A Powerpuff Girls Fanfic by: Richard G. Eubanks (Part of the What Felt Like Forever After Series)
Chapter 1: No Introduction Needed
The city of Townsville! A place that, well if you've been living in it for long enough, is full of familiar faces! But heck, I've been here narrating for some time now; and I barely recognize any of these people! Except for of course, all the villains/ex-villains, Professor Utonium, and the city heroes. I'm sure you all know who they are... because here they come now! Flying high over the townspeople, they're just doing their daily scan over the city; looking for trouble at all angles. No such luck yet; let's just hope it says that way. Although I guess it won't because the girls just picked up something through their super hearing. Something like... three different laughs; all masculine? The girls get too curious and fly down to where the laughs were heard. They found an alleyway that contained three boys in unmistakable clothing. Two of one color, and a black horizontal stripe in the middle. One blonde, one black-haired (A/N: why is there almost no term for that?), and one redhead that also wore a backwards cap. There backs were turned, so they couldn't see the girls; they flew overhead and landed on the roof of a building silently. "That's... those were... weren't they?" Bubbles stammered.
"But I thought they were...didn't we defeat them? I need answers..." Blossom thought to herself. It is true that they hadn't seen the Rowdyruff Boys almost in what felt like forever (see what I did there?). But seeing them here and now is seriously mysterious (Unless of course they were brought back over those four years as well). "We're gonna have to have a word with these three." She finally spoke aloud.
"Okay. But if they go off like: 'Oh good! You three are here! Time for your little treatment!' I may just hold it against you." Buttercup replied.
"You'd have to hold it against me. This was my idea." Blossom told her back.
"You mean 'is'? We haven't really put it into action yet; so you say it is your idea." Buttercup corrected her.
"Let's just head down already." Blossom complained as all three of them flew down to the alleyway. They poked their heads through and noticed the boys had trailed off somewhere else. "Oh... maybe we should've talked less..." She told herself.
"Great. Now there are three superpowered male individuals who are probably gonna go beat up some poor guy on the street for kicks." Buttercup said in a whiney sort of way.
"Hey. We were talking. If you or me had just shut it we would've had our questions answered by this point!" Blossom suddenly got defensive.
"Well then you should've just stopped earlier!" Buttercup shot back.
"Can we please not argue in front of Bubbles? You know how emotional she can get when we do." Blossom asked.
Bubbles approached and said to her: "Thanks for trying not to start a fire."
"Bubbles. We're most likely gonna still argue; but Blossom knows how much you hate it when we do. So she wants us to do it away from you so you won't have to worry." Buttercup told her.
"Telling me doesn't help you know." Bubbles responded.
"I know. My mistake." Buttercup apologized.
"We can bicker later Buttercup. Right now we have to find the Rowdyruff Boys and prevent them from causing any trouble; so let's go!" Blossom ordered. She and the others wasted no time and flew off in separate directions; hoping to cover more ground. (A/N: We'll show the girls one by one)
*With Blossom*
"It doesn't seem normal for me to be making such a big deal about the boys. Though I shouldn't second guess myself in saying they aren't here to cause trouble." Blossom flew through town and asked people if they've seen anyone else flying through (other than her and her sisters). She's had no such luck; and then eventually she spotted Brick standing over the side of a building. "Aha! Found you!" She then hovered over to Brick; who somehow heard her as she approached.
"I hear you back there." He simply said.
"Uh-oh..." Oh Blossom, what have you gotten yourself into?
*With Bubbles*
"Okay Bubbles... you can find him. Besides; you've practically been him before. I'm sure looking for him won't be that hard." Bubbles was reminiscing about a time she went undercover as Boomer and stayed by the Rowdyruff Boys, (and we wonder why she doesn't have an acting career). "Maybe I will be one; maybe I wont. But I probably will." She says to me. Far off in the distance she spotted an unmistakable deep blue light speeding across the horizon. "Target acquired." She waited for the light to fade out then followed the direction she knew for a fact it was going in. Not too long after she caught up to Boomer; who, when realized he was being tailgated, sped up. "Hey wait!" She yelled as she flew faster to catch up with her counterpart.
"Can't catch me!" Boomer taunted.
"Do you really want to go that far?" Bubbles threatened. She managed to catch him in her arms.
"Hey!" He yelled.
*With Buttercup*
Buttercup's mind was emptied out at the moment; the only thing she could think of was 'Where is that crook?' She was ambushed by a sudden flash of energy; which she dodged perfectly. She looked towards the direction of which it came and spotted Butch; and faster than her sisters too! "Finally! Someone who fights back! I've been waiting to pummel such a familiar face in."
"I could say the same for you!" Butch said as he fired it off again.
Again, Buttercup swiftly dodged. "You're really not gonna go easy? Well that's too bad; because neither was I!" She fired off a bomb spike and Butch did the most anticlimactic thing ever, and deflected it back to her. This caught her off-guard, and she was struck by it; although the damage was great, she recovered fast. "Now I know how they feel..." She sympathized with all the very things that her bomb spike had hurt or destroyed. "Alright Butch. You and me; and this time, fight with all your strength!"
"I like the sound of that! But how about this!?" He flies off; leaving Buttercup to eat his dust.
"Get back here coward!" Buttercup then bolted off in his direction.
*Back to Blossom and Brick*
Blossom and her counterpart were giving each other blank looks. Until she decided to break the silence. "So. What have you been doing this whole time?" She asks.
"Not much to be honest. When that dumb ape came to power four years ago; he passed a law that claimed only he was in charge of all the crime that could be committed." So basically... Brick is saying Mojo prevented all other criminals and villains from causing havoc; but only he could cause trouble? Why that's just unfair!
"Not that I support villains... but that's just unfair!" I know I said the same thing!
"And when he revealed that he revived you three, we knew it was done. Sure we weren't allowed to cause massive trouble about a week after you returned; but we managed." He informed her.
"What were you doing this whole time?" Blossom asked.
"We just flew around; minding our own business, and we proceeded to cause trouble when you girls were dealing with other problems." You know that's honestly kinda smart.
"So you've aged too I assume?" She asked; changing the subject.
"Yeah. I've become more focused on my brothers. Can you really blame me? They'd probably be lost without a group leader." He explained. "Why are you staring at me?" He suddenly asked.
"Oh. It's just, I never realized up until now that you were wearing a small jacket." And he was. It was a darker tone of red and reached down to his waist.
"Yeah? Well lemme tell you something else. This hat, also new." He turned his hat around and revealed a skull with a logo that said 'RRB'. "Gotta show our team spirit somehow. Now what is it you truly came to ask?" He shot to her.
She gained a surprised look on her face then came clean; asking: "Are your intentions still evil? Are you still gonna try and take us down the next time we fight?"
"Nah. The villain lifestyle kinda lost its purpose after a while. You get what I mean?" He asked.
"I don't think I would; I've never been a villain." She responded.
"Wait a second weren't there three of ya?" Brick stopped her to ask.
"Weren't there three of you?" She repeated.
"Yeah, but we separated after we heard you conversing on the roof back there." He responded.
"Well, we separated because we saw you were gone instantly. So we went off to look for you." Blossom stated.
"Hah! Girl if you like me that much you should've just said something." Brick taunted.
"I. Don't. Like. You. I can't like a villain; it goes against my better judgement of being a hero!" Blossom shot back.
"I told you, I'm no villain no more. But addressing me as one? Them's fightin' words." Brick then let off a whistle. *Show the two brothers still flying away from the other girls. They immediately change course and fly back to Brick* "And remember. If you wanna fight one, you'll have to get through the full group!" Brick said as his brothers took their positions.
"What did I do to deserve this..?" Blossom asked herself. Her sisters came flying to her side not too long after the boys did though.
"Three against one isn't a fair matchup!" Buttercup started.
"So why don't we change that!?" Bubbles continued; staring her opponents down.
"Hey! I like the sound of that! Let's do that instead! Ready boys?" Brick agreed and asked.
"Heck yeah!" Boomer shouted (huh I just realized they're all wearing waist-length-darker-than-their-own color jackets!).
"I've been waiting a long time for this..." Butch said to himself.
"It's been almost forever; but let's do this!" And both the girls and boys charged at each other; ready to battle.
