Glave looked at his opponent with narrowed eyes. As a treecko, he was at a disadvantage against his adversary charmeleon.
"Don't tell me you finally grew a brain and got scared!" The charmeleon was taunting Glave, trying to distract his mind even slightly before launching a barrage of fireballs at him.
In truth, Glave was a popular treecko in Advent Town, a medium-sized residential area blossoming with tame Pokémon. He was known for his lack of fear, or his ability to hide it. Truthfully, he just didn't understand it. He had never experienced fear, and from his friends' descriptions of it, it looked like a useless thought that only served to distract. He had asked several other Pokémon about the benefits of fear, and many had laughed at him and said that there were none. Over time he came to believe more that he just wouldn't feel it. He didn't resolve against it, however, it just appeared to be something that would never happen to him.
This exact concept was demonstrated as he made minimal movements whilst dodging the incoming projectiles. His mental stamina was high, while his physical stamina was moderate. With a mind as calm and a reaction time as low as his, he was able to pull off doing the bare minimum to avoid damage, which caused him to be able to move much more agile than his opponents as the battle progressed. He silently whipped an arm in the charmeleon's direction, a razor leaf glowing into existence. He aimed at eye level.
"Give up Cindy," Glave called calmly, letting her hear his voice, "I've already planned out my strategy." Cindy, the charmeleon, ducked under the razor leaf and looked at the empty space where Glave once stood. She smiled after briefly considering the situation. He said he had already planned ahead. She turned around, slamming a fire punch into the target behind her. Her expression broke into one of pure surprise; her arm was now embedded in an incredibly thick root.
[Frenzy plant?] she asked herself internally. Just then she noticed a growing shadow with her head in the center. Her smile returned as she turned, realizing too late that it wasn't simple getting her arm out. Still, she blocked with her free arm, once more appearing a fool as a razor leaf slammed into her arm. If a decoy was behind her, and a razor leaf was in air, wher-
"Ah-ow!" Cindy arched her back, now ten feet into the air and falling back-first. She whipped around mid-air, getting slammed from the side. The last attack sent her crashing to the ground, bouncing a few times before lying on the ground catching her breath.
"N-no good. I'm o-out," Cindy said. Glave landed a few feet away. She saw the hole where he had used dig while she was trapped in his frenzy plant. "When did you learn that?"
She asked.
"Relax. I can't use it to its fullest. That was about the extent of what I can do with it, and that took me a month. Don't expect to catch up, though." He smiled competitively after getting the last dig in. "We should probably address them now," Glave remarked, referring to the Pokémon surrounding the square, cheering for the victorious Treecko.
"Easy for the winner to say."
Glave smirked but understood what she meant. The community in Advent Town was a serious but loving one. They held events such as this fairly regularly. Having been said the current event was a tournament for Pokémon under 5. It would be Cindy's last one per the age restriction, and likely Glave's last one by choice. A luxray approached the pair as Glave was helping his competitor to her feet.
"You both performed admirably," the luxray began fondly, "but there is never more than one winner to a battle. Glave, I grow more convinced with every performance of yours that you must have our blood running through you." The luxray was appropriately named Volt. He had almost been given the name Zapdos, as his father wanted to grow up as a legendary warrior, but the rest of his family laughed at the thought. Volt had taken Glave in at a young age when his father met his fate during a critical mission. He was the head of a rescue team by the name of "Luck" back in his day. Since then, Volt and his mate and two cubs had shown Glave nothing but kindness as the son of Volt's fallen combat partner.
"Depends, what did you and Dad have going on?" Glave asked, igniting hearty laughter from the two.
"Anyways, I'm gonna go hide until all the excitement for Advent Town's foolish champion dies down," Cindy said, dusting herself off.
"Foolish champion?"
"Oh dear, did I say foolish? Glave, forgive me I meant fearless." She mocked, before walking away. Glave would've tried stopping her, but a slender luxray and two shinx approached him.
"Honey, why don't we get you home? You must be tired." The slender luxray gazed at him compassionately. Her name was Circe, and she and Volt were committed to each other. The two cubs, Circuit and Charge were both arguing over who got Glave's attention.
"No thanks, Mrs. C. I have somewhere else I wanted to go after I finished things up here." He smiled at her. And he did just that. He went around, conversing with any of those in the diminishing crowd that approached him until he was free. He didn't understand how so many Pokémon could care about a competition as small as the one he just won, but it pleased him to know that the younger generation would have such a comforting environment to thrive in.
After roughly twenty minutes, he arrived at the roof of Advent Town's department store. It had 8 floors, for berries, seeds, orbs, tm's, fashion accessories, practical accessories, evolution stones, and health and status conditioning items respectively. No one was supposed to go on the roof in all actuality, but he got in good with all the staff members. The higher-ups in the store respected his father, and turned a blind eye, always assuming he went up there to mourn or collect himself. However, under the second farthest tile from the floor, there was a book. It was enormous, and he'd been studying it for just over a year now. Keeping it hidden was his top priority. Since access was prohibited, there were no cameras on the roof, and no one bothered him so he felt this was the safest place to keep it.
The book was a history book of sorts detailing humans, a species long considered extinct. Or rather, endangered to a comfortable level. He had never seen one, nor had any of Advent Town's inhabitants he assumed. They were hated in the Pokémon world, but he didn't know why. Figuring that out was one of his reasons for risking the study of the book. It was strange, though. They appeared to be similar to a normal type Pokémon, but they were incapable of using moves and had severely inferior physical capabilities. He just couldn't determine what these creatures could have done to become so infamous. The only thing they appeared to have going for them was their intelligence. They were a bipedal species that had sculpted their world into one that fitted their hands and other anatomical features. The book detailed registering them using strange methods such as specific patterns that appeared unique to every fingertip of every individual human, as well as very powerful sensors that could detect someone's identity purely by the coloration of their eyes. Most Pokémon had very basic eye colors and fur, so technology such as that would be rather impractical among them.
What he did find was that humans "captured" Pokémon, but the book explained that through this process, a human grew very close with their Pokémon, so he didn't think that was why they were viewed with shame. They even had high respect for the legendary Pokémon, which meant they couldn't be that bad. However, almost every legendary detested humans. The Latias species was rather friendly towards most living things, so they were an exception, but their male counterparts had high suspicion of them. The sword trio... well squad? Either way, the immature Keldeo had no problem with them, but the other three had a distaste for the things. The legendary bird trio was a cynical bunch that didn't even like other Pokémon, while Ho-Oh was relatively fond of certain types of humans. The book went on through many others, but Glave had already been through this section before.
Just then, he was startled by the sound of the door opening. In a panic, he threw the book to the side, behind an elevated row of small decorative shrubs. He looked back and saw the long neck of a tropius sticking through the doorway. Its body wouldn't have fit through the door, but he located Glave and smiled warmly.
"Hello, Glave. I didn't mean to intrude, but Mrs. Circe wished for you to get home. The sun will finish setting rather soon, and she almost has supper ready." The tropius, named Sitrus, was one of the three Pokémon in the highest position of the department store staff. He was also the most sociable, often seen in the streets like any other Pokémon, as opposed to a magmortar and a gallade that were all co-owners beside him. The store probably wouldn't have half as much business as it did if not for Sitrus making the entire town feel welcomed. Having been said, his kind nature wasn't to be mistaken. His frenzy plant attack was monstrous but also vital to protecting the town during the most critical mission it had ever seen.
"Understood. Thank you for coming all this way, sir." Glave replied fondly. When Sitrus ducked back through the door, Glave's heart finally came back up from where it had dropped to. He scurried to where he had thrown his book, seeing it open to a page much further ahead of his current progress. Out of curiosity, he went ahead and looked at it for a bit. The left page was a silhouette of a mature teen human. His figure was male, though nothing clarified the matter. The right page was a gold mine to Glave. His eyes widened as he read through what seemed to be a report, of a human who had strange behavioral patterns and abilities. He was fast, always calm, and seemed to control every situation. His physical strength was said to match that of a slightly out-of-shape Lucario. His mental prowess was similar to a kirlia, or a newly evolved Ggrdevoir. Sadly, that was about the extent of interest on it. Glave frowned, with the number of humans that once roamed the world, surely there were others like this one. Why was it special?
He turned the page and saw where several Pokémon had accused the humans close to this mysterious one of biologically tampering with it and giving it Pokémon DNA. His heart skipped a beat as he read that those humans perished by the same Pokémon when the humans rejected the allegations. They attempted to dispose of the other human but were all defeated in battle, without a fatal blow dealt to any of them. It didn't say who the Pokémon were, so there was always the chance that it was just a weak bunch, but then how did they take out the other humans?
Seeing the sun falling even further behind a building facing the one Glave was on, he hurried and hid his book under the tile, and rushed home.
Once there, the day ended casually. He ate with the family, went to his room, which was adjacent to the two cubs' room, and fell asleep. He awoke early the next morning to the sounds of ferment in the city. He sat up groggily, looking out of his window, seeing several Pokémon rushing away from and to the east entrance to Advent Town. He was jarred to reality and rushed to the door, where Circe was waiting. She looked at him with determination. The situation set into Glave. Volt left. He knew Glave would follow, and told Circe to guard the house and not let the younger members go.
"Mrs. Circe-"
"Forget it, Glave. It's gonna be alright, we just need to sort some things out."
"Well just tell me what we know, and I'll calm down!"
"We know almost nothing. An enraged Pokémon is trying to get into town and began exercising violence on anyone who questioned it. It's probably just wild; we'll have it settled soon."
Glave closed his eyes. This was it. This was exactly what happened a few years ago that took the leader of Team Luck, Glave's father, out of this world.
[Volt-] A short burst of adrenaline coursed through Glave at the thought.
"Mom." He said.
Circe was taken aback, realizing too late that the treecko before her had inherited his father's ability to manipulate others. The one moment of shock was all Glave had needed to slip by her, and he was out of sight when she turned around. She knew she couldn't go after him with her two shinx to look after.
Glave tore down the streets of Advent, not needing to question the location of the attack as he could hear it. He rounded a corner sharply, skidding to a halt. It took less than a second of the sight before him to trigger his fight or flight response. And he never flew.
Volt was facing two Pokémon, a shiny Luxray, and a ditto on top of it. The situation quickly became clear to Glave as Volt used discharge, only for the ditto to jump in front of the Luxray and transform into a Mamoswine. Once the transformation was complete, discharge did not affect the fake ground type. What did have effect, however, was the thick root that violently shot out of the ground under the beast.
"Sitrus, thank goo-" Volt cut himself off when he saw Glave panting behind him. "Circe..."
"It's not her fault, Volt. Besides, I can't lose another father." Glave walked forwards seriously. "Where is everyone else? Where are all the rescue teams? Sitrus? This town is full of strong Pokémon. What makes these two special?" He asked impatiently.
"It was only two. I told everyone to get to safety and that I would handle it. At the time I was thought I was facing two luxrays."
Glave frowned. Volt was probably the only Pokémon in the town who everyone would listen to if he told them not to worry about attackers. As a former member of Team Luck, he held high praise.
"Glave, get back, I'll take care of these two."
Glave didn't get back. He lashed out both of his arms, twin razor leaves headed towards the mamoswine. It transformed back into a ditto, now short enough to where the razor leafs completely missed... the ditto. The luxray in the back was pelted with both, not able to see from behind the formerly transformed ditto. It growled in frustration, before being sent into the air from below.
"Didja know," Glave asked the luxray, both raising into the air, "that a luxrays weak spot is its underside?" Glave then used vine whip, hitting the belly of the Pokémon before him, crashing it into the ground in a similar fashion to his fight with Cindy earlier. He didn't expect to land in between two fire punches. The one in the front knocked the wind out of him, and the one in the back let out a crack and filled Glave's upper body with fiery pain. He looked back to see a charizard behind him, quickly realizing the ditto wasn't just for blocking.
Glave struggled to move, but couldn't make himself. His front and back were burned and every move, even breathing, irritated the hell out of them. Just then, an electroball pelted the copy charizard's back, turning it back to normal and flying away before hitting the ground in a gooey pile. Volt used quick attack to get over to Glave.
"Grr, you're far more reckless than... C'mon Glave, can you get up?" Volt asked the downed treecko, who was struggling to breathe.
"I, uh, think I can help with that." Volt looked up, getting into an incredibly hostile stance as he saw the two Pokémon he was just fighting standing close to him. He eased up, retaining his guard when he saw they were offering berries.
"I don't know what came over us. Actually, I don't even remember how we got here. I just remember the fight from now, and how it felt like I was constantly in danger. I'm not sure why, but every Pokémon I saw filled me with terror," the luxray started, "and it felt like I had to be rid of them or they'd be rid of me. But this treecko... his fighting skills are too good to let go to waste. He could make a valiant hero one day, and I don't want that going to waste. Especially by my hands, so please, take these berries."
Volt peered at them, before moving the berries in front of Glave's face. He began to eat the oran berry first, and the rawst berry second. He sat up, but his body still ached beyond reason.
"I'll have to report what you just said to the rescue federation. I'm gonna need the two of you to stick around until I can get in with them. Is that clear?" Volt asked them sternly.
"Yes sir..." The luxray replied with no enthusiasm, but his sense of responsibility was present. The ditto reluctantly nodded in agreement. "Actually," the luxray said curiously, "I didn't think it was-"
"FAILURES!"
A salamance with a strange dark aura around it came crashing down on the East Gate, where the battle had just taken place.
"Grr, I don't have time for this!" Volt bit down lightly on Glave's neck, the response being a groan of pain, before tossing him onto his back. "You two with me! Try running away and I WILL find you!" Volt said, tearing down the street.
Not feeling they had a choice, the two tailed Volt with a furious salamance behind them. The salamance was extremely sloppy with his flying, crashing into buildings, and searing many different structures with flamethrowers.
Volt headed toward the town square, shot a small ball of blue lightning into the sky. Shortly after, a thick lightningbolt slammed into the ground in the middle of town, the resounding thunder audible for miles. Having successfully signaled to the rest of the town that backup was needed, Volt tore towards the town's Pokémon Center. He looked back to see the two were following him, and the salamance them. Thankfully, he looked back just in time to see an absol pounce over the salamance, slashing into its back with its horn. Volt sighed; he was safe.
A froslass appeared out of the ground next to the salamance, an amused smile on its face. Finally, a meganium approached from the far side of the square.
"Oh dear, Kuroh, I do believe you've struck the poor thing too hard." The frosslass giggled, looking at the absol.
"Looked to me like he deserved it. Flora?" He looked at the approaching meganium, who nodded and spawned vines from the ground to restrain the dragon's feet.
"I saw Volt running by with little Glave. I'm very surprised that he needed backup. Volt must be getting out of shape. It's been years since he's seen a mission y'know." Flora said, looking at her two teammates.
Just then, several more rescue teams showed up on the scene. They moved the salamance to the center of the square to securely guard it from all angles whilst interrogating. The groups consisted of the original Kuroh, Flora, and frosslass, a tangrowth, magneton, and quagsire, a wartortle, heidreigon, and espeon, and a scyther, pinsir, and beedrill. All of them were well known, although none of them compared to the town's current highest team.
"That's some kind of aura around you. Care to explain?" Kuroh the absol asked. The salamance roared, a flamethrower shooting at the absol, who ducked under it like it was nothing. The tip of his horn emitted a purple glow, and a dark pulse was shot down the beast's throat, earning a sputtering series of coughs. "You're not in the position to misbehave. So, behave." Kuroh glared.
It looked around at them all, before roaring again. This roar was different though. It seemed to have an intended target.
"Ugh, what a loudmouth." Said a charizard that was approaching, alongside Volt. "I mean, he's almost as bad as my beloved, airheaded daughter." She added, earning a chuckle or smile from most of the Pokémon.
"The other two that came before it said that they came back to their senses when they lost. They didn't have a black aura like that, but it's worth a shot." Volt approached the salamance, Pokémon parting for his entrance, and he pressed a paw on its strong body and used thunder wave. It stiffened, before rigidly jerking about.
"Sorry we're late. If you want, we can do the beating since it dealt so much damage to our home," cheered a loppuny, accompanied by a lucario, delphox, and a gardevoir. Several of the teams moved far back at their presence. This was the town's current pride and joy, Team Ultima. Beat, the lucario was the only male, and if stereotypes were anything to go by, it showed in his physical prowess, over double that of the team's second-place: Cream the loppuny. Violet, the delphox, was extremely adept at all things special attack. Azure, the gardevoir, had the intelligence to adapt to any situation and plan for the end of the world if she needed to.
"Just don't kill him" Volt shrugged, backing off.
"Oh my stars, Voltie it's you!" Cream squeezed him into a hug, earning some discomforted grunts.
"On to business." Azure held out her hand, before an ice beam erupted from it, encasing the salamance in a thin layer of frost. Beat walked up next, using force palm on the square of it's back. Several shards of thin ice flew off of its body before it slumped down in its vine restraints. The aura faded to dull radiation but was still subtly present.
"That's enough of that." All the Pokémon turned to look at the East section of the square. All of the lesser teams scampered away; a tall lucario approached, the whites of its eyes red, making for entirely red eyes, minus the pupils. An intense aura, much more intense than the salamance's, surrounded her. She threw a black bone rush at the group, all of which dodged before it crashed into the salamance. An enormous wave of red liquid flew into the air, seemingly stopping at its peak before staining the ground. Volt glanced at the salamance. It was a deep wound, and its dimensions were concerning, but medical attention had about a 50 percent chance of saving it, depending on how fast it could get it.
"I need to get this salamance some help. I'll be back." Volt acknowledged Team Ultima, then ran off.
With blinding speed, the lucario rushed Cream. He used force palm, sending her across the square and into a building, a resounding thud audible across the area. Azure used phsycic on it, and while it worked temporarily, the new adversary closed her eyes, and when she opened them she rushed at her.
[What? It knows how to break a psychic grip- No non-psychic should know the method!] Azure thought before her enemy crunched down on her shoulder. She used bite on the other, and Azure slumped, held up by the enemy's grip on her wrists. She looked her up and down, and silently wished that she was in the wild with her instead of surrounded by her allies. She spun in a rapid circle, blocking a fire blast with the gardevoir's limp form. Azure cried out in pain, and the lucario tossed her to the side.
"That's no way to treat an ally, is it?" She flashed a wicked grin at Violet, the delphox. She rushed at her, prepared to use another crunch/bite dark combo. She opened her mouth when she got close enough, seeing a fast movement out of the corner of her eye before her mouth was full. There was an explosion within her mouth, causing her to cough and grasp at her throat. She looked over and saw Beat, readying another aura sphere, although it would be impossible to fit this one in her mouth. The other lucario did a backflip through the air, drilling straight through the pavement when she landed.
"Ju-" Beat couldn't finish the command before he was struck from beneath by two long black bones. [So fast-] He thought. Before he could react or even maneuver his body, the lucario launched the bones at Violet. She ducked, only for one to change trajectory and head straight towards her. She tried to stop it with her psychic abilities, but the top one, also the one ahead of the other, altered its angle, the tip hitting her between the eyes, knocking her back, and allowing the other one to pelt her abdominal region. She wheezed, trying to catch her breath, but she saw Beat flying towards her back-first. His body crashed into hers, before the other lucario force palmed down onto Beat, nearly crushing the delphox beneath him.
The other lucario looked around, grinning at the fear present on all the other Pokémon's faces. It quickly occurred to her that the squad he just defeated must have been the strongest one present; all the others were either shaking or frozen still. Well, they were before they all turned tail and ran. She looked up as a luxray came running back with a blissey in tow. Volt bared his fangs at the enemy, while the blissey used healing moves on the salamance.
"It might be better to see about Team Ultima's members first. I could really use their help with this one. However, given the salamance's condition, I'll trust your judgment." Volt, as well as the rest of the town, revered Blossom as the best healer in the town, and as far as any of its inhabitants knew, the world. Needless to say, she continued her work on her initial subject.
"Let me make this clear. My orders were to bring this town to the ground. Don't know why, and don't care. All the Pokémon you've defeated were sent in confidence that I wouldn't be needed. I can see that that was wrong now. I can promise you, I'm not leaving until most of you are dead. I have no problem if some of you try to run. In fact, it'd be easier if you all run for your lives, that way I could just kill a sufficient amount and spare the rest." The black aura around the lucario flared up as she spoke of his intentions.
"Listen to you... Looks like I have no choice. If beating you brings you to your senses than I'll do it to save you and my home." Volt said with determination reverberating through his voice.
The battle started at lightning speed. He used quick attack, which was met with extreme speed. When in range, Volt coated his body with electricity, which caused his opponent to leap back and cancel the force palm she prepared. She readied two bone rushes, and threw one. Volt used electroball to counter it, but to his dismay, the bone sliced through it. Volt continued his charge forward, getting low to the ground and skidding under the projectile.
"Tsk." He said as he saw the lucario over him with a bone raised high in the air and descending fast toward him. Volt used charge beam, feeling the bone touch his back, but then come off of it before it could hurt. The attack put the lucario into the air, which Volt made the most of by using an electroball. When he launched it, he felt it fly faster than the others. [Good, charge beam gave me a boost.]
The attack pelted the lucario, who hit the ground grinning and panting.
"What is wrong with you?" Volt growled at him.
"Nothing... although soon you'll be asking yourself that." Lucario used extremespeed, getting close to Volt. She slammed her foot into the ground, to which Volt hopped back, but going airborne was a mistake, as he felt several sharp objects impale him from below. Volt landed on his feet, his underside lighting up with a stabbing pain.
Glave ran down the street, rushing to the square. He had mostly recovered and rushed out when the nurses turned a blind eye. Volt was still out there and he had overheard that Team Ultima had been downed. He had to get to Volt. He drew nearer and nearer to the square. Finally, he rounded the corner.
An injured dark lucario, with a vicious grin. Volt, his legs struggling to stay under him. Glave recognized the circles that appeared around the lucario briefly, before fading away. Glave stood there and watched. He didn't know why he wasn't moving. The lucario slammed her paw into Volt's chest, sending him flying down the street, skidding, rolling, and bouncing until he came to a stop. This lucario looked like it had taken a beating before Glave got there. And she just hit Volt with reversal.
The treecko looked at the ground. There were bloodstains where Volt had just been standing. Blood was smeared in the path Volt had just been knocked down. The Lucario looked at the treecko.
"Scared, bucko? Don't fret, you won't last long enough to get in that bad of a condition." The lucario laughed before extremespeeding her way to the runt in front of her. She swung an arm at it; the little thing wasn't worth using a move. Glave looked at the lucario with a wild look in his eyes. He dodged the attack effortlessly, sliding between his adversary's legs and jumping up. The lucario swept his back foot across the ground, assuming the treecko to be down there. When she turned, she got a face full of razor leaves. The lucario grunted, but she was resistant to the type. She summoned a bone and attacked, swinging it downwards at her shorter opponent. A root erupted from the earth, tearing through the pavement and launching a chunk of it in the lucario's face. While he was stumbling backward, she felt her limbs get wrapped with vines. She looked at Glave, who prepared two razor leaves. The lucario suppressed a laugh, before using flamethrower from her mouth, a part of her body that Glave hadn't considered would need to be restrained. The move made direct contact.
Glave slid backwards, a familiar burning sensation permeating his body. This lucario hit way harder than Cindy, that much was certain. But Cindy never hurt Glave's friends or family. Glave grit his teeth in a blur of emotions... frustration, vengeance, determination, etc.
The treecko jumped forwards, his arms extending green blades.
Many will exaggerate the process, and many will say it was a spectacular show that lasted for moments. Many will say that they felt an enormous rush of power, or that it was the best moment of their life. However, to Glave, the blue light that soaked his body as he burst from his first evolutionary stage to his second was merely an advantage in the battle. Lucario's eyes widened, for the first time she was uncertain. A grovyle flew at her, striking her across the chest with leaf blade coating both arms. Glave landed, falling to one knee. He turned around, startled by the sight. The lucario stood over him, blue orbs falling into his body.
[Damn~ I must've cut my vines!] The newly evolved grovyle jumped backward, but was still hit in the stomach by the lucario's kick.
Hit with the move reversal, after having dealt more damage, Glave flew across the square, slamming into a preexisting crater in a building's wall, causing cracks to appear. Glave subconsciously noted that the crater had the shape of a loppunny before he got there. Falling out of the wall, he found himself unable to move his body. It simply wouldn't respond.
"Damnit-" Tears filled Glave's eyes, failure setting into his heart. He even evolved, just to go down in one hit. This was it. Volt was downed. The strongest team in the land had gone down. Glave was powerless. He wanted to cry but refused. He considered the possibilities. If the head of the department store- no, his sharp mind simply pictured the lucario defeating them with ease.
"Kids- no!" Glave moved his eyes up, seeing Circe chasing the two cubs. [Why?] He thought. [After all we've lost, why them?] Tears coated the fur just under his eyes.
"G-get AW-*cough*-away..." Volt tried speaking, just to hit the ground again. The lucario only laughed. She constructed a long bone rush, tossing it at the two shinx, who only just noticed the lucario at all. They froze, looking at the attack, scared out of their wits. The next moment, blood was on their fur as their mother was sent flying over them. They couldn't move.
"Daddy... Big brother..." They started to cry. Glave felt an overwhelming pain in his chest. His heart was hurting. It was actually felt like it was screaming. This reality... It had to be fake.
"What with the lack of activity recently, I went farther away from this place than I have since I found it. I came running back when the spatial sensor tripped." Glave furrowed his brow, struggling to move. The voice was unfamiliar. Actually, when he thought about the sounds that came out of the mouth of the speaker, he realized they felt exotic. In his head, he knew that it was instinct alone that understood what had been said. He got on all fours when he heard strange footsteps. They were balanced; the steps of a bipedal Pokémon. The sound of the steps reminded Glave of hooves. A solid object colliding with the pavement repeatedly.
"It looks to me like I was late. I don't sense any casualties though, so I hope I'll be forgiven." The voice was so strange. Glave got up slowly on both feet, finally lifting his head.
And then he time stopped moving. In respect of the unprecedented event, time stepped to the side, allowing this new entry a clear path to the battlefield.
There was a human standing in the square. Glave's mind went racing. [Humans are outlawed here- no they're supposed to be EXTINCT! And from what I read in the book, they don't hold a candle to a growlithe without a weapon. Is it here to capture us- kill us all? Is it concealing a weapon that we can't fight?]
He wasn't very old. Somewhere between 16 and 19 without a doubt. He looked so average. Not hefty, but at the same time his muscles didn't make themselves all that known. However, he looked at the lucario with a mixture of conviction and boredom. The lucario, on the other hand, looked as shocked as Glave felt. She then reequipped her wicked grin and laugh, using her redundant extremespeed to close this distance, jutting a fist at the human's throat. He snatched it out of the air with unamused calmness, tossing the Pokémon's arm to the side, monotonously picking up his foot and slamming it into the lucario's stomach, picking her up off the ground.
"Grr... Who do you think you ARE!?" Lucario screamed as she thrust her arms out, purple energy making a sphere around her. When the sphere broke, a mega lucario stood in its wake. Glave felt a pang of defeat; it had been holding back against all of Advent Town's strongest Pokémon. He looked around, noticing that all the other rescue teams had come back- he had seen them running away from the square when he escaped the Pokémon center. He also saw the department store staff, and the healed members of Team Ultima. However, no one interjected. They all watched from the side, all eyes on the human trespassing in their home. Many looked with fear, others with hatred.
The lucario finally used its signature move: aura sphere. A huge black ball spawned out of nowhere before he launched it at the human. He sighed, stepping slightly to the side, the straight projectile missing its target. Glave got a sense of familiarity. That must be how he looked whenever he was fighting Cindy or any of the others.
"You can tire yourself out, or I can beat you down. Take your pick so I can get this over with. I was never welcomed in this town, so I'd like to go back to guarding it from the outside." The boy told his over-powered opponent. This only enraged it, causing the black aura to magnify itself. She rushed the boy, a force palm readying with so much power it appeared ablaze with black aura.
The human held up his hand in front of him. "Mangekyo." He said plainly. The force palm slammed into a hard surface. Glave looked on with shock; the human had conjured a blade out of thin air. It had a very crude form, appearing to be more of the general shape of a sword than an actual one. It looked to be crafted out of hundreds of different colors of glass; every time it moved in the slightest, the color pattern visible to someone looking at it altered.
Pushing the blade upwards and outwards, he flung her arm away, then slashed at her chest. Sparks flew as it collided with her chest spike, cutting the tip off. She howled, not out of pain, but out of a livid furiosity.
"Pathetic. You're not worthy to step foot on the pavement beneath you." The human told the lucario off, but it hit Glave that he actually held respect for his opponent. He wasn't sure why, but he understood that the boy only said what he did to distract lucario's mind even more.
Seemingly, it worked as she rushed him, black aura engulfing both hands. She punched at him, with his response being to grab her wrist and toss her to the side. She was being humiliated by a HUMAN. The last part of the thought filled her with even more rage, and the whites of her eyes that were red faded to a black. The orbs of reversal came out of her body, except they were an abysmal black in contrast to their past blue. She bolted at him, mixing the attack with a high-jump kick. He slashed at the attack with his sword.
When attack met attack, the sword shattered, with tons of golden lights in the shape of broken glass flying from the contact point, leaving the sword in two pieces before it dissolved into blue particles rising into the air.
"The mangekyo is tired already?" The human asked with surprise laced in his voice. "Listen here. I hate doing this in front of even one spectator, and it would appear we have a crowd." The lucario just bared her fangs but didn't rush yet. "If I'm not mistaken, you said your orders were to bring this place to the ground. Unfortunately, my orders are quite the contrary. I'm to protect this place, even if the battle ends with my demise. I'd say the difference between me and you is that I'm willing to accept that end."
Lucario didn't care. She just rushed at the unarmed human, jumping into the air and preparing to slam a foot on him. He jumped back, to which she smiled. Her attack sent several bits of pavement into the air, and she started punching and kicking them at her enemy. He grabbed the first one and used it to deflect all the others. His collected nature was beyond pissing her off now. This time, they ran at each other, the lucario far outspeeding him. However, when they drew near, he slid down to one knee, now under her, or rather under her punch.
Glave could see it in slow motion. A thin blue lightning bolt bounced out from under his sleeve, repeatedly bouncing in a triangular pattern down the length of his arm. It traveled down to his hand, which was preparing to strike at her stomach. It wasn't closed into a fist, instead, his fingers were slightly outstretched. He slammed them into her stomach before she could kick him, and a blue explosion of light erupted with them at the center. Out of it flew the lucario, going high into the air.
Glave was watching her ascent when the human appeared behind her out of thin air, spinning 360 degrees before slamming his foot down into her. He landed like it had been a small hop, not a 15+ foot jump into the air. She hit the ground and bounced, placing her feet under her and standing when she did.
The human sighed. He scanned the spectators, making sure that none of them were children. That's when he saw a familiar luxray, who looked away when their eyes met. He continued until he verified that none of them were too young. He remembered seeing a slender luxray being carried away by a blissey, and two shinx following, so he didn't have to worry about them.
The lucario rushed forward. In truth, he didn't want to do this but further exertion would only cause trouble later.
She spun and brought an arm towards the boy's neck. He ducked under it, getting very close behind her and grabbing her chest spike. He flattened her back against his chest, then brought his right hand between her legs. He tried to disregard the crowd's melting pot of reactions. She attempted to turn her head to attack, but he bit down on her neck, ignoring the mouth full of fur.
He wove his tongue around the bit of skin in her mouth, beginning to move his fingers around her lower lips. She tensed up dramatically, the dreads that came with her mega evolution trying to raise, but they were pinned between the pair. He used his index finger and pinky to spread her lips open, then put his middle and ring finger inside of her, moving them in and out rapidly. She moaned, and he noted that the aura around her sharply retracted for a moment.
He realized he had taken the wrong approach in trying to defeat her. If he could calm her mind and make her forget her objective, he may be able to stop her.
He took his mouth off of her neck and opted to bite her shoulder. It was almost an objective fact that female lucario loved being dominated, so he'd have to make sure she knew who was in control. He took his hand off her chest spike and grabbed her throat instead. He didn't choke her, but it was a reminder that he could do whatever he wanted to her. He stopped biting her and pulled her by the maw to make their lips meet. Her eyes widened, and she tried to bite his tongue off.
He jerked back, then headbutted her. She whimpered; it wasn't an arousing pain, it just plain hurt. He then pulled his fingers out of her tight entrance, and she whimpered more.
"Then be-HAVE-" He grunted, taking his hand away from her front, instead, wrapping it under her crotch. Her eyes widened as he pushed his thumb into her anus. He then fit three of his fingers into her soaked pussy, leaving his pinky as the only finger not inside her.
He tried kissing her again. This time, she opened wide and stuck her tongue in his mouth. She wrapped hers around his as it was much longer, coating each other with saliva. He disconnected the kiss and put his mouth close to her ear.
*Gulp* The sound of him swallowing her saliva triggered something inside of her. A stream of juices shot out onto his fingers. It wasn't quite an orgasm, but her body made known how much pleasure she was in.
[I need to wrap this up.] The human thought. Another blue lightning bolt bounced down his arm. It went to the top of his hand, and when it did it made contact with the fluids coating it. She screamed out loud. He reacted quickly, grabbing her maw and shutting it. She whimpered and whined very loudly. He allowed the lightning to trace around his fingers as he brought them into her over and over. Even trying to close her mouth, he could hear her moans.
"Ah, ah, ah~" Each had a different duration and intensity. Finally, the electricity intensified and split a small piece of it off. The small piece skirted down his shock and delivered a small shock to her puckered butthole, while the larger portion gave her pussy a burst of ticklish energy. She screamed loudly, her female cum splashing the ground repeatedly. He withdrew his fingers and started shaking them off, droplets flying away. She hit the ground on all fours, turning her head weakly to look at him.
"Take me~ please, I need it!" She cried to him, spreading herself open for him to see, raising her rear into the air.
He looked around uncomfortably, wiping his hands off on his clothes. He was thankful that the dark aura had retreated from her at least.
Having been said, he knew that wouldn't be what the inhabitants of Advent Town focused on for a while. He braced himself for their predictable reactions.
