Marinette wasn't an ideal go- getter, and dare type of girl. So, for Alya to dare her to a tempting deal, she felt nervous.
The 16 year old gulped as her peers stood in front of her with their arms crossed, a smirk playing at their lips.
"D-dare?", she said nervously, "go to a public wedding, pretending to be a guest... for 50 bucks from each of you guys?".
That was one dare. That was enough fabric to last her months, MONTHS! Especially since all 12 of her friends were in on it.
"Yep, 50 bucks Mari, thats all you have to do",Kim said smirking at his clumsy friend.
Marinette looked down, forming a fist in concentration. She lifted her head, staring, the anxious feeling inside of her trying to tell her to do the otherwise.
"Fine", she said, her peers cheering, "but on one condition, Alya has to go with me, i wont do it otherwise"
"Oh heck no!", Alya said defensively. Alix snickered before they all turned to Kim.
Silence broke the room while Kim raised an eyebrow expectantly, definitely the obvious peering that he was indeed pressing on the idea. After a few seconds of silence he smiled.
"Deal".
Alya screeched.
"Look, there is no way that Mari is going to along with this, it's absolutely out of her league", Kim said while he, Alya, and Alix walked towards their homes.
"Yeah, but Marinette is full of surprises, she's like a pincher ant. They're so small, but they hurt bad when they bite you", Alya said shivering. Alix chuckled, shaking her head to look back at Kim.
"Even if she did, she would be humiliated her whole life. Plus...", Kim said cheekily.
"Plus what?!", Alya said worriedly.
"I looked around to see any weddings that are coming up and, i know the perfect one".
"Oh Kim-"
"There's gonna be around 150 people there", he said smirking.
Alix cackled, slapping her leg in the process.
"Your so evil", the skater said rolling in laughter.
Marinette was absolutely regretting her decision now as she sat in her room thinking. She knew that Kim was a sneaky one, and he'd definitely never stop at a chance to laugh at her. And she fell into his trap.
"Ugh How could you be so dumb Marinette!", she said to herself, getting up from her desk chair to pull out her drawer of fabrics. The drawer stood dry, only 2 small rolls of pink and red fabric.
She stood looking at the drawer sorrowfully.
"I can get a job..but I'm so busy i barely have time fore that, especially with my designs that have to be submitted to a design company...i need that free money", she said.
She went to her desk, grabbing her pencil, quietly sketching out deigns for the meantime.
Kim glanced at marinette as she walked out of the classroom, her tongue sticking out his way in a childish manner. He looked back at her putting the loser sign with his fingers, teasing her casually. She rolled her eyes back.
She was like a sister to him, one that he teased ever so often, and the thought of her going to a wedding with 150 people uninvited made him snicker. Part of him felt bad, but another part wished that she would unleash the brave side of her he saw since they were little. And if it took having to put her in the spotlight, he would do it.
"Don't forget about tomorrow !", he yelled her way, she gave a thumbs up before continuing to walk down the hallway, her nervous face exposing herself.
Kim stayed still until his conscience yelled at him.
"She's really going to do this, isn't she?"
Adrien stared at his physics teacher as he sat in the back row, his attention appealed to the white board. He fixated his glasses, looking back down his paper, then back to the board. At the corner of his eyes, he saw the bluenette beauty enter the class quietly, trying not to get caught, though that was impossible.
"Marinette, could you try and explain why your late...again!", ms. Mendleview said at her. Marinette gave her an apologetic smile, Adriens eyes glued to her as she sat down.
He blushed before looking back down at his paper, trying to be a s focused as possible..if he could. The bell rang only a few seconds later, urging adrien to hurry home. He walked down the stairs slowly but, seeing as marinette had already left, he continued going faster.
As his papers were flopping out of his hand, his legs tried to push further, trying not to be late home.
He felt his figure bump into someone else's as he tried to fix the homework in his hands, making the situation even worse as all the papers fell to the ground, he looked forward, as marinette lost her balance, tilting backwards to almost hit her head on the floor.
Adrien reached his hand out quickly, grabbing marinette quickly before she fell.
"Careful!", he said cautiously, helping her back up. She looked at him, blinking before bending down to help to pick up his papers.
"I'm so sorry..uh.."
"Adrien, my names adrien, I'm actually in your physics class", he said, fixing his glasses..a normal habit that he had.
"Ive never heard of you...I'm sorry Adrien...uh here", the bluenette said handing him his papers. He took them slowly before looking back up at her with a smile.
"Thanks, and its okay, no one really knows who i am when I'm at school anyway", he said to casually for Marinette's own knowing.
"O-okay...nice meeting you anyway adrien", she said, turning back around and running out of the school. Adrien sighed, stacking the papers back in his hands, and walking towards the limo in the back of the school.
As he entered the car, he took his glasses off, staring at Nathalie through the car mirror.
"Contacts", Nathalie said, putting her hand out which held a contacts case. He easily took the brown contacts off, displaying his bright and vibrant green eyes, he sighed, placing them in Nathalie's hands.
"I don't get why i have to wear those anyway, portraying someone I'm not", he said, crossing his arms. Nathalie looked back at him as the car took off.
"You were the one that wanted to go to school anyways, and you know that if anyone found out about you being Gabriels son, they would-"
"Flip...yeah i know Nathalie. But it feels just so unfair, i wanted to go to school to show people who i am, and to make friends for who i am...not this."
Nathalie stayed quiet before sighing.
"With what we want, there comes consequences...now down forget about tomorrow, your tuxedo is in your room, so i wouldn't worry about finding one in your dads collection"
"Thank you...Nathalie"
The next day
Marinette wore a pink silk dress, as she put her hair in a bun for the day where her worse nightmare would happen...embarrassment. She put her head in her hands screaming into them.
"I'm not ready for this", she said to herself. She looked back into the mirror, giving her best smile.
"Come on...its just a dare...just a wedding, and if I'm lucky...a lot of people wont be there" she said into the reflective object. She took a deep breath before running downstairs, her friends smiling at her, Alya wearing a simple dress as well.
"This is going to be good", Kim said.
I hope you guys enjoyed this, and i should be back with more soon. I update every day, or every other day.
