Hello and welcome to the very first chapter of an original story I'm working on called Divine Voyage. I MIGHT change the title later on, but anyways, I hope you enjoy it!

Prologue

This is the beginning of a tale about a 19 year old girl named Skarlet Sarenova.

She had bright red hair and eyes, along with a scar on her left cheek, and lived in a large city known as Teratora, a city that was presumed to be built by the gods themselves in order to keep their mortals that they've created safe.

However that's all lost history now, and people just think that's an excuse as to how this massive city was built.

Skarlet was walking down the streets of the city on her way to work, thinking to herself, "Why does everyday have to be so goddamn boring?! I just wish at least SOME excitement will happen in my life!"

Sooner or later she will learn to be careful what she wished for, but she went off to work anyways, did her job which was sharpening blades at a blacksmith's shop, and she got paid for a job well done.

However on her way back home, she heard someone screaming, saying something about bandits planning on raiding the city, and they were currently inside an abandoned building not too far from where Skarlet was.

However Skarlet looked around and saw everyone else ignoring this man, thinking he was crazy or something.

This led Skarlet to quickly go back to work and grab her two swords she just finished sharpening but hadn't handed in to her boss just yet, and ran over to that house the stranger spoke of.

Once she made it to the abandoned house, she sensed a strange presence within the house, but it didn't feel like anything normal at all, she took a peek in through the window, and spotted the bandit gang that the stranger spoke of, and saw that one of them, the largest of them all had a large iron club.

Skarlet gulped down her fear and told herself quietly, "If I don't take these guys down...then they'll just attack the city and actually cause some damage before a real hero can stop them...I HAVE to do this!"

Skarlet tried to take a sneaky route into the house, and at first it was going well, until she stepped on a creaky floorboard and alerted the whole bandit gang to her presence.

Every single one of the bandits looked Skarlet's way and then they stood up and smirked at Skarlet as the big one with the club said, "Well well well. Looks like we have quite a nosy neighbour. Didn't your parents ever teach you not to go into people's homes without knocking first? Or at least to not eavesdrop on strangers?"

Skarlet gasped in some fear, she didn't know what to do, but she managed to say, "W-Well, my dad vanished before I was even born, but my mother did tell me this yeah..."

The whole bandit gang howled with laughter before the big one said, "Dumbass do you really think I fucking care about your past? It was a rhetorical question, I just wanna squash you into paste and continue on with my plans."

Skarlet life flashed before her eyes once she heard that line from the bandit leader, but while this happened she ended up gripping her swords more tightly, like she was getting ready to fight.

The bandits all took this as a threat, and decided to finally attack her now, however as the lackey bandits approached Skarlet, she ended up slashing a couple of their heads off, blood flying everywhere, before she spun around and ducked to dodge a swing of a blade, as she impaled another bandit with one blade and then slicing the other bandit behind them with her other sword and then throwing the corpse onto that previous bandit she sliced.

This ended up leaving just the leader left, as he growled furiously at Skarlet before gripping his club and viciously swinging it at Skarlet, as she just barely ducked under the large club, feeling the breeze of it as it passed by, but once Skarlet stood back up, she saw that the bandit was continuing his momentum with his strike and was spinning back around for a second strike, so she was forced to block this strike with both blades.

Once the attack made impact though, both of the blades shattered and the shards of the blades sliced up Skarlet's skin badly, leaving deep gashes in her arms and neck.

That's when the bandit shouted, "IT'S OVER!!!!!", and then swung his club down onto her with all of his might.

Skarlet raised both arms to block this too, which when the club made impact with her arms, it shattered her arm bones, however the force of the blow also broke the floorboards underneath Skarlet as she fell down a super deep, and seemingly bottomless hole, which would definitely kill any normal person.

The bandit looked down that hole he smashed Skarlet into, and then laughed a little bit and said, "You got what's coming to you, small fry."

End of The Prologue

Well that was the end of this first chapter, sorry it's so short but I felt like this would be a good ending to the chapter. Especially since what I've got planned will be pretty epic. So I guess just think of this as a little prologue. See ya next chapter!
