Minerva listened from her table in the three broomsticks as one of her favourite Professors defended his relationship and the man he was in said relationship with for the umpteenth time that evening, he had only been at the pub for half an hour.
'Make sure that isn't poisoned mate' Ron scoffed from his place opposite Harry arm slung over the back of Hermione's chair
'I hardly think Severus would send me a flower that is poisoned' Harry replied 'its very sweet of him'
'Please Harry I am trying to enjoy my drink' Ron grimaced
Harry sighed casting a spell on the flower and putting inside his robe pocket, coming out for drinks lately had become a chore where his friends were concerned, soon as he mentioned something Severus had done for him or the affection he was lavished with, Harry was met with derisive snorts, looks of contempt and pity (mostly from Hermione, Ginny and the Patil Twins)
On his way to the Three Broomsticks that evening a yellow rose had materialised in Harry's hand, he knew instantly whom it was from and the gesture warmed his heart. To the people surrounding him you would have thought he had come in and announced that he was seeing the devil himself.
'Greasy git should be locked up' Ginny sneered from her place wrapped around Michael Corner 'Don't know how you can possibly stand to be with him'
'I'm with him because he is a kind and decent man, who like the rest of us wants to leave the past where it belongs' Harry justified 'If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have won the war'
'You won the war Harry, not Snape' Hermione snipped
'I won because Severus gave me what I needed to win, he is the true hero not me' Harry said firmly
'He is a no good death eater who took pleasure in seeing people suffer' Padma Patil spat
'It was an act, he had no choice' Harry sighed sick of going around in circles
'From what I hear he hasn't changed, George told me he came in to the shop the other week, snarling at two kids to get out and back to the castle' Ron said his voice dripping with hate
Oh yes lets not forget George Weasley joke shop owner and Hogsmeades resident spy, the man would give Rita Skeeter a run for her money and that was saying something Harry thought to himself
'Those students you are talking about had been skating on thin ice all day, and had failed to return to the castle on time, Severus had to come looking for them, naturally he was a little riled' Harry replied 'Lets talk about something else'
Hermione launched into a spiel about the Ministry and the waves she was making in the Muggle regulations Department. Ron boasted about a raid that he single handedly navigated, Harry had heard different from one of the Aurors he kept in touch with.
When the war had ceased nearly two years ago, Harry had no idea what he wanted to do with himself, so save for doing nothing he went into the Auror training program, six months in he knew it wasn't what he wanted to spend his life doing, chasing and destroying one dark wizard was more than enough.
As such he gave his resignation to Kingsley and went in search of the next chapter of his life. Harry and Severus had struck up a friendship in this time, and it was the Potions Master who suggested he come back to Hogwarts and teach.
Minerva was finding being headmistress and Transfiguration Professor very taxing and was in the process of looking for a replacement. Severus told Harry he would be perfect for the job and insisted he speak with Minerva.
When the new school year commenced Harry was announced as the new Transfiguration Professor, not long after term began he and Severus started seeing each other in a romantic sense and had been together ever since.
His friends had not delighted in the news that he had taken up with the snarky Potions Professor and relished in telling him so every opportunity they got. Harry didn't falter nor did he let it get him down, he told them exactly how Severus was in their relationship, how he treated Harry with love and kindness.
Minerva stopped listening at that point and turned her focus back to her table unable to hear anymore of what was being said a few tables away.
Harry got up to go and order another drink from the bar and the others started to whisper in low tones, about just how much the war had traumatised Harry, how he wasn't in his right mind and how his parents and Sirius would be ashamed that he had taken up with the Death Eater who lived in the dungeons.
Late the next afternoon, Harry walked in to the Potions room to find his love hunched over a pile of parchment a frown on his face. He hadn't seen him that day, as Severus was on chaperone duty in Hogsmeade and Harry had been refereeing a Quidditch game for Rolanda who was unwell.
'What's that frown for?' Harry asked kissing Severus' cheek 'bad day in Hogsmeade?'
'You could say that' Severus said in an even tone placing his quill down on the desk
'Oh, what went wrong?' Harry countered sitting down at one of the desks
'The students were quite well behaved as it happens, something that I was made aware of in the Three Broomsticks has left me rather irked' Severus replied 'Imagine my surprise when Rosmerta came over and started babbling on about all the wonderful things I do for my lover, how much I have changed, how her heart swelled when she heard said lover gushing about me'
'I take it you have a problem with that?' Harry met his lover's fierce gaze and guessed that he did indeed have a problem.
'Yes Harry I do have a problem with my private life being advertised for all to hear in the pub, there some things that I do not wish for others to be privy to and my love life is one of those things' Severus intoned
'I tell people those things because I am proud of the man you are and am far from ashamed of our relationship' Harry bit back
'I am not ashamed of our relationship either Harry, I would rather people didn't know what goes on behind closed doors' Severus stated
'Severus give me some credit I don't disclose every thing that goes on' Harry said stiffly
'I didn't think you would Harry, but the fact remains I don't want your friends knowing what I do in my private affairs, it took me a long time to open up to you and the idea of us being a couple, please don't make me regret doing so' Severus rigidly.
'Sounds to me like you already regret it Severus' Harry said resignedly 'I will leave you to your work'
Harry walked out of the classroom without so much as a backwards glance, instead of going back to his rooms, Harry went to the 7th floor and into the Room of Requirement where he spent the next 3 hours talking out his frustration on an unsuspecting training wizard.
Severus ate dinner in his rooms that evening, not in any mood for company, as he ate his sandwiches, he justified everything he had said to Harry earlier in the afternoon, he had a right to his privacy, surely Harry of all people could understand that, having had his life splashed all over the front page for so many years.
The Potions Master had never confided in anyone the way he had Harry, not even Albus, it was something he never thought he would do. He wasn't ashamed or embarrassed to be with Harry, quite the opposite, but that didn't mean the whole magical community needed to know about it, especially not those Harry considered friends. He loved Harry with every fibre of his being but no one had to know how he loved Harry.
Over the coming weeks things didn't improve, Harry would come to bed when Severus was sure to be asleep, he was up before his lover each day and usually gone by the time Severus was up.
One morning he had over slept slightly and was in the kitchen when the Potions Master came out, Harry muttered a good morning and set about getting ready for the day, Severus gave him a peck on the cheek and Harry moved out of the way before he could hug him or something else.
Over dinner one night another argument broke out and Harry stopped coming home altogether. The Professor came in one evening to find all of Harry's belongings gone. Viewing the action as childish Severus got on with his nightly routine.
'You've been very quiet tonight' Hermione pointed out as she, Ron and Harry sat in the Three Broomsticks
'Been a long week' Harry answered
'Thought that git you're with must have pissed you off' Ron chimed in
'Severus hasn't done anything of the sort, he gave me breakfast in bed this morning' Harry lied
'Really Harry he is an awful man, you should hear the things people say about him at the Ministry, I certainly would want to be associated with anyone like that' Hermione said haughtily
'Severus long ago stopped caring what people said and thought of him Hermione, he isn't that man anymore' Harry defended again
'It's not good for your image mate' Ron scowled
'I don't have nor do I want an image Ron' Harry answered 'I am perfectly happy being the way I am'
A week later Severus found himself outside of Harry's classroom, he didn't know what had brought him here, maybe it was the fact that Harry wouldn't be there, it was Friday night and he knew that Harry would be in Hogsmeade having drinks with his friends. Light was shining under the door, figuring harry had just forgotten to turn it off he opened it and walked inside. To his surprise Harry was sitting at his desk, scribbling madly on a piece of parchment.
'Thought you were going out tonight?' Severus asked announcing his presence.
Harry stopped what he was doing and green eyes locked with black 'they had to cancel something came up' he fibbed 'but I am going away I was just leaving you a note'
'Away where?' Severus asked
'Just away I will be back on Monday' Harry deadpanned
'You aren't even going to tell me where you're going in case I need to get in touch with you?' Severus replied
'Why would you need to get in touch with me Severus?' Harry spat 'only reason I can think of is so you can tell me what I can and cant discuss with people'
'Harry this is getting ridiculous' Severus snipped
'You know what Severus I don't care, if you can't accept that I am proud of the man you strive everyday to be and that sometimes I want to tell people about it, because I love you not because I am breaking some sacred bloody code then we have nothing left to talk about, now I am leaving very soon so if you wouldn't mind' Harry gestured towards the door, making it clear he wanted Severus to leave.
'I take it we are over then?' Severus said coldly
'Take it however you like, I have to go' Harry turned and walked into his private rooms slamming the door shut behind him.
Severus stood in the doorway of the classroom waiting to see if the door to Harry's rooms would swing open again, but after 10 minutes it was evident that wasn't happening. He moved to go and knock on the door and demand that Harry come out and talk to him, but the man had made his feelings clear, it would do no good.
'Harry so good to see you' Neville beamed hugging his friend tight
'You too Nev' Harry squeaked
'Drake will be home in a minute' Neville told Harry taking his bag and setting down in the living room 'you want something to drink?'
'I can wait til Draco gets home' Harry smiled
'Wait no longer Harry I am here' Draco sashayed into the room taking Harry in a warm embrace
Settling in the living room with drinks in hand, Draco cleared his throat
'What brings you to our little corner of the world?' the blonde asked 'not that we aren't happy to see you'
'Things have been a little icy with Severus and me, I needed to take some time out' Harry countered
'How icy?' Draco ventured
'Below freezing of late' Harry replied 'I moved out of the dungeons about a month ago'
'And you're just telling us this now?' Draco gaped
'Drake' Neville chided inclining his towards Harry who had tears welling in his eyes
'What's been happening mate?' Neville asked gently, moving to sit near his friend
'I don't really know what happened to be honest' Harry began 'I meet Ron and Hermione at the pub every fortnight or so for drinks, you know they've never been thrilled with the idea of me and Severus and tell me quite often, so I started telling them all the good things he does, how he really is now the war is over and he can be himself. It didn't make a scrap of difference mind; they still see him as the same bastard that taught us. Anyway he was on chaperone duty in Hogsmeade and went to the Three Broomsticks, Rosmerta came over raving about how it made her heart swell to hear he treated me so nicely. I went to see him later that day and he let me have it, said that he didn't want his private life advertised everywhere, he didn't want my friends knowing how we were, said that he didn't want to regret opening up to me when the battle ended. When the arguing got worse I moved back to my rooms'
'Have you tried talking to him?' Draco asked in a nicer tone
'Ended in a slanging match so I stopped' Harry admitted 'he came to see me tonight before I left it didn't go well'
'The same thing happened to me and Drake' Neville told him
'What do you mean?' Harry asked confused
'When we first started seeing each other Harry I was like Uncle Sev, didn't want my private life broadcast all over the magical community, I was the son of a Death Eater and considered lower than scum' Draco said
'I wasn't happy about it, friends told me all the time what a huge mistake I was making being with someone like Draco, Ron and Hermione were among them, so like you I started telling them about all the good qualities he had and how loving he was towards me' Neville picked up
'When I found out it very near split us up' Draco chimed in
'I think it's spilt me and Severus up' Harry said sadly
'One day I was in Diagon Alley, meeting Dean and Seamus for lunch, Draco had a few errands to run and was meeting me later. As usual they started on me being with a snake, how it was going to ruin my life and such, as always I defended Draco to them, not that they listened. What I didn't know was that Drake had come into the pub and overheard what I was saying, he understood how hard it had been for me and came over to the table and sat down with us, put his arm around me and kissed me right in front of them' Neville explained
'Did it make things better?' Harry asked
'Yes and No, they accepted that I was with him and wasn't going to leave him, but they didn't like it and eventually distanced themselves, it made the decision to move here a lot easier' Neville added
'Harry I understand where Uncle Sev is coming from and I understand where you are coming from, maybe you just need to make him aware of what they are doing?' Draco suggested
'Might be a good idea to distance yourself from the others for awhile' Neville added
'I have I was supposed to be going out with them tonight, but I cancelled' Harry replied 'it's not only Ron and Hermione, its Ginny, Michael and the Patil Twins'
'Sounds familiar' Neville snorted 'I got letters from all of them'
'Do you want me to talk to Uncle Sev?' Draco offered
'No, it won't do any good' Harry said resignedly 'Dumbledore always said it does not do well to dwell on dreams and forget to live, my dream of walking off into old age with Severus just wasn't meant to come true, maybe the time I've had with him was all I got'
'Oh Harry' Draco said, coming over and pulling him into another hug
Back at Hogwarts things remained as frigid as ever, Harry resigned himself that it was over and he had to move on with his life. There was a pile of letters waiting for him when he returned from Canada, from Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Padma and Parvati all asking why he hadn't been to the pub, inviting him to catch up for drinks. Harry wrote short replies saying that with exams not far off he was going to be quite busy and wouldn't have time to socialise.
He received a long-winded reply from Hermione saying that if Severus wasn't allowing him to come out and spend time with his friends, she would come to the castle and get him herself, he wasn't to let Severus dictate whom he could and couldn't see. He wrote back save having her storming the gates and explained again that he was just very busy.
Severus hadn't seen a lot of Harry in the ensuing days after his return from wherever he had been, if he did see him Harry mumbled a greeting and kept going, in the Great hall, he engaged the other Professors in conversation, only speaking to him if he absolutely had to. The Potions Master got the distinct impression that their relationship was over and Harry wanted nothing more to do with him, even though nothing had been said to confirm or deny his suspicion.
'Severus do come in' Minerva smiled a few nights later when the Professor came to her office for their usual game of chess and whiskey
'Thank you Minerva' Severus smiled wanly sitting down on a plush chair
The headmistress poured two tumblers of whiskey, giving one to Severus and taking the seat across from him. The chessboard was on a small table between them set up and ready to go.
'How is Harry?' Minerva asked making her first move
'Well' Severus murmured, moving one of his pieces
'I am rather glad he has you Severus, seldom have I seen him as happy as he is with you. It's a relief to see he isn't spending as much time with those who claim to be his friends' Minerva pointed out 'I saw him in the pub a month or so back, he spent the whole evening defending you to them, because they were continuously calling him on being with you, speculating that you were still the same contrite and spiteful man of years past, you were only out to hurt Harry and so forth, you will be glad to know that Harry fought back'
Severus' hand froze over the piece he was contemplating moving, his heart thudded in his chest and a sick feeling settled in his gut, Harry had been defending his honour and motive to their relationship and all he'd done was berate him for spilling private secrets. No wonder they were no longer together and Harry wouldn't give him the time of day. Why hadn't he told him though, because he would have motored right over him and not heard a word.
'Severus you alright?' Minerva asked
'I'm a jackass' Severus huffed 'Harry and I have been having problems for over a month and it's because of what you just told me'
Minerva sat her tumbler down on the table and regarded Severus over half moon spectacles; things were beginning to click into place.
'Let me guess, you found out that Harry has been talking about your relationship and how you act and voiced your opinion on the subject?' Minerva asked sternly
'Yes among other things' Severus admitted
'You are a private man and you don't want your private life out there for all to see and hear?' Minerva guessed
'Right again' Severus confessed 'now our relationship is over and there is nothing I can do'
'There is something you and will do Severus Snape' Minerva said in her tone that invited no argument or complaint. 'Did it ever cross your mind that Harry was forced to tell them about how you are because of the detestable things they were saying?'
'No it didn't' Severus shook his head
'Severus they said that Sirius and his parents would be ashamed of who he was with, can you imagine ho Harry would have felt hearing something like that, thank Merlin he didn't, but I did and it made me sick to my stomach' Minerva enlightened him.
The Potions Master couldn't speak, they had no right to use his parents and Godfather against him, no matter how much 3 of the 4 loathed each other.
'We or rather you are going to throw Harry and early birthday party and invite those judgemental excuses for friends so they can see first hand how you really treat someone you love, and if you really do love him Severus then this should be an easy task complete' Minerva instructed him.
'I love him more than anything Minerva and I will do anything' Severus said with conviction
'Yes you will, now as you know Harry better than most we will set to planning a birthday he won't forget' Minerva summoned parchment and quill, together she and Severus planned Harry's surprise.
Harry was getting ready to go down to the Great Hall on Friday night, Minerva had sent him a memo about a dinner in the hall for all the staff, bit of a treat before the exams started. A knock on the door had him hurrying out of his rooms to see who was there.
'Neville, Drake what are you doing here?' Harry asked in astonishment, when he opened the door
'Thought we'd come and spend the weekend' Draco countered
'I'm just heading down for some staff dinner, you're more than welcome to join me, I'm sure Minerva won't mind' Harry beamed.
'Lead the way' Neville smiled
When they got the entrance to the hall, Neville stopped and let out a huge sneeze. 'Sorry about that, must be the dust' he grinned
Walking inside Harry's mouth hit the ground when he saw a huge banner floating in the air that read out Happy Birthday Harry. Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Padma, Parvati and Michael were standing over in one part of the hall and some of the staff standing in the other. Severus was talking to Minerva and offered Harry a small smile when he came in flanked by Draco and Neville, who were trying very hard to look invisible.
'What's all this about?' Harry asked 'It's a little early for my birthday'
'We wanted to throw you an early birthday party before all the exams start' Severus said quietly coming over to Harry
'This was your idea?' Harry asked quite shocked
'I had help' Severus smirked 'It seems I have an apology to make'
'You thought throwing a party was the way to do it, with the people that aren't thrilled with the notion of you and me?' Harry questioned 'Not funny Severus'
'Harry please come with me for a few moments let me explain' Severus implored
'Alright' Harry sighed following Severus into the room beside the hall and sealing the door.
'I have been a jackass Harry and I am very sorry' Severus began
'Damn right you have been' Harry snapped
'Minerva made me aware of what you have been going through with your friends, she was in the pub and overheard them giving you a hard time about being with me, she also told me that you defended me quite a bit'
'Yes I did, and not because of the reasons you thought, it was because I wanted them to see that you are a wonderful, caring and giving man, who I happen to love very much' Harry explained
'Can you forgive me Harry I am an incredibly foolish man who doesn't appreciate what he has until it is near ripped out from underneath him' Severus pleaded
'Severus' Harry sighed 'I understand the need for privacy believe me I do, it was never my intention to divulge every single bit of our relationship to my friends, I only ever told them the little things you would do for me, I didn't tell them about our intimate moments or the very private things that happen, I wanted them to see the real Severus Snape, not the man they are hell bent on holding on to. That is the one and only reason I told them anything at all, because I was trying to make them understand'
'I'm an idiot' Severus chastised himself
'Yeah but you're my idiot' Harry smiled 'I didn't behave very maturely either and for that I am sorry, I won't say anything anymore'
'No as of tonight that ends, that's why I planned this party so your so called friends can see once and for all the person I am' Severus said with finality
'Even if they still think Sirius and my parents would be ashamed?' Harry said sombrely
'You heard that?' Severus asked
'Yeah I did' Harry replied sadly 'it made me realise how very narrow minded they are'
'Ready to go and knock them on their arses?' Severus said with a wicked gleam in his eye
'As long as you promise to knock me on mine later' Harry winked
'Goes without saying love' Severus purred squeezing said arse
The pair walked out into hall, Hermione grabbed Harry as he walked past, 'is everything alright Harry?' she asked
'It's fine Hermione why wouldn't it be?' Harry mused
'I thought he might have been laying down the law' she replied
'Only about what happens after the party' Harry chortled, leaving Hermione gaping in abject horror
Harry and Severus had gone out onto the dance floor, holding each other close they spun elegantly in time with the music, Draco and Neville remained at the table, tuning in to snatches of conversation going on across from them.
'Sirius would be turning in his grave if he saw this' Ron snorted 'Harry's a fool to himself if he stays with that git'
'I think you're the fool Weasley' Draco sneered facing the redhead 'how dare you make Harry feel as though he has to justify his love life because you don't approve'
'What would you know ferret' Ron spat back
'More than you Weasel' Draco retorted 'while we are on the subject of Weasels I ever hear you whisper one word about Harry's parents and godfather being ashamed of him again I will personally take you apart'
Harry and Severus came over to the table having heard the commotion from the dance floor; Ron was sputtering and looking for any excuse he could to deny having said anything about his family.
'Before you sprout some lame excuse about not having said any such thing about my family, you should know that I heard you that night in the pub as did Professor McGonagall, you think what you like about me but don't you ever bring my family into it again or it wont be Drake that rips you apart it will be me' Harry warned
'Don't come to us when it all falls apart and you have no one left' Hermione snapped pushing her chair back and collecting her bag.
'Wouldn't dream of it' Harry bit back
'Oh and Michael you might want to ask dear Ginerva about her activities in the alleyways of Hogsmeade, those students that were lagging behind in George's shop got an eyeful of your girlfriend with Cormac McLaggen, her knees might be a little grazed from kneeling on rough ground' Harry said smugly
Ginny stuttered and stammered as Michael questioned her about Hogsmeade and Cormac, when they had left the hall the party continued. Harry and Severus laughed, held hands, kissed and acted like any other couple would on a night out.
'Oh god Sev' Harry whimpered 'you make me come alive'
'You are so beautiful like that' Severus whispered as he fucked Harry into next week
'Make me cum Sev, please make me cum' Harry begged
'I'll make you cum baby, I will make you cum so hard' Severus growled taking Harry's hard, leaking prick in hand and pumping it fiercely
'Mmm love your hand on my cock, so good' Harry mewled writhing beneath Severus his orgasm closing in
'You're getting close baby I can feel it your tight arse clenching around my dick, cum for me love' Severus panted
'Fuck' Harry roared cum shooting from his prick, is vision blurring as the waves of ecstasy crashed over him, Severus took him higher milking his cock for all it was worth.
'Harry, fuck I love you so much' Severus grunted as his own completion came hurtling towards him, shuddering he emptied his seed deep into Harry's arse.
Flaccid penis slipping from Harry's tight heat, the Potions Master lay down beside his lover and pulled him close, kissing his lips softly and sweetly.
'Did you have a good time tonight?' he asked
'Yes I did thank you' Harry smiled tiredly 'even with the party poopers'
'It's their loss love, if they are too blinded by their hatred for me there isn't much you can do' Severus said
'No there isn't and I really don't want to do anything about it, my life is my own and who I choose to spend it with is too, I haven't room for petty people who can't let go of the past' Harry claimed
'Me either, and again I am sorry' Severus said
'It's ok Sev I understand, I only did it for you' Harry replied
'I know Harry and I love you all the more for it'
1 year later Ministry of Magic 3rd Anniversary of Battle of Hogwarts
'Welcome to the third Anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts' Kingsley Shacklebolt's deep voice boomed 'tonight marks three years since the light reigned and the darkness fell, let us all celebrate another year of being safe and well'
Harry, Severus, Draco and Neville sat down at one of the round tables, where fancy name cards had been placed, adorning their names in shimmering gold lettering. Other guests and Ministry dignitaries took their seats and the cacophony of chatter began. To the left of the table Harry occupied was another that hosted Hermione, Ron, the Patil twins and Ginerva minus Michael, all eyes fixed on the table where he sat.
In the year since the early birthday celebration things had only gotten better between him and Severus, no longer did the Potions Master keep every detail of their relationship behind closed doors, he kissed Harry in the hallways, he held is hand walking into the Great Hall, he showed him in a million different ways just how much he cherished him.
Harry hadn't spoken to the others since that night, if he saw them in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley he went about his business paying them no mind. He received a few letters mostly from Hermione that were less than favourable on his part, Harry happily watched as each and every one of them burst into flame.
The music began to play and the coupled quartet got up to dance, the Slytherins offering their hands to the Gryffindors, leading them out to the floor and holding them close. Ron and Hermione followed a few minutes later, muttering loud enough for Harry to hear them each time they passed by.
'Absolute disgrace' Hermione tutted as she and Ron moved past Harry and Severus
'It's just an act for our benefit, like it was at that ridiculous party last year, to piss weak to admit we were right' Ron hissed
Severus could feel Harry shaking with rage in his arms; coal black eyes met blazing emerald green.
'Concentrate on me and nothing else love' Severus said in a calm tone 'Harry look at me'
Harry looked into Severus eyes and found nothing but love and admiration, not judgment and hostility, his breathing began to even out and he put all his energies into dancing with his lover and existing only in that moment.
'You right?' Severus asked
'Yep' Harry said firmly 'it's hard not to react'
'I know but that's what they want' Severus reminded him 'you are a better man by far'
When the music stopped Harry and Severus walked back to the table hand in hand, six pairs of eyes watching their every move.
'I've had enough of this' Draco fumed
'Let Harry and Sev deal with it Drake' Neville warned 'any of us react we are as bad as they are, the best thing we can do is not give a damn and enjoy the night'
'Yeah I suppose you're right' Draco conceded 'I hate what they are doing to Harry and Uncle Sev'
'Does it look like they care?' Neville asked pointing to the table where Harry and Severus were locked in a passionate kiss
'Not at all' Draco grinned 'but it seems the table next to them care quite a lot'
Hermione and company were grimacing and complaining at the sight of Harry and Severus snogging, their mutterings were eventually heard around the room, people began to glower and scowl at the table of six, who were making a spectacle of themselves.
'Lets go, we aren't going to get a rise out of him' Ron huffed 'waste of time coming'
The six ambled from the room and were soon out of sight; the celebrations continued well into the night, no one minding or caring about the fact those six guests had stormed off in a huff.
