INTRO:
W: Despite their great journeys and legendary tales, not ALL heroes have happy endings. Sometimes, they are seduced and corrupted by evil, becoming outright villains and betraying their closest friends.
B: Man, don't you just hate it when that happens? I mean, just LOOK at these poor guys! It's like Two-Face said: "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain".
W: Anakin Skywalker, the prophesied Chosen One and later, the Dark Lord of the Sith.
B: And Terra, the former Keyblade Master-in-training. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
W: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
ANAKIN SKYWALKER:
(Anakin's Theme - Star Wars)
W: Before he was a Dark Lord of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker was an innocent child sold to slavery on the harsh desert planet of Tatooine.
Boomstick: Anakin was a prodigy mechanic, a prodigy Podracer, and a prodigy Jedi! So I'd say the junk dealer who bought him got a pretty sweet deal. Y'know, apart from the whole... "ownership of people" thing...then Liam Neeson showed up and measured his power level to find out that this kid was the Chosen One, destined to do something great that would bring balance to the all-powerful Force. Whatever the f**k that means!
(Redemption - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed)
W: Freed from slavery and trained under Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin grew into an extremely powerful Jedi, capable of lifting starships and crushing buildings with just his mind. He quickly rose through the Jedi ranks to the very top, and led the legendary 501st Legion in the galaxy-wide Clone Wars.
B: He also grew into a really arrogant and whiny douche!
Anakin: It's all Obi-Wan's fault! He's holding me back!
W: Naturally curious to an extreme, the vast potential of the Force was intoxicating to Anakin. Unable to accept loss and pain, Anakin sought new powers to "fix" his problems. After a premonition of his pregnant wife's death, he decided he had no choice but to turn to the Dark Side of the Force for answers.
Darth Sidious: Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth...Vader.
(Anakin's Dark Deeds - Star Wars: Episode III)
B: Despite being trained in the Jedi's pacifism, Anakin learned that he was really freaking good at killing people, and murdered nearly the entire Jedi Order. His punishment? A tearful break-up with his old master, and a leisurely dip in a pool of lava.
(Main Theme - Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
W: But in between his time as a slave and his time as Darth Vader, Anakin was a proud and respected leader in the Clone Wars. Even though his first battle with Count Dooku literally cost him a hand, he soon became the master of Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano.
B: He also got a scar from a vicious fight with Dooku's secret apprentice Asajj Ventress, as well as a serious case of foreshadowing. Maybe that's where he got the idea to train Galen Marek later on!
W: Anakin is a master of Form V lightsaber combat, both the Shien and Djem So versions, and even took part in a lot of major battles, such as those on Christophsis, Teth, The Malevolence, Maridun, Ryloth, Felucia, Naboo, Geonosis, Kamino, Mortis, Horain, Retta, Mon Cala, Umbara, and a bunch of other planets, all while keeping the marriage between him and Padme Amidala a secret, as they would both lose their respective duties as Jedi and Senator if they were found out. He's also adept in Form IV, able to deflect blaster fire with ease, and he can wield two lightsabers with Jar'Kai. And being a Jedi, he has incredible control over his Force powers.
B: Anakin has fought wild creatures as well. He tamed a Reek in a Geonosian arena, slaughtered his way through Tuskan Raiders, and even fought the Zillo Beast, whose scales are lightsaber-proof! But he's had his downsides too. He caught a glimpse of his future from The Son (but later erased by The Father), his Padawan ditched him and the Jedi Order, he was captured aboard the planet Florrum, and he even got zapped by Dooku's lightning. Man, no wonder he's so whiny! And why he became evil! Well, revenge is sweet because he finally got to kill Dooku by order of Palpatine.
Palpatine: Do it.
W: However, it wasn't the Jedi way to kill, and Anakin knew this. So this should have been a sign he was slipping.
B: But not even the Jedi Council bothered to listen. No wonder they got assassinated! And these guys could sense stuff with the Force! You think they'd see it coming!
(The Force - Star Wars)
W: A few did, actually. Still, Anakin's deeds would only worsen as Vader.
B: Yeah! He killed a bunch of people! Even...himself?
W: Well, it's true MENTALLY, but...it's complicated. Anyway, it turns out that Qui-Gon never lied about the prophecy of the Chosen One. Anakin WOULD indeed bring balance to the Force. Just not during his time as a Jedi.
B: Because surprise! Padme gave birth to two kids! Before she died. But Daddy's boy Luke was able to convince Anakin that this didn't have to be the path he walked, and Annie ultimately fulfilled his destiny by sacrificing himself to kill the Emperor...Sort of, cause Rey ultimately finished it.
W: His redemption well earned, Anakin could now become one with the Force in peace. Still, despite all of the evil he had done as Vader, his courageous acts as Anakin Skywalker would prove that one man could indeed change the galaxy.
Holding one of Ventress' lightsabers in his hand, Anakin yells in the aftermath of a duel with her.
TERRA:
(Simple and Clean - Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep)
W: Once upon a time, within the Land of Departure, there were three friends training under Master Eraqus to become Keyblade Masters: Aqua, Ventus, and Terra.
B: And to become a Keyblade Master, you have your work cut out for you. You gotta take the Mark of Mastery once you come of age. So, Terra and Aqua took it together. But then things went horribly wrong in the first round when the Balls of Light became infused with darkness, making Ventus intervene to help defeat them.
W: Still, Eraqus stated that the show must go on, and had Terra and Aqua duel each other in the second round.
B: But Terra lost that fight since he couldn't control the darkness in his heart, so only Aqua became a Keyblade Master. And Terra was shocked that there was even darkness in the first place, and he wouldn't have a chance of becoming a Keyblade Master.
W: Later that day, Terra was approached by a man called Xehanort, who told him that despite the darkness being in his heart, it doesn't mean that it would be a problem. The darkness could only be channeled and not destroyed, which renewed Terra's hopes of achieving his dream.
B: But what he DIDN'T know was that it was Xehanort himself that sabotaged the exam in the FIRST place!
(Dark Domination - Kingdom Hearts 3)
W: So naturally, when the Unversed sprung up and Xehanort vanished, Terra was sent out to destroy them and find Xehanort. During his quest, he met iconic Disney characters, but ended up attracting the attention of many villains, who gave them Xehanort's whereabouts in exchange for their own dark agendas. Terra believed that Xehanort was after the Seven Princesses of Heart, maidens whose hearts were devoid of darkness, and believed that Xehanort would be drawn out if he strengthened the light in their hearts. He also had Aqua help him out in this, as she was sent by Eraqus to spy on him and make sure he didn't fall to darkness.
B: When Terra learned of this, he was kinda upset. Upon learning of his master's mistrust, Terra believed that the only one he COULD trust now was Xehanort. And when he found the old man captured by Braig, he used his anger to defeat him, but lost control once again. Or so he thought.
W: Xehanort told Terra that the darkness wasn't controlling him. Instead, HE was controlling IT. And thus, he offered Terra a place at his side as his apprentice. Naturally, Terra eventually accepted.
B: But Terra was aware of the consequences and what his friends would say. So, he chose a boy called Riku to be his successor. Yeah, I'm sure the Mickey Mouse fan won't be important anytime soon…
W: However, Terra soon learned that Ventus heard about what happened to him, and was going to tell Eraqus about it. So, Terra saved Ventus from a fatal attack from Eraqus and defeated his old master, but not without thoughts of consequence.
B; But then Xehanort showed up and killed the man in cold blood. His true intentions exposed, he brought Terra to the Keyblade Graveyard, but he was reasoned by his friends. So, donning his Keyblade Armor, Terra began to battle Xehanort, but after Ventus' darkness took the form of Vanitas and almost killed Aqua, Terra once again tapped into his own darkness to weaken the old man.
W: All according to Xehanort's plan to forge the X-Blade.
B: What?! All that for a simple Keyblade?! Now that's just stupid.
W: No no, the EX Blade. As in the letter X. But it's said as key, but...look, it's complicated. What matters is that the X-Blade can unlock and control Kingdom Hearts itself, which is a source of great power and wisdom AND the heart of everything.
B: And by unlocking his own heart, Xehanort chose the perfect vessel to replace his dying body: A younger and stronger body that would help him see what lay beyond the Keyblade War.
W: Terra tried to resist being possessed thanks to his Keyblade Armor, but it was ultimately futile. Terra had fully succumbed to darkness, being reborn as Terra-Xehanort.
B: But his true mind, thoughts, and wishes were all locked up within Terra's old armor, which became the Lingering Will, and sought to reclaim his body by any means necessary.
W: But despite the possession, Terra's heart fought back against Master Xehanort's several times, which led to the new Xehanort unlocking his heart once again to retaliate, leading to Xehanort's amnesia.
(Anger Unchained - Kingdom Hearts 3)
B: As a powerful Keyblade warrior, Terra mosty wields the Earthshaker and its upgraded form, Ends of the Earth, and his moves are no joke either. He's got several Command Styles. Critical Impact utilizes slow but heavy attacks and creates huge shockwaves by slamming his Keyblade down into the ground. Rock Breaker summons three large earth crystals from the ground and sends them at enemies (which kinda makes sense since Terra means Earth in Latin). And Dark Impulse has Terra summon the power of darkness to attack his foes. And he can also control sand.
W: Terra can also use gravity and binding magic to stop enemy movements for easier attacks. And he also has three Shotlocks. Dark Volley fires blasts of dark energy at targets, Sonic Shadow has him summon pillars of darkness while being cloaked in shadow after charging through enemies, and Ultima Cannon has Terra transform his Keyblade into a massive cannon and fire two huge blasts that explode when they make contact with enemies.
B: WHAT?! Aw, why can't I have a Keyblade?! It's gotta be worth it if you transform your weapon into a more AWESOME weapon!
W: But with his mind within the Lingering Will, Terra can possibly do what it does as well when donning his Keyblade Armor. The armor can turn its Keyblade into a drill, a whip, and a glider, and it's the same one that Terra uses as well.
B: Just how many forms can a single key-based sword take?!
W: Lingering Will can also use a ritual-like attack and enter a berserker state, use spells like Dark Firaga, Blizzaga and Magnega, conjure drones that shoot out plasma, unleash a Sonic Blade-like attack, and trap enemies in a triangular-shaped seal and drain their health, but even though the Lingering Will can use Deck Commands and Shotlock, it can't use D-Links like Terra himself.
B: Damn. Guess even possessed suits of armor have some disadvantages.
W: But eventually, Terra was finally able to get his body back and help Sora and friends defeat Xehanort and ultimately redeem himself.
B: If that doesn't make him a Keyblade Master, I don't know what will.
Terra: Aqua….Ven...One day, I will set this right.
THE FIGHT:
W: Alright, the combatants are set! And we've run the data through all possibilities! Let's end this debate once and for all!
B: It's time for a DEATH BATTLLLLEEEEEEE!
…
(Destined For Darkness - Brandon Yates)
A robed figure walks across the Keyblade Graveyard until it comes across a kneeling suit of armor. The suit of armor rises and readies his Keyblade.
Terra: Your heart. It reeks with darkness. You have no place here. Leave now, while you can.
The figure only lifts up his hood and discards his robes. Anakin then activates his lightsaber.
Anakin: You stand in my way. Either move or BECOME the way.
Terra: You trespass on sacred ground, you heartless monster!
Terra yells as he charges, and Anakin rushes forward.
DB Announcer: FIGHT!
The two clash weapons, lightsaber against Keyblade. Anakin pushes Terra back with the Force, but Terra extends his Keyblade into its whip form and snags Anakin's lightsaber from his grasp. He tries to pull it back with the Force, making the whip struggle with an unseen force. Finally, Anakin throws Terra into the ground, then uses the Force to pull several Keyblades out of the ground. He flings them at Terra, who deflects them with his own Keyblade before summoning earth pillars. He throws them at Anakin, who destroys them with Force Pushes and lightsaber slashes.
Terra: What magic IS this?!
Anakin: You underestimate my power.
Terra transforms his Keyblade into a glider and flies at Anakin, who dodges with Force Reflexes. Terra then transforms his Keyblade into a powerful cannon and fires at Anakin, who pulls up boulders with the Force to block the beam.
The two then resume close combat, but when Anakin begins to Force Choke Terra, he only roars out in rage and unleashes the darkness within, breaking his armor in the process. Anakin's eyes only glow yellow as he uses the Force to draw a Keyblade into his hand.
Both: DIE!
They charge and begin clashing weapons, with Terra knocking the Keyblade out of Anakin's grasp and even getting the high ground, then firing dark energy blasts at Anakin, who deflects them with his lightsaber and retaliates by Force-throwing large chunks of rock ripped from the graveyard surface.
Terra: Blizzaga!
Terra freezes the boulders and breaks them with ease before clashing with Anakin, both attacking more and more aggressively. Terra kicks Anakin back, who begins to pant heavily, the sound of Darth Vader's breathing echoing in a ghostlike tone.
Anakin: Enough of this…
He Force Blasts away pillars of darkness and Dark Firaga spells, then Force Pulls Terra in close. Terra swings with his Keyblade, but Anakin puts him in a Force Choke-hold after slicing the Earthshaker in two. With a cold look, Anakin slowly clenches his fist as Terra feels his organs getting crushed.
Terra: A...Aqua...Ven…
Terra notices something behind Anakin: Sand from the leftover rocks that were crushed during their battle. Reaching out with his Earth Magic, Terra gathers the sand and summons a powerful sand tornado that blinds and stuns Anakin, making him scream and drop Terra.
Terra: This time, I will set things RIGHT!
Terra dons his Keyblade Armor and summons Ends of the Earth after using magic to reform Earthshaker, then charges with a yell. By the time Anakin blasts apart the sand tornado with the Force, Terra powers through it and impales him with his Keyblade. Anakin screams in pain before Terra decapitates him.
The body falls to the ground and the lightsaber deactivates. Panting, Terra casts Firaga to burn the corpse before walking away.
Terra: Xehanort...YOU will be next…
RESULTS:
DB Announcer: KO!
B: Oh man! Way to get a-head of the game!
W: Anakin was far more skilled in ways of combat and the Force, but he DID have two weaknesses: His temper and sand.
B: And for a guy from a desert planet, that must bring back painful memories. Terra's Earth Magic contains sand, so he knew how to create the perfect distraction so that he could get in close and seal the deal.
W: Terra was also far more controlling when it came to his mind and darkness, allowing him to easily overcome the berserker of a fallen Jedi that was Anakin.
B: Too bad Skywalker couldn't notify his next of Ana-kin.
W: The winner is Terra.
