"Brandt! Get your ass out here!" Ethan yells and Clint lets out an exasperated sigh before walking into the living room of the apartment the IMF team has been staying in for the past few months. "Hey man. Alright guys," Ethan adresses the assembled team. "We've got a new trainee coming to stay with us for two months and she should be here any minute. Jane, try and play nice; Benji, try not to be too weird; Brandt, try not to mope around too much. Her name is Briar Mitchel, she's nineteen, and-" there was a knock on the door-"she's here." Ethan opens the door to reveal a girl that Clint would recognize anywhere. Her long, dirty blonde hair, her round cheeks, button nose, and full lips formed in a soft smile, those green eyes that belonged to both of the most important people in Clint's life. His wife and his daughter.

"Hi, I'm Briar. You must be Agent Hunt?" the girl says.

"Yes." Ethan responds. "It's nice to meet you Ms. Mitchel. This is Benji, Jane, and William." Briar gives a shy wave.

"Hi. It's nice to meet you all." She says softly.

"Well." Ethan says, "It's quite late so, Jane, why don't you show Briar to her room"

"Sure." Jane says putting a hand on Briar's back to lead her down the hall. As they leave, Briar catches Clint's eye and they share a soft smile. As soon as they get to her room, Jane closes the door.

"Eyes off Brandt." the older woman says.

"Pardon?" Briar asks, setting her duffel bag down on the bed.

"He's mine." Jane elaborates.

"Are you all, like, dating or something?" Briar asks. "Because it really doesn't look like it."

"Okay honey." Jane says, "Let's get something straight. You're our trainee. So don't pull all of that 'reading body language' crap on me. He's going to be mine soon, so don't try and take him and don't try and cross me."

With that, Jane turns and leaves the room with Briar staring after her.

"Wow." she whispers to herself in Russian. "Wonder how she'll react when she learns he's married with a kid."

"So, what do you all think of her?" Benji asked as the original four members of the team sat around the kitchen.

Ethan's response was that he wanted to see her in training before he said anything. Jane admitted that she didn't like her much. "Why?" Brandt asked, oddly defensive.

"She's just, too perfect." Jane says

"You don't even know her yet." Will retorts.

"Why are you so defensive?" Hunt asks him.

"I like giving people the benefit of the doubt." Will replied. "We need to see her in training, let's go to bed so that we're well rested tomorrow."

In truth, Clint just wanted everyone to go away so that he could talk to his daughter. So, once he was certain that everyone was in their own rooms and out of earshot, he slipped into her room to find her on her bed, reading. "Hey sweetheart." he whispered as he sat down next to her.

"Hi daddy." she whispered back as he wrapped her in a hug.

"What are you doing here Ekaterina?" he asked as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. Clint's daughter's name was not Briar, it was Ekaterina. Clint and Natasha had chosen the name for its Russian meaning. Pure. After living a life full of red and death and pain, their baby was their clean slate. She was pure.

"I missed you."

"I missed to too baby girl, but this is a bit drastic, isn't it?" he asked, a little worried.

"I just missed you." she murmured.

When she was only three, Ekaterina had been kidnapped by the Red Room and left Clint and Natasha devastated. She had been held and trained like Natasha for five years until she was eight when, finally, S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to take down the Red Room. Clint had been the first to reach his daughter and as much as Ekaterina adored her mother and could never live without her, she shared a special bond with her father and having him around always improved her mental health.

"Jane wants to jump your bones." She informs him with slight amusement.

"She what?" Clint asks, giving his daughter a look she can't help but laugh at. Clint can't help but smile at the mischievous glint in her emerald eyes and the smirk playing across her lips that looks just like the one he always sees on her mother's face after a perfect mission.

"She wants you to fuck her brains out; rearrange her insides; blow her back out." at Clint's still confused face, she continues, "She wants to have sex with you dad, really badly. It's kinda sad. She's gonna be pissed when she finds out you're married."

"Ekaterina," Clint states, "these are not the kinds of things you should be worrying about at sixteen."

"I know dad. I just like to tease you." She replies with a yawn.

"Have you been sleeping?" he asks her as she leans against his shoulder, obviously tired. She shrugs her shoulders, sighing as Clint pulls her against him and kisses her forehead again. "Get some sleep принцесса. You've got a big day tomorrow."

"I could take them all in my sleep." she says, sounding just like her mother as she falls asleep in Clint's arms.
