''Today I write the 19th May XXXX. It's in the afternoon, the weather is stormy and rather cold. It is the 3rd day of sailing without reaching a port. I estimate that we will set foot on land in about 2 days. These last days on the Sunny were calm and peaceful, finally after so many weeks of hardships, this is a welcoming expeption to that.

I have to admit that I'm not used to lazy and calm days anymore, it feels weird to have the time to think about all the things that have happended since we arrived in the New World. I've got have mixed feelings about what is going to happen next, but i'm also very excited for the future and the adventure that is still ahead of us (and of course the gold ).

Just one thing on my mind that makes my heart a little bit heavier, is when i think about our captain. It's hard to explain but Luffy is not just the reckless guy anymore. He has become a real man that is more than dependable, I don't need to worry about him as much as i used to. I wish i could tell him how dear he is to me but everytime i try to, i can't put it into words. He must think I'm going crazy for all the times i stuttered before him, wanting to explain what i feel.

Maybe I'm selfish for this but i want to be even closer to him than before but on the same time I'm getting kind of weak when I'm beside him.''

These were the words that Nami could bring to her diary page before she noticed that - again - she was writing about Luffy. Deep in her heart she knew exactly that she loved him more than a friend, but she just couldn't bring herself to accept it. It was the fear of rejection but she also didn't want to lose him, by revealing what she was hiding for so long now. Maybe those fears were silly but since she thought that Luffy never showed any special feelings towards her, she was very careful in opening up to him, like... ''lovers do''. Nami snapped back to reality when she thought of the word ''lovers'' and shook her head eagerly to wipe that image away. ,,What is wrong with me?!'' she mumbled angrily to herself while laying her head on the table.

Hiding her face in the papers on her desk, the door opened suddenly and, speaking of the devil, Luffy exitingly shouted ''Nami! When are we getting to the next island?'', while scaring her half to death.

''How many times should i tell you to knock on the door before you enter you careless idiot?!'' Nami yelled at her captain while giving him three very hurtful punches on his head. ''ouch!...I'm sorry'' Luffy sobbed while holing the bumps on his head.

After a few seconds the situation calmed down and Nami sighted as she answered ''as i told you already, we will probably reach the next island in about two days'' while going back to her desk. Luffy growled downhearted and let himself fall on the couch behind Nami. While laying on his belly he turned his head towards his navigator and said with the last energy he had in his body ''...but it's so boooooooring and the rain won't stop''. Nami sitting on her chair, turned to luffy and asked him sluggishly ''then why are you getting on my nerves and not play with Usopp or Chopper?'' - ''Dumb question...'' Luffy answered in a sassy manner. Nami widened her eyes in a bit of surprise ''...true'' followed with a small chuckle of hers. Luffy just grumbled at that, turned on his back, streched his body and yawend. ''Then I'm gonna sleep now'' he said while making the back of his head comfortably supported by his arms. It wasn't unusual for him to come to sleep on her couch on rainy days, where everyone was busy minding their own business. Normally Nami would just continue working on her map but on this day she just couldn't bring herself to concentrate with her captain in the room, after opening up her heart earlier in her diary.

She then decided to cool her head down and get some tea in the kitchen but as she wanted to leave the room Luffy streched his arm and grabbed her by the waist to drag her to himself on the couch. Within milliseconds Nami laid besides Luffy on the couch in a tight hug. ''L-Luffy!'' she said surprised ''what are you doing?!'' almost not being able to breath because he held her so tight. ''I just feel like cuddling with you'' Luffy answered trying to sound confident while being very nervous too. He pressed her so close to him so she wouldn't be able to see how red his face was, since he could feel the hottness getting to the edge of his ears. Somehow Nami still managed to get a little out of his grip and took a look at his face and when she saw his tomato-red face her eyes opened wide, which made her mind extremely agitated. ''Please don't look at me now'' he whispered while avoiding her stare ''just bear with me ok?'' Nami was speechless at those words and as her body realised that she was so close with Luffy it lost all of its strength.

Minutes past without both of them saying a word. Only the sound of their warm breaths and their chests moving rang in their ears.

Luffy only could Namis tender body in his arms, it was really warm and soft to hold her that way. Thinking about this, there was a weird kind of pain flowing from his stomach into his chest, which made him wanting her near him even more.

Nami lied there, closing her eyes little by little, having no idea of the thoughts going through the head of her captain. She enjoyed Luffys smell and his strong arms around her as long as she could, it felt like the safest place on earth to her in that moment. She was like entranced by his presence.

''Nami'' Luffy broke silence saying her name ''I...'' he paused his sentence, falling into silence again, burying his face into the couch again. It was the big lump in his throat that kept him from talking further. ''Luffy what is it?'' Nami asked curiously having all of her attention on him ''just speak freely, i don't mind!'' she said very eagerly, surprised of her own temperament. The embarassement which followed naturally made her lay her face against his shoulder.

When suddenly loud noises kept approaching the door, the captain and navigator snapped back into reality and abruptly jumped away from each other without further thought. So Nami fell from the couch and landed on her butt while Luffy bumped his head on the wall behind him. ''Ouch!'' both shouted in pain, rubbing their hurting bodyparts, while still avoiding each others eyes.

''Dinner is ready guys!'' Usopp shouted across the floor, which made Luffy jump up immediatly, leaving the orange-haired woman wordless in her room.

Still sitting on the same spot, Nami began to realise what exactly just happened and her heart sank onto the ground, with Luffy being the only thought on her mind.

''What should I do now?'' she desperately asked herself.
