place to hunt for some magic mushrooms but I don't know about that one…"

Diana stood there with her arms crossed as she continued listening to the amazingly long list of things Akko wanted to do for her summer break. "Interesting," interrupted Diana, "you have so much planned and yet not one of those is keeping up on your studies."

"Uhhh…w-well…" Akko stammered, nervously. "I mean, hey! It's summer vacation, right? It's the time to destress and give yourself a break from all of the studying and taking exams!"

"Uh-huh," Diana replied. "And how well have you been doing in class?"

"Not that's it any of your business, but I've been doing great!" boasted Akko. "I've been training and practicing nonstop! I know for sure that I passed today's exams with flying colors!"

"Flying colors, you say?" asked Diana. "Are you sure about that?"

"Positive!' Akko replied, quickly.

Diana leaned in closer, raising her eyebrow at Akko's assertion. Akko grew nervous as she stared directly into her eyes. "You're really that sure?" she asked, doubtfully.

Akko's attempt at being prideful faltered quickly, as she could only rub the back of her neck nervously. "Okay…maybe I didn't pass with flying colors," she admitted. "But I'm sure I passed the exams either way no problem…mostly….maybe…"

Diana sighed. "And you think that means you can just slack off without a care in the world?" she scolded.

Akko pouted. She always hated whenever Diana got on her case about school, especially with her high-and-mighty tone of voice. "Alright then, what are you going to do for summer break?" Akko asked, indignantly.

"I'm glad you asked," Diana replied. "This summer, I plan on going to the beach."

"The beach?" Akko asked. "There's a beach around here?"

"It's a resort," clarified Diana. "A special kind of resort."

"What? Like a rich person beach?" Akko asked, "where the waiters serve you caviar and all the people look like swimsuit models."

"…sure…something like that," Diana said, pausing in between sentences.

"Wait a minute," Akko said, angrily, "how can you tell me not to slack off on our summer break when you're the one going to the beach?!"

"Don't misunderstand," protested Diana, "I'm not taking a field trip. This is more of a…study vacation for me. I'm going to this place more to practice my spells than anything else."

"Oh yeah, sure," Akko said, doubtfully. "You're totally going just for magic practice. Pretty convenient excuse, if you ask me."

"But I am going to practice my magic," said Diana. "And that's why I was looking for you!"

Akko was a bit confused. "What do you mean?" she asked, curiously.

"Well…Akko," Diana said, "I was wondering if…if you would…"

"If I would what?" Akko asked.

Akko was quite surprised to see Diana going from her usual, stuck-up self to acting a little anxious. She still had her trademark straight face, but she rubbed her elbows nervously and she had a hard time making eye contact. She found her change in behavior very jarring.

"Akko, I was wondering," repeated Diana, "if you would…come with me."

"Wait, what?" Akko asked.

"That's right," Diana said, slowly returning to her normal self. "I want you to…accompany me…on this next visit…to the beach."

Akko jumped in her chair, taken aback by Diana's sudden invite. "Really?! You want us to come with you to this rich person beach?!" she asked, shocked.

"No, not you as in you and your friends," clarified Diana. "I meant you as in…you. Only you. It'll just be you and me."

Akko was so surprised, she nearly fell back in her chair, much to Diana's dismay. "Must you react so dramatically?" Diana asked, annoyed.

"B-B-But," stammered Akko. "but if it's just us two, why would you invite me of all people?"

"I thought that…maybe you would benefit from a study vacation to this place," Diana said, snobbishly. "Who knows, maybe a study vacation will do you some good."

Akko went from shocked to annoyed in a flash. "Oh, so that's it?" she asked, offended. "You're just trying to turn my summer into school? I think I'll pass. If I wanted to spend my summer studying, I might as well do it here."

Diana then took a deep breath. "Alright, fine! The truth is," she began, "I just…don't be want to be lonely."

"You? Lonely?" Akko asked.

"I've always gone to this place by myself," continued Diana, "but this time…I want someone to…keep me company."

"But, why invite me?" asked Akko. "Why not Hanna? Or Barbara?"

"Oh goodness, no!" Diana said, horrified. "Those two wouldn't approve at all!"

"Approve?"

Diana, realizing that she was beginning to act a bit frantic, quickly settled down and recomposed herself. "I mean…those two already have plans of their own," said Diana.

"They do?" Akko asked.

"Yes, and I didn't know who else to invite…apart from you."

Akko scratched her head, contemplating on what to do. "I don't know…" she murmured.

Diana let out a frustrated sigh. She then stood up from her seat. "Look, if you don't want to come, that's fine," she said, sternly. "Sorry to bother you."

"But, wait!"

But Diana didn't listen. She began making her way out of the dorm. She managed to crack open the door an inch before Akko quickly slammed it closed, preventing her from leaving. "Let me go," demanded Diana.

Akko took a deep breath. "I'm sorry," Akko said, feeling guilty about upsetting Diana. "It's just that you never ever invite me to places like this, especially if it's only the two of us. It's just surprising, that's all."

"Yes…I am aware of that," admitted Diana, "but I really do want to go to this resort…and I don't know who else to turn to."

Akko then grabbed Diana's hands, much to her surprise. "Not to worry!" she said, confidently, "if this trip means that much to you, then you can count on me!"

"So…you'll go then?" asked Diana.

"If you really need me that bad, then I'll happily go with you to the beach!" answered Akko. "And besides, I'm curious to see why you want to go to this beach so badly!"

Diana couldn't help but smile a bit. Of course, she made sure to restrain herself a bit and make it look like a cocky smile. "Good, I'm glad to hear," said Diana. "We leave in a few days."

"A few days? I better start packing my things!" replied Akko, happily. "I might have to buy a new swimsuit! If we're going to a rich person beach, I don't want to stand out too much by looking too much like a commoner."

"Oh, you won't need a swimsuit," Diana replied.

Diana began blushing as she realized what she had just said. "What I mean is…t-these people won't care what kind of swimsuit you're wearing," she said.

But Akko still had her doubts. "Are you sure?" she asked.

"I'm…pretty sure they won't care," confirmed Diana.

Diana was about to exit the dorm, but she stopped as she remembered something important to tell Akko. "Ah yes, one more thing!" she said. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about our trip."

"But why not?" asked Akko.

"Well, because…" began Diana.

There was a brief pause as Diana thought of what to say next. "B-because…if the other witches knew about this place, then everyone will want to go," she explained, "and this resort is a bit…secretive. They'd rather not attract too much attention."

"That's…strange," replied Akko.

"Just promise me that you won't tell anybody about where we are going!" snapped Diana.

"Okay, I promise!" Akko said, hastily.

"I'm serious!"

"I won't tell anybody! I swear!"

"Good," Diana said, calmly. "I'll see you in a few days. And don't forget to pack your wand."

Diana then swung the door open…and was immediately greeted by the sight of Lotte and Sucy. Lotte had her hand up to turn the doorknob while Sucy had her hands full with an assortment of different mushrooms she happened to have found. Diana gulped upon seeing them. They both stared at her.

"Diana?" Lotte asked.

"What are you doing here?" Sucy asked, in her low, monotone voice.

Diana, in an effort to keep up appearances, merely flipped her hair over her shoulders. "I was just making sure that Akko is going to apply herself during summer vacation," she said. "See to it that she keeps up with her studies. Now, if you'll excuse me."

Diana then made her way past Lotte and Sucy. "That's odd," Sucy said, as they watched Diana walk away.

They then turned to Akko, who was acting a bit nervous. "What was Diana doing in our dorm?" Lotte asked, kindly.

"I…I…" stammered Akko.

Akko, realizing that she had to come up with something that wasn't the truth, crossed her arms angrily and pouted. "Lousy Diana," she complained. "Who does she think she is?! She just barges in me and tells me that I have no right to be relaxing during summer vacation! Whatever. She's not the boss of me."

Lotte and Sucy only looked at each other. They still felt that something was off.

Diana continued walking down the empty halls of Luna Nova, on her way to her own dorm where she knew Hanna and Barbara were probably waiting for her.

Along the way, she let out a sigh of relief and dropped her serious demeanor. "Alright, that's done and over with," she said. "No turning back now."

She then stopped in her tracks and thought back to what she had just told Akko.

More importantly, she thought about what she didn't tell Akko that she probably should have. "Maybe I should have told her that this beach resort is a…"

Before she could finish her sentence, Diana shook her head. "No! It'll be fine!" she said to herself. "Besides, if anyone can handle this, it's her. I hope."
